Blessings

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 400 - Retro where we were to pick from 1 of 3 color combos hosted by our loving Betty who is retiring from the CC host list. We surely will miss her. I had the honor and pleasure of guest hosting in January so I choose COLOR CHALLENGE # 356 - Lucky Island Basics for my pick for today. I love these colors together and had such a fun time with them.
My layout is from Saturday's WALTZINGMOUSE SKETCH CHALLENGE # 122.
My island indigo and lucky limeade layers where trimmed with scalloped borders and layered for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 402 - Layered Scallops. Thank You Perfectly Penned

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 402 - Layered Scallops. I used 2 different fiskars scallopped border punches and 2 different colors of card stock.
My color combo is for today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 195 - Pinterest Inspiration photo.

I cut and embossed the 4 different leaves from 4 different colors of cs and arranged them the way I wanted them then stamped the sentiment in dusty durango and viola I was done.
OK so if you read my last upload, which was Wed by the way, you would remember what an ordeal I had with that creation. NOT this one. Went together like peanut butter and jelly. LOL.
HOWEVER, the dilema with my creation was NOT by a long shot the end of the trials for us that day. My MIL had 2 really hard BAD seizures around 3pm and FIL called the EMS to pick her up. She spent 2 days in ICU then Friday around 10am she started repeating everything she said 4-5 times and not able to walk, at 1pm we were in another hospital in another ICU where she has been since. Things have gotten better in some ways and we are HOPEFUL she can come home today.
I broke away to go to Sunday school only to find out that my daughter had her son in the ER for Asthma/Bronchitis. **man, can we get a break? ** At least they let him go back home after some steroids and resp treatments.
I am soooo ready for things to melow back out.

Dear Santa almost dissaster

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 409. My color combo is for Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 399 - Whispering Very Cherry Olives. My Cherry Cobbler used on panel 2 and gold ribbon woven between the ribbon slider slots is for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 401 - Woven Ribbon.
For what should have been such a simple and quick card I can not begin to tell you of the trouble. First I have not stamped an open image for coloring in months. *GASP*. Next with that being said I have not used my copics in at least that long *GASP*. I reached for the matching colors and my R59 was dry *EEK*. So I go for the refill and forget to put on gloves *OH NO* huge mistake working with red ink and no gloves. Now my R56 is a laying beside R59 and guess which one I grab? You got it R56. One squeeze and I realize something aint right here. *GASP GASP*. After cleaning the mess and praying I did not ruin my R56 that did NOT need refilling and especially not with R59 ink I set out to color. I had the image perfectly colored and the sentiment stamped all on 1 layer of white cs when I opened R56 to do some blending and it being over full opening the cap created a splatter of red ink, yep right onto the white part between the image and sentiment, *GRR* can I get a break here?
So opportunity for improvement I cut out my image, restamped my sentiment and image on another piece and popped up the colored image. Thought all troubles was past until I picked up my glue to add some flower soft for the white portion of the image. Well that has not been used since last year around this time and guess what? The tip was sealed and the glue was hard so I reached for some crystal effects. SAME THING!!! So I grabbed some elmers glue. I got downstairs after taking my picture upstairs and realized I left of the 3 dots on the side. Oh well they are just not going to be there on this one. Teehee. I will not be out done.
Now I am off to work knowing that all my troubles surely are behind me. LOL, I hope :-(

Pastor Appreciation

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 401 - Woven Ribbon. My layout is from todays MOJO MONDAYS SKETCH CHALLENGE # 265.
I used Nesties Die Fleur De Lis Squares and Cuttlebug Fleur De Lis embossing folder to make this. My sentiment is from All Year Cheer II set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay. I sponged the inside of the nesties with cool carribean ink.
Now who will get this?  We started going to Calvary Baptist Church here in Moultie last year and felt so loved and welcomed that we stayed.  Last December the pastor left and the church hired Bryan Blackwell as a intern pastor. He is dynomite and so full of the Spirit but as we knew in the begining he was temporary.  One day they announced they had found someone they hoped would be a full time pastor for the church, Josh Myrick. He came and was voted in and we LOVE him. He is a true GODLY man that has really made a positive influence in this small congregation with his love of God and love of God's people along with his desire to teach everyone the Word.  So this month is pastor appreciation month and he will be getting this Wednesday night. Late I know but I just could not make anything that I wanted to give him.
Hope you like it and hope he does too.

I used an eraser dabbed in vanilla craft ink on night of navy cs for polka dots and my crop-a-dile punched circles off night of navy glued onto pacific point cs for the other panel. My sentiment is stamped in pacific point on sahara sand base. I did some paper piercing in 3 of the corners.
I think this will make a nice masculin greeting card. Ya know men don't like a lot of frilly stuff on their cards, it threatens their masculinity. LOL.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Congrats - SU
Paper: Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Sahara Sand
Ink: vanilla craft ink
Accessories: crop-a-dile, pencil eraser, paper piercer

Triple Treat Flower with Polka Dots

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 396 - Make Your Own Polka Dots. I made the top layer with pink pirouette cs beneath the primrose petal after punching holes with a hole puncher, then for the pink pirouette panel below that one I glued the punched out holes from primrose petals.
My flower is stamped in primrose petals onto pink pirouette cs then cut out and popped up. I used a button threaded with twine for the center.
My layout is from today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 189 - Sketch and my colors are from last Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 393 - Lucky Primrose Pirouettes since they were still on my work table that is what I used.
Now off to work.

My sentiment is stamped in primrose petals ink.
Hope you like it.

Summer Bookmark for MIL

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 390 - Lime Razzle Delight , Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 392 - Fold Over Bookmark and Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 185 - Theme Summer Treats which for me is the BEACH since I never have like melons and ice cream is not on my list of items I can have.

I think my Mojo has gone on a sabatical for an extended period of time. I may need to just sit back and enjoy the galleries for a few days until it returns. I just seem to be struggling in my efforts lately not only with what to make, what to use but finding the time to make something has been an issue as well. Early & long days at work are NOT helping either.
If I am AWOL for sometime please forgive me and let me back in when I return :(
Anyway this dp was just too pretty to cover up so I saved all of my detail creations for the inside. I folded the bottom edge of the lucky limeade cs up 1 inch to make a pocket for the bookmark to slide in. I left 1/2 inch on the bottom edge of the backside of the bookmark. I will give this to my MIL in November for her birthday. She reads a lot and I hope she will like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: none
Paper: lucky limeade, TPS Beach dp
Ink: none
Accessories: ribbon, baker's twine, button, ticket corner punch
Techniques: bookmark

Fond Memories of Home Ec

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 399, Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 389 - Bravo Regal Starfruit, Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 391 - No Stamping and Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 184 - Inspired by the word SCHOOL. So often we always tend to think of pre-k, Kindergarden and grade school when we think of school. I do not remember much of my early education years but I do remember the fun I had in home ec class in the 10th grade. My mother raised me and a 3yr older brother of mine alone after the divorce when I was 3yrs old and so she worked 2 and 3 jobs just to make ends meet. That did NOT allow for a lot of home cooking so we ate out A LOT. Eating out does not allow for a daughter to learn how to cook from her mother so I learned a lot in home ec class plus had fun too boot. LOL.
I found this Rose Wild "Cherry Cupcake" dp and went wild with it.
I used my quickutz cupcake die and all 3 colors of cs to make it. I covered the cherry with glaze.
The sentiment is handwritten but please don't tell Shannon, she does not like it when I do that. LOL.
RECIPE:
Stamps: none :(
Paper: white, bravo burgandy, regal rose, summer starfruit, Wild Rose "Cherry Cupcake" dp
Ink: bravo burgandy, regal rose
Accessories: dimensionals, Quickutz cupcake die
Techniques: no stamping, die cuts, 3D

Pre-K Grad

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 391 - No Stamping!. eeekkk. I have not touched a stamp in 7 whole days and now I still can not touch a stamp. OK so after I picked myself off the floor I went to today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 184 - Inspired by SCHOOL and redeemed myself as the ideas began to flow.
I knew I had this "GRADE SCHOOL" dp from DCWV and I thought I had an apple die big enough to meet my needs but as luck would have it "NOT" so I hand drew my school bus, cut it out and popped it up. I used buttons for the headlights.
My layout is from Saturday's SWEET STOP SKETCHES # 172.
I used a sticker from EK Success "The Grad" for my sentiment. I have a pre-k and a Kindergarden grandchild this year so one of them will be getting this at the end of this school year.
Now off to work and back to reality after a fabulous weekend at the beach.
RECIPE:
Stamps: none :(
Paper: Brocade blue, yo yo yellow, poppy parade, DCWV "The Grade School" dp

I sponged Old Olive and Rasberry Ripple on white then added midnight muse around the edges. I then stamped the bat image from Halloween Backgrounds trying the paper towel and water technique. My results are FAR from the tuturial but done nevertheless. I will have to try this again later.

Hope you like it.
