Growing Goldie

JuneAug - no more room for a coffee cup. LOL

Well I have to get to bed so I can get up at 3:30am. Shannon and I are Orlando bound to be at CHA. We are both so excited.

I thought since I did not have a project to share I would share a current picture of Goldie so you can see how much she has grown since my 1st post of her INTRODUCTION. She is really growing. We got her around the middle of June so it has only been about 6 weeks and look at her now! Jessie is feeding her too good. LOL. She was born Apr 03

A CASE of A Little Sunshine

Hidee Hoo all. I am getting sooo ready for CHA but before I can pack and go I have to share this little jewel with you. This is for today's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Supply Me. It is also for today's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE # 8 - CASE Ashley Bowen. This week the challenge is to CASE (copy and share everything) Treehouse Owner Ashley Bowen herself. WOW what an honor to get to browse through her lucious gallery and find inspiration. I found my inspiration in her TREE-RIFIC DAY card using a recently released set from TREEHOUSE STAMPS called Little Sunshine. I changed the layout to use Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE from SCS and the colors to use Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE. I changed the base layer to a solid and used some checked dp for my 2 panels under my focal image. I also left off the small circle and just stamped my sentiment on the bottom of my base. My tree is stamped in certainly celery then covered with green stickles and paper quilling in certainly celery attached. I stamped the trunk with esspresso ink then colored it with copic markers. I also added a couple pieces of paper quilling on the trunk to look like knots in the wood. The paper quilling was done for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Quilling which I had always been afraid of until Monday so I thought I would give it another try. Hope you like it. Come on play along with us by CASEing Ashley and don't forget to use THT008 in the keywords when you upload to Splitcoast and then go the TREEHOUSE STAMPS BLOG site and link you work with Mr.Link so we can see your beautiful creations.

High Hopes Pajama Party

I have to be at work by 6:30 for an early morning meeting that is lasting almost all day long so I did not have a lot of time to search for and think out adding more challenges. I will be back to my normal self Monday. For now this is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. I combined it with Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Certainly, Pixie Appeal for my color combo. I stamped this new to me image in black brilliance then colored with copics E17, E39, E50, E51, G12, G40, RV13, YR20, YR21. If someone has a better match for pixie pink than RV13 please let me know. when I went to matt my focal image on pixie pink I went YUK! My dp is from DCWV's Blossoms & Blutterflies Glitter mat pack. My card base is appricot appeal. Hope you like it.

Seaside Life Gift Bag

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Certainly Pixie Appeal. OK as MotherMark would say here is my story: Recently my darling daughter has been attempting to dethrown the Queen of Combos by combining multiple challenges from the Dare to Get Dirty Challenge list and then had the gaul to call me up and challenge me to "cowboy up!". Well, how can I not take that dare? LOL. Today I decided to not make a card when I found this darling gift bag creation on FOLLOW YOUR HEART BLOG and just had to make one because of LodiChicks' DTGD - IT'S IN THE BAG CHALLENGE. They are simple and darling as well. In making my bag I decided to use a set I just got from Flourishes, I mean why buy if your not going to use it right? My bag is made with some vanilla textured dp for DeborahLynn's DTGD - TAKEN WITH TEXTURE CHALLENGE. I stamped some of the coral in certainly celery on the bag. Also the bag uses ribbon as handles and Lauraly's DTGD - TIE ONE ON CHALLENGE is to use ribbon on your creation. I punched the word window punch after stamping the sentiment in pixie pink because Becca wanted us to DTGD - CUT IT OUT using punches. I also stamped and cut out several of the seashell images then distressed the edges of the tag with appricot appeal ink and attached it to the sea shell brad and popped it up. I put a tag on because Genie's DTGD - TAG ART CHALLENGE was to use a tag. Well Shannon, now it's your turn again to "cowboy up!". LOL. I filled this bag with some pink grass and hard candy. Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Seaside Life
Paper: Vanilla Textured CS, White, Appricot Appeal,
Ink: Appricot Appeal, Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery

CSS Quilled Sunshine

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Quilling. I have never tried this until today. It is quite fun and easy. Today is my 1st day of stamping since Friday so if you know me you know I have been out of sorts. I think I am finally gaining ground on this summer cold/allergy fit I have been suffering with. DH and I went to Valdosta yesturday to see The Proposal. I loved it but then I love almost anything Sandra Bulloch is in. OH Well onto today's creation. For my layout I used today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE - Sketch. For my color combo of summer sun, pumpkin pie and really rust I used Saturday's lovely INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Better Homes & Gardens Room guest hosted by Lori. I loved the colors in this inspiration and knew I wanted to use them, The CAS sketch was perfect and so I grabbed my July released Sunshine Set from CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS because these colors just screamed sunshine and I knew I could make a circle with my 1st attempt at quilling. LOL. I used a punched foam circle and inked it in summer sun then rolled it in realy rust and stamped it. I applied some Ranger Yellow stickles in the circle then placed my quilled circle on top of the stickles. What better way to make it stick than with stickles. I hand drew some sun rays with pumpkin pie marker and covered them with some clear stickles. The sentiment is stamped with really rust. I used some scraps of cs for my matts. Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Sunshine - CSS
Paper: whtie, yellow, orange, rust
Ink: summer sun, pumpkin pie, really rust
Accessories: Ranger Stickles Yellow & Clear
Techniques: Quilling, Rock & Roll

THT007 Butterfly Kisses Treat Box & Contest

This is for todays TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE 007 - 3x3 Note Card Box/Treat Box. The tutorial for this darling little box can be found HERE at Splicoast Stampers website. This little box is just too cute and so versatile. I realized after I made the top that I did not have any more dp to match it so I am making a treat box out of it and I made a 3x3 note card to go with it using the scraps from the dp from the box top. For my focal image I inked the smaller matching butterfly image the same way and this time I stamped the small single wording Live, Laugh, Love over the image. The baja breeze box bottom was stamped randomly with the darling starburst image from Butterfly kisses. The Basic Gray dp is from Treehouse Stamps. The focal image on top is from Butterfly Kisses also from TREEHOUSE STAMPS. I inked it up first with Baja Breeze then rolled it with Old Olive. I love these butterflies and this set. The sentiment is from the individual sections called Live, Laugh, Love on top of the butterfly was inked in old olive then stamped right on top of the butterfly. Come and play along with use this week. We would love to see what you come up. Don't forget when uploading to include THT007 in your keywords so we can find your creation. Also don't foget about the Copic Coloring contest - see the top of my blog for a link to the details.

You're A Khaki Star

What a week so far. Last night Jessie called his parents who thankfully live next door, just to check on them. His dad said his Mom was a basket case and had her medication in a mess, was in her bathroom where she had been all afternoon. This was about 6pm. We had to go to Wally World for some household supplies and did not get back home until 11pm. It took 2hrs to get her medication straightened out and set up for the next 2 weeks. Dad was not even kidding when he described Mom as being confused. I was confused by the time we left last night. Oh well, onto today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. My plans after having to go to work without getting to do the color challenge yesturday were to combine the SC and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Pretty Rusty? Not Quite! with my brand new image I just got in the mail from The Greeting Farm. Well that ain't happenin' cause it is too big and no where to fit it in so for Plan B I used the dp that also came in my order. TeeHee. I love this star paper. It is matted with NQN and I punched the bottom with a Fiskars border punch. I punched out the stars in really rust and Not quite Navy cs then attached a white star brad in the center of each and popped them up. I had to off set them a bit to get them placed. Sorry Roxy. I did not want to handwrite my sentiment and my puter will not print and I do not have a stamp with that sentiment so I was forced to meet my New Years Resolution to use my Quickutz. This is Khaki Alphabet. I think I will give this to one of my grands when they do well on a test or have a great week without turning their Hawks around (means they were bad!). Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps:
NONE
Paper: really rust, not quite navy, dirty rodeo dp, pretty in pink
Ink: none

Good News - Dallas has arrived / Bad News

We got that early morning phone call we have been expecting about 8am this morning and headed to the hospital. Amanda was in labor and dilated 4cm with buldging membranes. They were getting her some pain medication while they waited on Anesthesia to come put the epidural in. They were soooo glad when the epidural got in and worked. The parents and the nurses both. LOL. Dallas arrived shortly after noon weighing in at 8 1/2 lbs and 21 inches long. He is just adorable. This pregnancy was harder on Amanda than her 1st one 3yrs ago but the delivery was soo much easier. She retained the placenta 3yrs ago but everything came out fine today.
.
Now for the not so good news. My co-worker that we took food to Saturday evening called work today shorty after 3pm to let everyone know her darling husband has passed away. I started THIS thread Friday. I am updating it today. God is so good in so many ways. Ruth is going to miss him so much but he is not suffering any longer and that is a blessing to his loved ones for sure.

I changed the colors, layout, left off the ribbon and buttons. I also found inspiration from Saturday's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Posters.com where I found this darling display ESSENTIALS IV. The colors on this poster are also the same as Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Krafty Saffron Nights. I used corregated paper in sub for kraft for Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Out of the box since I really wanted to play along with that one and just had not been able to fit it in yet. My focal image is matted on a piece of so saffron cs that was sponged 1st with Night of Navy then black for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Faux Burnt Edges. My layout is from Saturday's I{HEART}2 STAMP - Sketch Challenge. What a fun layout it is. My sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy. My image and sentiment are from a set that can be found at TREEHOUSE STAMPS - Friends and Lattes. I stamped my image in black on white cs then colored it with copics and my dp layer is from Basic Gray - Marrakech Stack both of which can also be found at Treehouse Stamps.

Inspired Little Trucks

This is for today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Posters.com. We have birthdays for a grandson this month and granddaughter next month and I found tooo many posters that just screamed "oh yeh, I'm the one", teehee. I finally decided to start with the most current upcoming day for Brayden who will be 6. Man where does this time go, she just had him a last year didn't she? I found my inspiration for this little cutie from DIGGER. Anyway, there have only been a couple of previous sets from SU when I started that I soooo wanted and this Little Truck set and Wild Wild West were 2 of them I just can not seem to get but I did get some really nice SCSer's to share some images with me. I love this site. Such really nice people on here, thanks Kelly for these images. I am also more than willing to share images from those that I have purchased if I have any that anyone wants, just pm me.
My image was stamped in black on white cs. I colored it with copic markers and attached some google eyes. Brayden will love that. I used today's layout from UNSCRIPTED SKETCHES. I drug out some textured CS I have been hoarding and used it for my base. The dp layer is from DCWV's glittery Citrus mat stack. The entire layer 2, with the focal image on it, is popped up. The vertical sentiment is from Close To My Heart's Happy Birthday Set. Oh I hope he likes this. Now the hard part, what to get him!!
RECIPE:
Stamps: Little Trucks, CTMH - Happy Birthday
Paper: Non su textured CS, DCWV Glitter Citrus Mat Pack
Ink: black
Accessories: ribbon, dimensionals

QK Happy Birthday Dies

Well in case you did not know, my all-in-one printer is worthless with the exception of the scanner part of it which is magnificant. I have changed ink well 3 times and still can not get it to print our worth a dang so I have given up. That being said I almost croaked when I saw today's LSC :( what I need my printer to do this challenge. I put on my thinking cap, remembered my NY's resolution to use my QK's that I just had to have and so this is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Digis' and Diecuts. There are no stamped images on here only punched layers and balloons. I tied some hemp around the balloons. The only ink used was to doodle around the scalloped edges. I used the embossed sentiment so this is also for Thursday's TREEHOUSE THURSDAYS CHALLENGE -Dry Emboss.
RECIPE:
Stamps: none
Paper: dcwv, red, blue, yellow cs from Michaels
Ink: ballet blue
Accessories: quickutz Happy Birthday Set, Maurvy Ovals Scallop Giga and Mega punches
Techniques: dry emboss,

Ms. Hoot with Faux Burnt Edges

This is for today's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE - Dry Embossing Technique. I used a brass plate of leaves that I had never used before on the left and right sides of my so saffron panel. I like it. I also used my SU light that my darling daughter (e3stamper) bought me yrs ago when we 1st started stamping. I wore it out when I 1st got it and then the CB came along. Sad I know. My layout is from today's STAMPS AND SMILES SKETCH CHALLENGE. My color combo is from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Krafty Saffron Nights. I used Monday's TECHNQIUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Faux Burnt Edges on the oval layer. My main image is from a set called Ms.Hoot that was recently released by TREEHOUSE STAMPS. She is just too adorable. My images were stamped in black then colored with copics. The owl was then cut out and popped up.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Ms. Hoot - THS
Paper: White, So saffron, Night of Navy, Kraft
Ink: Black, so saffron, Night of Navy
Accessories: Copics, Leaf brass emboss plate, SU Light Table, Stylets, Sponges, Nestie Large Ovals
Techniques: Faux Burnt Edges, dry emboss

Wild West Tic-Tac-Toe

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. Yep, for sure I have lost my MoJo! This is not my fav but got head to work so I am looking for ideas. Should have looked through the SC235 gallery before I made this for inspiration. I do not do well with square cards so I used a vertical sentiment from Hambo inked with choc chip and made a regular A2 size. When I 1st saw the sketch I thought Tic-Tac-Toe. I love that game and dh will not play this or checkers with me bc he says I get him trapped so no matter which way he moves I win. (insert grin here). LOL. I usually take the X's so as you can see I let him win this round. I think I will put thin in front of the coffee machine for him to find tomorrow morning after I am at work. He is off so he will get to sleep in (insert pout here). I used this darling wild west alphabet that I just had to have and have not inked up but 1 time. The X's and O's were stamped in choc chip on vanilla then matted on choc chip. I wanted to use a thin brown ribbon across the middle line to identify the winner but could not do that over my sentiment. So any ideas how to make me convert this into a likable creation?
RECIPE:
Stamps: Wild West Alphabet - SU, Vert Greeting - Hambo
Paper: vanilla, choc chip
Ink: choc chip

For now here is a cute treat holder TEMPLATE for you to play with and create. We would love to see what you come up with. I have used the template and this darling set Summer to create this:
I made this treat holder using Stampin Up brand new In-color Razzleberry paper, ink and dotted ribbon. I also used some new dp I picked up at Michaels last time from DCWV called Blossoms and Butterflies Glitter Pack. They just screamed to be used. I left my treat holder empty to show the full view of it. I punched the front of the holder using my extra giga oval scallop punch. The popsicle is a 2 step stamp done in curry and razzleberry then cut out and popped up. Now hop over to the CLEAR & SIMPLE BLOG to see what the other DT members have created for your inspiration and viewing pleasure.
