Thoughts of Father

This is for today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE # 282 - Wild Wings. I saw this gorgeous TRUCK & FARM CANVAS ART on the home page and instantly knew what I wanted to do. I have not used this image in a while so it was time.
This is also for Friday's QUEEN FOR THE DAY # 58 - jdmommy finding inspiration from her SEEING NEW YORK CITY love that vintage vehicle.
On Friday we also were challenged and I had to rise to it for the FREE 4 ALL CHALLENGE # 62 - Ogres Have Layers well Shrek is the only ogre I know and he is green so why not. LOL. I used double layers on my main panel, Layered over my base with dp and ribbon and layered my 2 buttons.
Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE # 320 - Boy, Oh Boy was perfect for this image and for Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 320 - Certainly Bashful Breezes.
I used Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 330 for my layout which was flipped from the original.
I cut my focal panel and layer from Nesties Label 17 then with the white still in the die I stamped my image for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 322 - Stampin' In The Die. I heat embossed the windshield three times then cracked it.
Whey, that's what happens when I miss out on a challenge I bundle them ALL up to play catch up. LOL.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Thoughts of Father - SU
Paper: white, baja breeze, certainly celery, dp
Ink: momento tuxedo black
Accessories: buttons, ribbon, dimensionals, ultra thick embossing powder, copics

SNS Day 4 Sneak Peek - Let Go, Let God

Today is Day 4 of "Sweet Peeks"  from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. Today's focal set is "Let Go, Let God".  I love these sentiments that are in this set.  They are perfect for the outside or inside of a card and so comforting.
I stamped the sentiment in Espresso ink then stamped the lighthouse image from "Shining Light" after stamping off.  I distressed the edges of the nestie with close to cocoa marker after cutting and embossing with Nesties Label 11.  I added a little yellow to look like a glow of light from the lighthouse image.
My  dp is from "Inspirations" and it is matted on River Rock for my card base. I tied ribbon around and in a bow.  Hope you like it.
Now visit the Sweet N Sassy Blog site to see the rest of the samples made using this set

SNS Day 2 Sneak Peek - Shining Light

Today is Day 2 of sneak peeks from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. Today's focal set is "Shining Light".   I love this fabulous Lighthouse image and the sentiments that are included in the set are fabulous.
I have not done a "faux burnt edging" card in quite some time so I thought I would on this one.  We did this a long time ago on Splitcoast and I can not find the technique now but I think I remembered it. Tear the edges of your paper and begin sponging with creamy caramel far away and to the edge of the paper, follow with close to cocoa not going all the way in to the creamy caramel, follow that with chocholate chip and then black.
I hope that was right. Anyway that is how I made this one.  I stamped on vanilla then tore and sponged as above.  I stamped the sentiment in Espresso ink then distressed the edges of the card base with espresso ink pad.  I tied brown ribbon and added some red as well.  My image was colored with copics.
Now visit the Sweet N Sassy Blog site to see the rest of the samples made using this set.

Me and my girls.
My babies all grown up into women with babies of their own.

Welcome Baby

This is for today's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE # 319 - Ovals.
I used Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 329 for my layout.
I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 319 - Concord Ivory Cakes for my color combo.
I used a new stamp set from MARKS FINEST PAPERS called OH BABY, IT'S A GIRL. I stamped the safety pins in concord crush on the vanilla panel. I "TRIED" to color the plastic safety pins mounted on vanilla punched ovals. NOTE TO SELF- Copics do not color plastic very well. LOL.

Now off to work.

I used a just released digi from SWEET N SASSY STAMPS for my focal image of Cocoa with a bag of popcorn. My oldest daughter really really LOVES popcorn so I will give this to her just to remind her no matter how old you get your mama still thinks about your good will and safety.
I distressed the vanilla base with Crumb cake ink pad then colored the image with copics. Wait On The Lord

Today's SCS  TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 321 - Same But Different was too hard to pass up.  I just made the card on the left late Sunday for today's post on my blog and sealed the envie and dropped in the mail. When I looked at today's challenge I had to pull up my picture and make another one. I like how the 1st one turned out but after loading it thought better of some of my placements but did not have time to start over so today I got to start over. I still had some dp left over and pleant of primas and off to my cave I went.
I changed the placemnt of my flourshes and leaves this time more around the primas. I airburshed both the pink and yellow prima and topped them off with a solid white closed together by a yellow brad this time. Much softer effect I think than the copic colored yellow prima on the left. I used the same Nesties, sentiment and copic coloring around the Nestie for both.
This is also for Friday's QUEEN FOR THE DAY # 56 - Mrs.Boz. I chose her BEAUTIFUL CARD HERE to CASE. I changed the flower type and used dp but kept the basic layout.
I used last Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 319 - So Pretty Pizzazz.
My focal sentiment is from a set called "Wait On The Lord" from SWEET N SASSY STAMPS that I just bought and could not wait to get it dirty. I love using sentiments for focal panel but I also love long sentiments suchh as this for using on the inside. I have almost nothing for inside of a card. Now another early and late day at work ahead of me so off I go.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Wait On The Lord, SNSS
Paper: whtie, pretty in pink, pear pizzazz, so saffron, MME
Ink: so saffron
Accessories: Nesties label 9, Quickutz Flourish, Fiskars Leaf, Martha Stewart Fern punch, Primas, ABS, copics
Techniques: ABS, 3D, Same but Different

My color combo is from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 318 - So Pretty Pizzazz.
I used Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 114 - Inspiration photos of those darling baby bibs for my inspiration.
The stamp set I used was just released this week from MARKS FINEST PAPERS and it is called "Oh Boy, It's A Girl". It is such a darling baby set. The charm is also from MFP store. Hope you like it, now off to church I go.

Garden Fairy Totally Tote Bag

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER # 218 - BSpinks. Congrats to you Beverly. I love your CAS gallery and really love your CHOCOLATE CHIP BUTTERFLY]. I changed the colors, left off the flower, and made a treat bag instead of card.
This is also for Saturday's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE # 279 - Cox & Cox. I had already saved this BUTTERFLY RUBBER STAMPS PICTURE.
I trimmed my sentiment using one of my very neglected decorative scissors (Victorian, I think?) that I just had to have years ago for Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE # 317 - Decorative Scissors.
I used Tuesday''s COLOR CHALLENGE # 317 - Breezy Parade of Pears.
This is also for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 318 - Totally Totebags that I never got around to doing but wanted to.
My stamp set used for this is called "GARDEN FAIRIES and will be available next week from MARKS FINEST PAPERS. I used white for my base and layered it with some MME dp. I stamped the image in versamark then heat embossedd with clear detail embossing powder for today's SPEEDY THE CAT'S FRIENDS CHALLENGE # 50 - Emboss Resist followed by some sponging of baja breeze, pear pizzazz and poppy parade inks.
My image is a sneak peek of a set due to be released next week from MARKS FINEST PAPERS called "In Mother's Garden" and the HB sentiment is also from a sneak peek from "Bearded Iris which was stamped in baja breeze.

Bearded Iris Sneak Peek

My dp is from Basic Gray's "Hello Lucious" and it is so lucious matted on pear pizzazz. My sentiment was stamped in baja breeze and matted on a layered oval punch in baja breeze. My focal image was stamped in momento tuxedo black then colored with copics and matted on poppy parade.
My baja breeze base appeared to be too plain even with the gems so I used my score blade to create some raised embossed lines.
The stamp set I used is called "BEARDED IRIS" and will be available next week from MARKS FINEST PAPERS.  The Sentiment is from "AFRICAN VELDT" also from Marks Finest Papers.

I am luvin how this turned out, the fact that I have internet and the knowledge that this is my Friday. Off tomorrow and in the boat we will go in search of those RedFish using some "gulp" bait that I talked about in Tuesday's upload. LOL. Here we go!

Grand Angler For All Year

OK so I appologize for the terrrible photo but I am addicted to the daily challenges and was NOT going to be outdone even with no internet.  I had to go to my blackberry at 5am to see the color challenge and then after I finished my project I had to take a picture using my blackberry so that I could send it to my email address and load from work. I have No internet since the area we live in suffered many down trees etc with 70 mile an hour winds. Our yard is a disaster itself. There are things in my yard that do NOT belong to me. eeek. We quickly cleaned out a space in the closet under the stairs keeping water, flashlight and cell phone at 3am. With NO sleep to speek of this is what I came up with for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 317 - Breezy Parade of Pears.
I just got a pack of embossing folders in this clear package and when I took the folders out I thought "Hum, that will make a good gift" so I went with it.
I used my brand new Grand Caliber and Grand Nesties Labels four with this paper studio dp. I cut the sentiment and matt out using Nesties Label Four and had to turn it on the side so that the sentiment would fit but I like how it turned out.
I stamped the fish in Momento tuxedo black then colored with copics to make it look like a "Red Fish" which is a poor mans Sail Fish trophy. we love catching these hard fighting bottom hugging line brearkers. LOL
My hubby is having pure fits because trout season has been open since Mar 1st and he has not even been able to go due to weather, previous engangements, etc.
I will fill this with Gulp and give it to him for Father's Day. He will LOVE the gulp and I hope he will love the package as well.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Angler, All Year Cheer II - SU
Paper: red, TPS dp, white
Ink: Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Nestie Label 4, Grand Nesties Label 4, Dimensionals, sponges
Techniques: sponging, die cuts, 3d

ETA:  I came home and have internet so I edited my photo I took with my regular camera and am loading it. Such a better view.

Fishy Friends at Home

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER CHALLENGE # 217 - D&I93 AKA Irene. So happy to be CASEing Irene's gallery. And so while I was browsing and choosing the perfect CASE option from Irene's gorgeous gallery I choose her TREASURE FISHING. While in her gallery however I discovered that my dear friend Lois was QUEEN FOR THE DAY # 54 - Clownmom, didn't know that so I had to include it by CASEing her UNDER THE SEA WITH JILL. Now all of this undersea adventure gazing inspired me to do Saturday's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE # 278 getting my inspiration from this SEA LIFE HOOK RUG. Since fish and sealife LIVE under the water this is also for Friday's FREE 4 ALL CHALLENGE # 58 - HOME SWEET HOME. I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 316 - Misty Celery Breeze. I cut along the edge for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 318 - Follow The Edge. I used the fish and seahorse from "Fishy friends", the sentiment from "Crab & Co", and the kite tail from "On the Beach" Whey, I think that is all for today. Happy Sunday all.
