Summer Bookmark for MIL

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 390 - Lime Razzle Delight , Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 392 - Fold Over Bookmark and Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 185 - Theme Summer Treats which for me is the BEACH since I never have like melons and ice cream is not on my list of items I can have.

I think my Mojo has gone on a sabatical for an extended period of time. I may need to just sit back and enjoy the galleries for a few days until it returns. I just seem to be struggling in my efforts lately not only with what to make, what to use but finding the time to make something has been an issue as well. Early & long days at work are NOT helping either.
If I am AWOL for sometime please forgive me and let me back in when I return :(
Anyway this dp was just too pretty to cover up so I saved all of my detail creations for the inside. I folded the bottom edge of the lucky limeade cs up 1 inch to make a pocket for the bookmark to slide in. I left 1/2 inch on the bottom edge of the backside of the bookmark. I will give this to my MIL in November for her birthday. She reads a lot and I hope she will like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: none
Paper: lucky limeade, TPS Beach dp
Ink: none
Accessories: ribbon, baker's twine, button, ticket corner punch
Techniques: bookmark

Fond Memories of Home Ec

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 399, Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 389 - Bravo Regal Starfruit, Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 391 - No Stamping and Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 184 - Inspired by the word SCHOOL. So often we always tend to think of pre-k, Kindergarden and grade school when we think of school. I do not remember much of my early education years but I do remember the fun I had in home ec class in the 10th grade. My mother raised me and a 3yr older brother of mine alone after the divorce when I was 3yrs old and so she worked 2 and 3 jobs just to make ends meet. That did NOT allow for a lot of home cooking so we ate out A LOT. Eating out does not allow for a daughter to learn how to cook from her mother so I learned a lot in home ec class plus had fun too boot. LOL.
I found this Rose Wild "Cherry Cupcake" dp and went wild with it.
I used my quickutz cupcake die and all 3 colors of cs to make it. I covered the cherry with glaze.
The sentiment is handwritten but please don't tell Shannon, she does not like it when I do that. LOL.
RECIPE:
Stamps: none :(
Paper: white, bravo burgandy, regal rose, summer starfruit, Wild Rose "Cherry Cupcake" dp
Ink: bravo burgandy, regal rose
Accessories: dimensionals, Quickutz cupcake die
Techniques: no stamping, die cuts, 3D

I know it is not my cuttlebug. Oh Well it is what it is since this is no stamping and no coloring and took me longer than any other card I have made.

Pre-K Grad

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 391 - No Stamping!. eeekkk. I have not touched a stamp in 7 whole days and now I still can not touch a stamp. OK so after I picked myself off the floor I went to today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 184 - Inspired by SCHOOL and redeemed myself as the ideas began to flow.
I knew I had this "GRADE SCHOOL" dp from DCWV and I thought I had an apple die big enough to meet my needs but as luck would have it "NOT" so I hand drew my school bus, cut it out and popped it up. I used buttons for the headlights.
My layout is from Saturday's SWEET STOP SKETCHES # 172.
I used a sticker from EK Success "The Grad" for my sentiment. I have a pre-k and a Kindergarden grandchild this year so one of them will be getting this at the end of this school year.
Now off to work and back to reality after a fabulous weekend at the beach.
RECIPE:
Stamps: none :(
Paper: Brocade blue, yo yo yellow, poppy parade, DCWV "The Grade School" dp
Ink: none
Accessories: stickers, dimensionals, buttons, Fiskars border punch
Techniques: no stamping

Happy Halloween Hauntings

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 390 - Water Stamping and CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 183 - Sketch Inspired by Tenia.
My color combo is from last Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 387 - Old Midnight Ripples which was still on my work table since I have not been able to do anything since Wendesday's Sketch.
This will also be my only time to play this week as I leave at 4am tomorrow for Mississippi and when I get home Thursday night have to pack for the beach Friday. I hope yall have a great week and hope to be back in the swing next Monday.
I sponged Old Olive and Rasberry Ripple on white then added midnight muse around the edges. I then stamped the bat image from Halloween Backgrounds trying the paper towel and water technique. My results are FAR from the tuturial but done nevertheless. I will have to try this again later.
I used my Fiskars Bat border punch and Martha Stewart Witch and Cauldron punch using midnight muse cs. My sentiment is from SU Happy Hauntings set.
Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Happy Hauntings, Halloween Background
Paper: white, old olive, midnight muse

Brayered Silhouette Thank You

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 397.
My color combo is from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 387 - Old Midnight Ripples.
Today I used a technique for backgrounds from the tutorial section called BRAYERED SKY for Monday's BLISSFUL BACKGROUNDS where we were to pick from the many choices of background tutorials available here at SCS. I started way off the paper to tone the dark colors down some and added some sponging to fill in the gaps then stamped the image from Serene Silhouettes in midnight muse. I used my Marvy Mega Scallop Circle punch. My dp is from The Paper Studio "Classics" stack. I tried to find a sentiment that read "you put a song in my heart" and could not so I grabbed Because I Care and changed to a Thank You card.
Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Serene Silhouettes, Because I Care
Paper: vanilla, midnight muse, raspberry ripple,
Ink: old olive, midnight muse
Accessories: ribbon, dimensionals, Marvy Giga Scallop Circle
Techniques: Brayered Sky, sponging, 3D

Baby Swiped Sympathy

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 387 - Old Midnight Ripples with a dessert option of CAS style. So I did them both along with Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 389 - Blissful Backgrounds where we were to pick one of the many different background tutorials. In my search on Monday I found this one that I wanted to try called STRIPED WIPE TUTORIAL.  It is one of Beate's many fabulous creations and it used a baby wipe folded and re-inkers along the edge then swipe the wipe across glossy card stock which is what I did using today's 3 colors.
Then I stamped the image from Serene Silhouettes in midnight muse and matted on midnight muse. My base is old olive and the sentiment from Close as a Memory is stamped in midnight muse. I tied some raspberry ripple ribbon and was done. How much more CAS can I make it? LOL.
Now I owe I owe so off to work I go. Na Na Nananana Na Na Na Na Na. Can you hear the smurf tune? LOL
RECIPE:
Stamps: Serene Silhouettes, Close As A Memory
Paper: glossy cs, midnight muse, old olive
Ink: old olive, midnight muse, rasberry ripple
Accessories: ribbon, baby wipe, re-inkers
Techniques: Striped wipe background

Blue Marbled Birthday Greetings Set Sail

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 389 - Blissful Backgrounds where we were to search the Resources here at SCS and select one. I choose to use the ROLLING MARBLE BACKGROUND using pacific point ink on white cs.
Today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 182 - Color Challenge Dark Blue & White was fun to include. I used pacific point and just to make sure I got the dark blue right my cardd base is midnight muse.
I stamped the image from Set Sail and the sentiments from Birthday Greetings in pacific point.
I have a couple of birthday cards I have been trying to decide which one to give my dh in a couple of weeks but I think this will be it. He loves fishing and just being on the water. He could care less if it is fresh water or salt water just as long as it is water and something is tugging on the other end of the rod. LOL.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Set Sail, Birthday Greetings
Paper: white, midnight muse Ink: pacific point
Accessories: marbles
Techniques: rolling marble background

I also dusted of some ribbon that I bought about 6 months ago and never have used as well as my Martha Stewart Diamond Fence punch that has not seen love in awhile. I embossed the baja breeze panel with The Paper Studio's Script embossing folder.
Hope you like it
