Halloween '08

We went to Shannon's tonight to see the kids in thier costumes. Alana and Madison were bunny rabbits and Brayden was a Ninja "fight man". They were too cute. Madi hopping around wiggling her nose and Brayden jumping from chair to chair fighting everything around.
Michele had to work, bummer. Maybe next year all 6 of these critters can go trick-or-treating together.

HMSC20, HMCC20 Our Love

This is for today's H & M sketch and color challenge hosted every Saturday by owner Heather Rolin on her BLOG but this week she is doing it on Friday because we have a blog hop Saturday, November 1st. This weeks color was white. I thought I was going to have a hard time with it but I LOVE how this turned out. I used Swiss Dots and Textiles embossing folders from Cuttlebug. I stamped the sentiments and image on vellum in whisper white craft ink then heat embossed with white detail EP. I turned the couple image over and used my mouse pad to emboss from the backside just the couple image. We did this technique a while back for a TLC on SCS just can not remember what it is called but I did enjoy it. I had some white ribbon that I thougth was just perfect and tied it around the swiss dot layer. This lovely set can be purchased right now at H & M Stamp Company. Don'f forget about the great oportunity to:

Happy Fall Wishes Y'all

Good Wednesday morning for you at least I hope. I knew when I woke up and the heater was STILL running I might be in trouble. Well turns out when I walked outside to go to work I looked over at the cat's water dish and WHAT? Ice, are you kiding me? Nope a thin layer but yep ice in the dish. BBBRRRRRR..... Then as I head on to work a ton of bricks hit me in my heart. Some years I pass through this week OK, this may not be one of them. Don't know why but it just happens. My mother passed away today at 6pm 18 yrs ago from Breast CA. We buried her on Oct 31st. Halloween has not been a good time for me since. So think of me some today and maybe my tears will turn to joy. I am having a hard time today.
Well I am not really happy with this one but here it is anyway. I think it is the Pink that goes yuk! to this but I needed to do more fall cards, not ready for Christmas but that seems to be all I can do lately. LOL. This cute set from TREEHOUSE STAMP COMPANY needed some luv shown to it again. And look it is on sale along with a lot of other really kewl sets. Check it out.
This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE and I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Tangerine Pixie Kisses for my color combo. the scarecrow is stamped in timber brown stazon then colored with SU Markers cut out and popped up. I left some length on the arms neck and shirt tail so that I could shred the edges. The pink layer is punched with a small leaf punch. The squares are punch with layered deckle punches. I stamped the sentiment using my SU marker and huffing then stamped off 1 time using the sm leaf inked with kiwi kiss. I stamped both the lg and sm leaf in kiwi kiss on kk and used the pumpkin CB embossing folder on pumkin pie cs. The only leaf accessories I could find was this brown one. Need some leaf brads. Time to go shopping. LOL.

A CASE of Cardinals

Happy Sunday, started out bad. A few yrs ago we bought 2 SMART Clocks, well the Fed gov decided to change the weekends for Daylight Savings Time Begin and End. The SMART Clocks are not as smart as we would like them to be. I have tried to find out what weekend the old time changes were unsuccesful until today when we opened the box of one of these clocks to find out how to reprogram them. There it is big as it can be. Anyway this morning we work to the alarm and casually drank coffee then realized that it was 1 hr later than we thought. gggrrrr. He was about 30min late for work and in ICU they don't like for you to be late. He was graciouly forgiven bc he is NEVER OUT SICK or LATE.

Now onto today's project. Anyway this is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - SpeedyStamper. I used this weeks SKETCH CHALLENGE. I love her gallery and had a hard time deciding which one to CASE. I finally decided that since I had just got this set and LOVE it so much I chose her A CARDINAL THANKSGIVING. I changed the colors, the dp and the layout. My main image was stamped in black brilliance and colored w/prismacolor pencils then blended w/gamsol. The sentiment was stamped in versamark then Red tinsel EP applied and heat set. I applied stickles to the berries. This really sparkles IRL. I love how this turned out and hope you do to.

This is for today's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Monogram, and I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Choc Tangerine Kisses for my color combo. I have seen quite a few of these SCALLOP EDGE MEDALLION creations in the gallery and was just itching to try this myself. I think the Martha Stewart border punch I used may not be the best choice but I did get an interesting design using it. I used my blender pen and picked up some kiwi kiss ink from the pad to run over the raised emboss part of the image. The corners were stamped in choc chip using one of the images from Small Sayings. The mongram is from Wild West Alphabet. I stamped it, cut it out and popped it up. This is for my MIL for her birthday next month. Hope she likes it.

Together Forever Wild Bareback Monogram Pizza Box

WooHoo I got to do today's challenge this morning. Thanks Kim for hosting today's fun challenge. This is for today's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Monograms, Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Chocolate Tangerine Kisses, and Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Mini Pizza Boxes. Well as soon as I saw the challenge today I knew what I had to make. I bought this gorgeous Alphabet set last year with intentions of make a co-worker a monogram Christmas or Birthday set of cards. Guess what I never got around to making, until today that is. She has a horse that she loves to ride so I paired the circle design from Together Forever with the letter from her last name along with the border line of running horses from Bareback. For the box I used old olive and choc chip craft ink then heat embossed with detail clear EP. The "K" is cut out and popped up. I used the Mega and Giga scallop circle punches on the box and the Mega and SU scallop circle for the 3x3 cards. I even decorated the inside of the 3x3 card. Yeh! Did some doodling on the vanilla circle of the card since I just stamped them in ink and did not emboss them. Hope she likes it.

Stamps: Together Forever, Wild West Alphabet, Bareback
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, vanilla,
Ink: Chocolate Chip Ink & Craft Ink, Old Olive Ink & Craft Ink, Kiwi Kiss,

At the time of the release my Guest Design Membership was up but as fate would have it Ashley asked me and Shannon to stay on as permanent DT Members so I got this neat set to play with and have not had a chance until today. I have a co-worker who is just wonderful and so helpful. She also LOVES coffee so I am putting a couple of bags of coffee in her just for her. I hope she likes it. The image was stamped in choc chip and then colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol medium. I cut this image and layered matt out using my Fiskars oval templates. The kiwi kiss layer is stamped with the swirl from this set and the coffee bean. I stamped the sentiment in tangerine tango then punched it and the layer out with the large and small oval punches. I punched 2 each of choc chip, tangerine tango and kiwi kiss cs using the Martha Stewart Fern Punch and attached it under the popped up sentiment. This is matted on some orange mulberry paper I tore to place on the box. My box is in white stamped randomly with the coffee bean in choc chip. I attached a dark brown 3/4 in ribbon around the box to help hold it secure. I used the upside down of this version because I did not want the coffee bags to fall out.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Friends & Latte's -Treehouse Stamp Co
Paper: white, kiwi kiss, tangerine tango, orange mulberry
Ink: choc chip, tangerine tango,
Accessories: choc chip marker, MS fern punch, diminsionals.
Techniques: Gamsol Magic,Treat Box

Sleding Fun Sneak Peak

Good Monday Morning Stampers and Crafters. Hope eveyone had a wonderful weekend and ready for a new week.
Today's project is so kewl. This is today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Mini Pizza Box. This was such a fun project. I will probably fill this box with some peppermint candy for some lucky co-worker. This adorable image is called "Sleding Fun" and is soon to be released from TREEHOUSE STAMP COMPANY. The box was stamped with the snowflake image from "Christmas Favorites" also from Treehouse stamps using bashful blue. The main image was stamped on white with black stazon then colored with prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. The hat was cut out and popped up. I applied white liquid applique beneath the sled and dotted randomly for the falling snow effect. I also applied some to the nose an dthe base of the fox's tail. I then applied a small amt of stickles except on the snowflakes of the sentiment (too much :( there). The sentiment was also stamped in bashful blue and punched out with the wide oval punch. I freehanded the blue cs oval for the layered piece.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Sleding Fun, Christmas Favorites - Treehouse Stamps
Paper: white, bashful blue
Ink: black stazon, bashful blue
Accessories: white liquid applique, stardust stickles, white oval punch, Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol blending medium. diminsionals
Techniques: Gamsol Magic

Today is day 6 of the H&M Blog Hop so you still have time to get your name in the pot from any of the design team members. See the list and links to everyone's blog HERE. The downside of fall for me is that winter is just around the corner. Here is South Ga it seems like we only get a couple of weeks of fall before what I call winter hits. I may have been born in Indiana but my Mom was smart enough to bring me back down south where I belong. I keep the comforter on me all year round and have been know to run my electric blanket in July. I so can not take the really cold weather. So my question today is what do you like least or least look forward to about fall?

Featured Peaceful Decor' + Day 5 of Blog Hop

This is a little late but I have taken most of today to recover from having 3 of my granddaughters for an overnighter. LOL. They had such a blast and were all so good. Jessie inflated our queen size air mattress that we take camping and we put it in the living room. The only trouble we had was the 2 yr old thinking it was a kewl trampoline or bouncy thing. LOL.

Onto today's creation. This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - Lovin' Stampin'. My 3rd run through her gallery brought my attention to her SUNKIST PEACHES card. As I gazed I thougth about how long it had been since I had made a view master card and the ideas started to flow. I used this beautiful set called Peaceful Decor' from H & M Stamp Company. I used some dp from My Minds Eye and blue bayou along with some green cs from Michael. Sentiment is stamped in blue bayou. Please see my blog for pictures of the other 2 images available on this project when the dial is rolled. These cards are really fun and easy to make.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Peaceful Decor'
Paper: Blue Bayou, Green, MME dp, white
Ink: Black Stazon, Blue Bayou
Accessories: Oval Punch, Slot punch, Ribbon, brad
Techniques: View Master Card

HMSC17, HMCC13 All I Want For Christmas is The Time For Cookies

It's Saturday, yeh.. It is also day 4 of the H&M Blog Hop. I have always loved Thanksgiving. My Aunt made the BEST chicken & dressing and always cooked 4 or 5 vegetables. My mom did not cook veggies that much bc my brother would not eat them except my Aunt's house so I always looked forward to eating at Aunt Neva's (yep, I am named after her). So my question today is What is your favorite traditional dish for Thanksgiving dinner?
Enter a comment in this post for a chance to win the drawing mentioned HERE. Make sure to visit all DT members blogs and follow their instructions if you have not already done so.

Here is another really kewl set from H&M Stamp Company that I used for today's sketch/color challenge.
This is not what was in my head but I think I have some cob webs up there due to all of the recent spooky creations. LOL. The images from this project are from a set called "Christmas Is Time for Cookies" and the sentiment is from "Al I want for Christmas". These sets can be found at H & M Stamp Company. This sentiment set is so neat with phrases for the inside of the card as weel. I stamped the tin filed with chocolates on white then on my dp and the plate of cookies on white. Images were colored with prismacolor pencils then blended w/gamsol medium. I applied crystal effects to the candy and the milk in the glass. Hard to see well in the photo. The sentiment was stamped in green galore then punched using my new wide oval punch but I wanted it layered too so I had to cut those by hand. I did paper piecing for the tin. The images and layers ended up so large I decided to not do any photo corners, etc.
RECIPE:
Stamps: H&M All I Want For Christmas, Christmas Is The Time For Cookies
Paper: White, red, green, christmas holly dp
Ink: black stazon, close to cocoa, garden green
Accessories: crystal effects
Technique: Paper piecing, gamsol magic
