Cupcake Fluffles

Happy Wednesday. This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. YEH I did it, after I woke up from heart failure. I just don't usually do well with a lot of layers. LOL. This was a fun sketch though, Thanks Rox. I was unable to do the challenge yesturday so I did it today, so this is also for Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Real Black Olives. I saw so many lovely creations Monday using only 1 ink on white so I had to try Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Marbles again. I am in no way ready to even think about Christmas cards and really did not want to use a flower so I pulled out my brand new, never been dirty Fluffles I found at a recent LSS trip. He is just so adorable. My image was stamed 2 times in black then colored with copics and I cut the balloon out, popped it up and covered it with crystal effects. The candle is covered with pearl drops and the flame with stickles. Whey glad there was no limit on supplies or layers for any challenge I was trying to use today. LOL. Gotta get to work. I will have to comment when I get of this pm. Have a wonderful day everyone.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Cupcake Fluffles
Paper: white, old olive, real red pattern paper, dashing
Ink: black brilliance
Accessories: copics, crystal effects, ribbon, stickles, pearl drops, oval punch, oval scallop Mega & Giga punches
Techniques: Rolling Marble Background, 3d

Kids At Play with Marbles on All Holidays

OK so I had an idea what today's TLC was going to be from Lynn's hint last week and knew I did not have any marbles (lost mine yrs ago when my kids became teens, LOL). I was bumbed out bc I have to stamp every day or the day is just not good. DH heard my dilema and came up with some lead bullets he has for his 1864 hand pistol. So thanks to my dh this is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Marbles. While searching for other challenges to use I ran across today's CCEE Stampers Challenge - Everything Old Is New Again and decided that the marble background looked like kids when they 1st start coloring and from there a Mother's Day card was born. I have had this Kids at Play set for a long time, used it 1 time a couple of yrs ago and just never seem to bring it out until today. I inked up the 3 kids that resemble 3 of my grands with my black marker by omitting 1 of them on the stamp. The sentiment is from All Holidays. Both sets are from Stampin UP. For my layout I found a kewl sketch from today's SKETCH AND STASCH CHALLENGE #9. Such a fun layout for what I was making. I used Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, and Kiwi Kiss for my color combo. I love all 3 of these colors and Tangerine Tango just has not gotten used enough. Maybe Emily will use this color combo before these retire. Have a great Monday.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Kids at Play, All Holidays
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, White
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, black
Accessories: Lead Round Bullets, dimensionals

Doin' The Birthday Cupcake Wattle

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - Wattle. For my layout I used Saturday's PAPER CRAFT PLANET SKETCH. I sponge distressed the edges with rose red for Today's HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #27, Distressed. I loved browsing through Kathy's gallery and finally settled on her MIDNIGHT MADNESS CHALLENGE CARD. I changed the layout and for my color combo I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Basic Rose Pirouettes. I also left off the mat layer behind my focal cupcake image and placed my ribbon horizontal. I used a really cute set from TREEHOUSE STAMP COMPANY called Birthday Cupcake. My cupcake image was stamped in basic gray 2 times then colored. I colored them with copics, applied some liquid pearls to the candle and stickles to the flame. The icing from one of the colored images were cut out and popped up.

Just Buzzin' By for a Kleenex

OK so today I am so tired from working all week and then I get out in the yard for 2hrs last night working on the walkway to the pool and helping dh get ready to build my pool deck and get overheated. I kept saying "OK I need to stop" but kept right on working. Not a smart move:( When I did get inside I was red as a beet and so nauseated. Jessie made me lie down with a cool cloth on my head and glass of water. My mind must have gotten fried because this morning when I read the title of the IC Kleenex all I could see was that bee from the Nasonex ad and hear his voice (ooh how I just love that accent) so this may be stretching it a bit but I have had this set for ever and soooo wanted to use it. The colors on the box under Holiday Penguins were part of my inspiration as well so if it is allowed this is for today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Kleenex. For my layout I am using today's SKETCH SATURDAY # 48. I love this layout, so fun to work with. I cut out then embossed my image layer and matt using nesties circles and scallop circles then stamped the bee hive in black brilliance and colored it with copics. I stamped the chicken wire background (bc it is as close as I could get to honey comb) in black on white then chaulked it. I used my Fiskars scallop with holes border punch. The popped up bee was stamped in black, colored with copics and cut out. I did all 3 of the bees from this set and since you only see 1 of them you are correct if you are thinking I must have not cut the other 2 out. Gess I love cutting but that one was so much of a pain and my carpal tunnel started acting up so I stopped with the 1. He is MIGHTY BEE, and he can make all the honey anyone could want. LOL. Have a great weekend.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Just Buzzin' By, SU, Chicken Wire Background - CHF
Paper: non SU black, white, yellow
Ink: black brilliance
Accessories: copics, Fiskars scallop border with holes punch, Stickles

Bathroom Inspiration By The Seashore

This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Make Yourself At Home where we were to be inspired to use colors from one room in our house. I picked our upstairs bathroom (you can see the picture of my inspiration HERE. The window curtains were made from material I found at WalMart back when we had a sewing department. ggrrrrr. The walls were already painted that pepto pink color and being the new family member I did not want to change everything so I left it. The room off to the left of this bathroom was painted the same color bc it was my dh's daughters room for her overnights before she married. When she married I toook claim on it and the 1st thing I did was change the wall color to a soft blue. LOL . I used Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE for my layout and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Basic Rose Pirouettes color combo and added some browns, yellow, blue and cool carribean, sorry if that is cheating a bit. I have not got this set dirty since I bought it. What a shame, it is just adorable. Inked in black brilliance and colored with copics. I sponged the sun with Summer Sun, the clouds with bashful blue using a punched oval scallop as a mask and the ocean with cool carribean using a torn sheet of paper for a mask. I added some lines of stickles to the ocean for a sparkle effect. Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: By The Seashore - MFT
Paper: Rose Red, White
Ink: Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Pretty In Pink, Basic Gray
Accessories: copics, stickles, dimensionals, oval scallop

I stamped my image in black brilliance then colored with copics and added some stickles. Fairies have to have sparkle right? LOL. I matted my focal image on pretty in pink cs cut and embossed with the large rectangle scallop nestie then popped it up. My dp is from MME stack I am still trying to use up. Hope you like it.

Make A Wish Angel

I am so happy to finally be able to stamp. This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Basic Rose Pirouette. For my layout I used last Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE. I just could not resist the thoughts that came in my head this morning as I was trying to come up with an idea. My dh and I are always teasing about Old Timers kicking in and having to make list just to go to the store or we come home w/o what we went for to begin with. He has 2 and 3 days off together while I am working and I usually leave him a Honey Do list but this time I thought I would lighten his load a bit and remind him days off are for resting and relaxing. I think he will like this list. I stamped the list image and title from "Make A List" in rose red on white. Then stamped the solid heart from "Angel Wings" in pink pirouette, hand wrote the list using a gray marker and matted on rose red. I punched out some hearts and popped them up then popped up my focal image. I used some pretty in pink pattern paper and matted on PIP cs. My #2 panels are Basic gray cs layered with gray ribbon. All stamps used can be found at TREEHOUSE STAMP COMPANY. Will he like it or is too girlie? What do you think?
RECIPE:
Stamps: Make A List, Angel Wings -Treehouse Stamps
Paper: white, pretty in pink pp, pretty in pink, basic gray, rose red
Ink: rose red, pink pirouette, basic gray
Accessories: gray marker, heart punch, ribbon

Inspired Chocholate Girl

We are off on a road trip to who knows where. I will have to make up on comments when we return but for now this is for today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Skeem. I found my inspiration from this White Tea & Thyme. I also used Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Framed by my Welcome sign. For my layout I used Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE and for my color combo I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Bordering Saffron Pirouette. My Framed Welcome sign is stamped with black stazon and on metal for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Metal Stamping. I just got some new rubbah from Whiff of Joy and could not wait to get it dirty. I stamped the Chocholate Girl from TREEHOUSE STAMPS in Esspresso 1 time on a post it note and once on white cs. I cut out the post it page to use as a mask. After placing my mask I stamped the Willow's Armchair in Esspresso then colored these with copics and popped it up on my focal layer. I drew the flooring then colored with copics. For my wallpaper I did something I have never tried before, chaulkboarding, after receiving THIS BEAUTY from Shannon for our anniversary. I just love that effect so much it may be my new obsession. I stamped the large image from Baroque in white craft on so saffron then covered that with bordering blue chaulk. I love how it turned out. Hope you do too.

Whew man what some limits. Dawn this is a great challenge since Shannon and I were just talking about wheels and how long it has been since I used mine. This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Wheely Like Stampin' and I missed Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Framed. For my layout I used Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE and for my color combo I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Bordering Saffron Pirouette. I have a co-worker who is in the hospital so I made this for her. Hope it makes her feel better than this blue whale with a fever and obviously a little congestion as well. My 1 embellishment is from some button accessories. I trimmed the shank off and popped up the pill bottle. My 1 wheel is spunky spots inked with versamark then heat embossed with irradescent EP. I sponged the sea water and sky with bordering blue and used so saffron for the sun in the upper right corner then colored my image with copics using B35 and C3 together. Uplifting Occassions

Well I am late today. I woke up at 7:30. Must have turned the clock off instead of on at 1am when I thought I had never set the alarm then fell back asleep. Can't image why. Since I went to bed at 10pm after being up for 39hrs. Got called into work Monday night for ICU again after working all day. I tried to stay over Tuesday morning and work some in my office. Yep that was not happening since I am in an office alone, the sun was shining in the window and I started nodding. Well I don't get paid to sleep at work so I left and went home, slipped into my night gown, layed in the bed and sleeep for 30min before my eyes were wide open again. gggrrrrrrr. Everything works for a reason though. Jessie and I headed to Tallahassee to find some work shoes. Our local Wal-Mart did some revising recently and we lost our 1hr photo lab and have now have a small section of plastic flip flops and work boots for a shoe dept. What a joke. We have to drive to Tifton or Tallahasee to find decent shoes. I don't mind going to either place though bc I get to stop in Omega and visit with Shannon if we go to Tifton, and if we go to Tallahassee we always either eat at Chili's in Bradfordville or Olive Garden in Tallahassee either choices are um um good. LOL. Needless to say I was ready to stamp this morning since I missed doing the CC Tuesday as it was not even loaded until after 11am.
This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Bordering Saffron Pirouette. I knew when I saw the SC it had to be either a scene or a large stamp so I went with one of my fav Penny Black images. I just love this fiesty cat. He so reminds me of one we had way back when my kids were young. LOL. Image was stamped in esspresso ink then colored with SU markers and copics. Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Uplifting Occassions - Penny Black
Paper: So Saffron dp, So saffron cs, bordering blue, pink pirouette, white
Ink: espresso, bordering blue, copics, so saffron

Pop Butterfly Flower Pot Card

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Metal Stamping and since I was out of town and unable to do it last week I combined it with last Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Flower Pot Card. I just loved that flower pot and so wanted to do it. I used some quickutz flowers and leaves that I vowed to use more of this year. My butterfly is from TREEHOUSE STAMPS - Butterfly Kisses and was stamped on the inside of the pop can with always artichoke craft ink then heat embossed with clear detail EP. I applied some green, purple and red stickles. My sentiment was stamped with lavendar lace. My pot is some textured CS I have had and do not remember where I got it, probably Michaels. I used my new Fiskars leaf border punch. The sentiment on the insert is from Curvy Verses. How kewl to get some flowers as a get well that will never die or get dusty. I love both of these TLC's. That is why I love SCS.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Curvy Verses (SU), Butterfly Kisses (THS)
Paper: Always Artichock, Lavendar lose, Certainly Celery, So Saffron

Happy Easter Everyone. This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER CHALLENGE - Inge, for Saturday's STAMPING VACATION - Viva La Differnce Pop It Challenge my main image is up on dimensionals, and for today's CARD POSITIONING SYSTEM CHALLENGE - Sketch. I just love my High Hopes Images and was so happy to get these dirty. This time I CASEd Inge's AHOY card. I changed the colors, layout, left off the flowers, brads and distressing. I love everything in her gallery and it is so hard to not keep everything as she has it. My image was stamped in Esspreso ink then colored with copics. We recently went to Lake City for a battle and found a scrapbook store that I just had to stop at. While there I found this really kewl paper that looks just like a sheet of tin foil. I picked me and Shannon both a sheet. I stamped the sword on that paper then cut it out. Found out that even pigment ink will not stay on that paper when I started cutting but anyway I really love how it looks paper pieced. Sorry it does not show up well in the photo. Hope you like it too.

DRS Guest Designer

Guess who is Featured Designer for D*R*S designs today? Yep it's me! I am so excited to show you what I have made.
I got some really kewl stamps to play with and here are just a few of them. This card was made with a really kewl Turle, heart background, and a sentiment stamp. I stamped the heart background with Versamark Champagne which leaves a little bit of glitter. The turtle was stamped in black brilliance, colored with copics then cut out and popped up. I sponged the white layer with garden green.

This is an altered can of cashews stamped with a really cute background stamp. I colored the images with copic markers. So how did I do?
I was hoping for some colors to use this week with these stamps and it just did not happen so I used my own color combo and this weeks SKETCH CHALLENGE on SCS for my layout. Yo Yo Yellow, Old Olive and More Mustard to make this darling birthday card using the snail and daisy background stamp. I think this stamp is just darling. The sentiment was inked w/ SU markers then huffed and stamped. I love using more than 1 color on a sentiment. Hope you like it too.

Traveling on Michele's Bday

No project today due to travel for work. We are headed to Savannah after lunch so I had to come into work early to catch up on weekend audits so I will not be so far behind Wednesday when I come back.
Bummer that today's TLC is such a fun one that I will have to wait to do when I get back home (insert large pouty face :( here )LOL.
However, today 25 yrs ago I delivered my last daughter, Michele. She was born at 06:03. So a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY MICHELE. I LOVE YOU even though you kept the family up all night waiting. She was such a pretty baby and still is (pictured on the right). Jessie and I are meeting her for lunch today before I leave town then Friday night we are all going out to dinner along with my other daughter, Shannon pictured on the left, and her family. We require a large table when all of us go out. LOL.
Happy Stampin,
Neva

Work Interferance

Oh well, I want to stamp and have to go to work instead. My plans were to take the day off or at least only work until lunch. Those plans got shot last night around 7pm when I made the mistake of picking up the phone. I knew it was the hospital but thought it could be my dh telling me he was headed home bc we were having a horrible rain, thunder and lightening storms while under another tornado warning for the 4th straight day. Nope it was the supervisor with a request to work for my friend who would be out attending her 35yr old daughters funeral who died from a massive sudden heart attack. ONLY bc of who it was for did I say "yes I will work". Then I try to go on SCS to see what challenge I will be missing and can not even get on the website. gggggrrrr. Glad I am going to work. Have a great day stamping with out me, but get ready bc I will be back tomorrow morning raring to go. LOL

Baroque Sympathy

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. I used Tuesday's kewl COLOR CHALLENGE - Pink Chocolate Hoods. This was such a hard card to make. A sweet fellow nurse co-worker is grieving the death of her 35yr old daughter who died Monday night with a sudden massive heart attack. No warning just instant death. I had to lean back as I was making this to keep my tears from staining my card. I used choc chip for layer 1, Berry Bliss for layer 2a, and riding hood red stamped with tone on tone Baroque for layer 2b. I covered my seams with some dark brown ribbon. My focal image was stamped with the sentiment in choc chip then I inked the flower image with pretty in pink and old olive markers, stamped off, huffed and stamped over my sentiment. This is layered with pink pirouette, riding hood red, then choc chip and popped up. I really like how this turned out but hate that I needed it. I am taking this to work to have all of her co-workers sign before handing it to her at the funeral home tonight.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Close As A Memory
Paper: choc chip, riding hood red, pink pirouette
Ink: choc chip, pretty in pink, old olive, riding hood red
Accessories: ribbon, dimensionals
