Hope everyone has a fantastic Memorial Day.

Celebrate The Music of Life With Shot Glasses

This is for today's FREE 4 ALL # 14 - Collection Inspiration. I am an avid collector of Shot Glasses although I have never taken a shot I collect a glass from every new place I go. The one in this photo is from Nashville, TN what a memorable visit to that wonderful town. I hit it just right and they were having a concert at the Rhyman Auditorium. I can not even remember who all was there but it was a blast. Please pray for this beautiful city as they attempt to recover and rebuild from the floods.
OK on to my card. I used the colors from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 273 - Real Bermuda Krafts. I did not use any particular sketch as I wanted to use my sheet of self made dp for my base. The images are from a digital set called MUSIC OF LIFE and it can be found at TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE. I cut out a drum and sax to pop up. Hope you like it.

Here is a picture of my shot glass collection.

Seagroves Beach with Ashley's Family

Jessie and I drove to Seagroves Beach Florida Friday to meet up with Ashley, Stephen and Grant on their last day of vacation. Grant was such a good baby. He just hugged and loved on me. It was such a treat.

The waitress made a huge mistake after we finished eating our meal by bringing around a platter of each dessert they offered. This is a snickers pie that Jessie just had to havee.

The beach sand and water are just beautiful. It really made me wish we could spend more time at the beach.

Stephen gave Grant some cookies and what did he do but use the sand as a dipping sauce. Tee Hee.

We did not wear our swim suits but I did pull up my dress and dip my toe in the water. It is still cool for it to be mid May.

Strawberry Ice Cream Matchbook

This is for today's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE # 050 - Color combo (Pink, Sky Blue, Brown, Cream). Well I had a hard time with this color combo but am happy with the end result. I just wished that Strawberry Ice Cream was real. As hot as it is I would eat it.
I made a matchbook this time as I needed a break from the traditional card creation. I used one of the digital images from ASHELY'S DOODLES, a digital set from TREEHOUSE STAMPS. I used my new large scallop oval Nestie to cut and emboss my focal panel. I colored a 2nd image and cut out the ice cream portion and popped it up on dimensionals. My sky blue is the shading around the image and the brads.
Now it is your turn to show me what you can do with this color combo. Just be sure to include THT050 in your keywords when you upload so that we can see what you make. Also provide us with a link on the TREEHOUSE BLOG.

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 281. I swapped sides on panels 2 and 4 so that it would look right, hope that is OK Roxy. I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 271 - Dusty Razzleberry Saffrons for my color combo. I framed around my card base with Dusty durango cs for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 273 - I've Been Framed. I absolutely love roses and this one is fantastic. Ashley took a picture of one of her roses from her garden and used it along with a graphic program to create this set called "EMBRACE LIFE" that will soon be released from TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE. I printed the rose image twice and the sentiment in color. I colored both images with copics G40, G82, G85, V04, V05, V06, Y21, Y23, T1, & T 3 then I cut out just the center portion and popped it up then matted on rich razzleberry cs. The sentiment and razzleberry cs matt was cut using Stampin' Up's oval punch. Panel 2 is Ambrosia dp sponged with dusty durango. I sponged the sentiment in rich razzleberry ink. Simply Beautiful Life Framed

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - I've Been Framed. What a fun challenge. I used my newest Nestie Large Scallops. I used a free digital image from TREEHOUSE STAMPS. This image and sentiment are for MAY CONTEST. I love this flower and sentiment and felt like it needed to be Framed today. This image and sentiment are free and if you choose to play along YOU could be a Guest Designer for Treehose Stamps in June. See details by clicking on the MAY CONTEST above.

I used last Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 270 - Mambo Suedes to color this image. I colored with my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol coloring medium since this is a single layer and I did not want my copics to bleed out on the backside of my white card base. My Frame was made with melow mambo textured cs. I adhered a sheet of acetate between the base and the frame. I love how this turned out. Hope you do to.

Have a Toolrific Day

This is for today's TREHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE # 049 - Masculine Theme. I was the member that decided what the challenge for today would be and I needed a jump start on Father's Day cards. I printed, colored and cut out all images. I used copics for coloring. I made some slits with my craft knife so that I could slide the hammer and screwdriver in from the back of the toolbox. Jaylen Turns 2

It is hard to believe it but this little crumbsnatcher is 2 yrs old today. He came over and brought his big sister, mom, Aunt Shan, and cousins Alana, Madison, and Brayden to join in on his special Birthday fun. His favorite Papa grilled him some hot dogs and sausage and Nana made some cole slaw and baked beans. Of course we had to have his favorite chips (cheetos). LOL. We were able to get in the pool for a short time before Aunt Shah and the cousins got there but that was only because of Aunt Shah working and the cousins in school. Hopeful we can ALL get in the pool together soon.
Jaylen's mommy help pick out a cake that was delicious.
Here is Jaylen opening his set of golfing toys. Now he can practice his golf swing at home instead of waiting until he gets to Nana's and Papa's. He has loved this toy since his Papa brought it home. That is all he plays with from the time he gets here until he leaves so it was only fitting to get him one for his house.

I also love the Label Classic image that was stamped in soft suede, cut out and then popped up. I used my spica glitter pen to trace around the sentiment. Not sure if you can see that in the pic. I have all of these rubber stamps that I just forget to use. I cut around her hair in an out of the box technique. Hope you like it.

Picking You for My Hero Swing Card

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 270 - Mambo Suede. Also since I did not get to play yesturday this is for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 272 - Flip Flop Swing Cards. I have not made one of these in eaons. Thanks Holly for the swing back in time, it was fun. I really think men get slighted sometimes with flowers as the norm is NO flowers on a masculine card but some men are confident enough in thier masculinety that they love flowers so I decided to turn a Mother's Day image into a Father's Day card. I used Picking You for my image and My Hero for my sentiment both are from the digital line over at TREEHOUSE STAMPS. I colored the image with copics. I used some woodgrain dp on my soft suede cs base for dessert. My image and sentiment are matted on dark brown.
This is a view of the card stretched out:

This is a view of the card closed as it would be received:

I did resist the temptation to add some embellishments as I felt like that might be a bit too far. LOL. Don't want to push my luck, teehee. Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Picking You, My Hero - Treehouse Stamps Digital Line
Paper: white, soft suede, dark brown, woodgrain dp

Carrie Underwood Concert in Tallahassee

OK, I promised to try to have some great pics for you today after I revived myself from 3 hrs of sleep. I now know how to change teh function on my new camera so that I can zoom in much closer than just with the zoom and get a more clearer outcome but that did not help me last night at 10pm when my battery died. Had I know all of that I would have carried the camera case that I left in the trunk of my car trying to not carry my purse in. I had 2 sets of extra batteries in the case. GGGRRRR. Anyways this is as good as my pics get for this one. I am hoping that maybe I can make another one of her concerts and get some better pics.
The strangest thing was never knowing where she was going to come out on the stage from or on what. A beautiful country tree limb came from the ceiling with this swing hanging from it. Carrie came on the stage and began singing and swinging. As she sang and swang she got higher and higher from the stage. So KEWL!

She plays the guitar and piano and Lord knows what other instruments. A multi talented God Loving lady with a voice like an Angel.
This truck was so neat, she came from back stage in the bed and it was hoisted up and all the way around the auditorium. She said that this was the favorite part of her shows as she gets to see everyone closer up too. LOL.
I am sure I have had a good time at past concerts before but I don't think I ever had a better time before. Definitely worth seeing again and again. She sang 4 songs from her 1st, 2nd and new albumn. It was just AWESOME!

Father's Day Sneak Peek

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 279. Yep that's right my faithful stampers. I am doing just 1 challenge again today. I am going to be dethrowed if I don't stop this but I got home at 1:15am, to bed at 2:30 and up at 5am so needless to say I am typing this as I nap. LOL. Carrie Underwoods concert last night was AWESOME!!, She really is more than a singer, an entertainer! I will try to put some pics together today after work.

Anyway onto today's zombie creation. This image is a digital image to be released May 6th from TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE. I love this Father and Son image in the brush and just could not resist creating a camophlage jacket for them. I used the colors from the MME checkered dp and colored with copics B0000, BG93, BG96, E50, E51,G94, G99, Y21, YG91, YG93, YG95 &YG97. My focal panel is popped up. My card base is Mellow Moss. Aloha for a Co Worker

I needed a really special card for a really special co-worker who is going off to broaden her horizons without me. sniff sniff. I used some lovely lilac pattern paper for panel 2 and lovely lilac cs for my card base. Some lime green ribbon to cover the seam and printed, colored with copics and cut out 5 hibiscus images from a set due for release May 6th from TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE - Alohoa. My sentiment was printed then cut with Nesties Labels 5 then air brushed with copic marker. My layout is from today's MERCY'S TUESDAY SKETCH CHALLENGE # 72. I really was not trying to CASE Mercy but I guess I did since we both used the same type of flower image but I just had to use this Hawaiian set with these colors. I placed 4 of the flowers in an arch like arch then the 5th one I attached under the sentiment. I wanted to inclued the Vellum embossing and realized I have no more vellum.., eeek must be time to visit my LSS 50 miles away. I really hope my friend likes this. There may be no time to comment today as I have a busy day at work and then 4pm will find me, Shannon and Alana "ON THE ROAD AGAIN" to see the greatest female country artist of this century (IMO) Carrie Underwood in concert in Tallahasse, Oh man I can hardly wait. My Mom's Simple Wishes

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 271 - Vellum Embossing. For my color combo I used last Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 268 - Old Banana Ballet. I chose flower images and primas for today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 65 - May Flowers and TOTALLY STAMPALICIOUS - Flower Power. I used 2 sets both from TREEHOUSE STAMPS - My Mom, Simple Wishes. Both sets have recently been added to the Digital Line now available. I stamped the flower images in barely banana then then stem and leaves in old olive and the centers and sentiment in ballet blue. After this dryed I turned the vellum over on a mouse pad and traced around the images with stylets. I popped the vellum up on top of old olive then punched out some ballet blue holes from the large side of my crop-a-dile and used them as faux brads to cover the pop dots. I colored the primas with my SU matching markers and attached them together with a banana large brad and added some ballet blue dots to match the flowers. Hope my MIL likes this.
RECIPE:
Stamps: My Mom, Simple Wishes - Treehouse Stamps
Paper: white, vellum, barely banana, old olive
Ink: barely banana, old olive, ballet blue
