Jolly Ranchers Sketch & Color Challenges

I Combined Todays sketch w/Tuesday's Color Challenges to create this really cute Christmas Card. I needed something today to smile about and these guys just tickle me so much. This is the 17th anniversary of my mom's burial day so it is a hard one for me. This image is from Stampabilities and called "Jolly Ranchers" and I got it last year from Michaels. I stamped it on wc paper w/black stazon then colored it with the pen side of the SU markers and softened the color by using my aqua painter. Image is matted on real red and temp turquoise. The designer paper from Michaels was used for layer 2 and real red for layer 1. I attached a snowflake brad and tied ribbon around the 2 layers then popped up the focal image.

Cracked Measure of Live

Well I am combining again. This is for Today's color challenge using Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, So Saffron, Monday's Technique Challenge of Cracked Glass, and Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge Z fold card. The image was inked w/saffron using SU Markers then chaulked w/real red and temp turquoise SU chaulks. Glassy Glaze applied and cracked then sponged w/saffron, matted on saffron then real red. Photo corner is holding the card closed. Not real happy with how this turned out but here it is anyway. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Combination

This is a combination using todays Challenge Chasers Color Challenge and Sundays Featured Stamper Challenge . I choose THIS one from her gallery this time as my 2nd CASE.
OK we were not to use greens and here is the deal, I really did not use green but remember what happends when yellow meats blue? Yep I inked the flower image part in apricot appeal then inked the stems and base w/Not quit navy and went around the edges of the flower w/bravo burgandy. Thus the stems and base look green. I love how this turned out and will be using these colors again. The sentiment is distressed and layered w/navy.

Featuring "NiteTime Stamper"

Today's Challenge on Splitcoast is one of my favs. I love to CASE really great ideas from the many very talented stampers on SCS.

Today they are featuring "Nitetime Stamper". She is very talented and creative. I have several in her gallery that I may CASE but started with her Snowman Poop Qbee's Peek a boo box. The Peek a boo box was Monday's Technique Challenge that I have had everything to do it with just no time to do so I am combining AGAIN.

The box is in red CS with a ribbon wrapped around it reading "have yourself a merry little Christmas". The designer paper is some I got for my birthday last week from a co-worker. Snowman is stamped in black stazon and colored w/SU markers. I added white puff paint to the rim and ball of the hat and under the snowman also. Image is matted on red then green to match the designer paper. I love these boxes and family and friends will be seeing a lot of these in a couple of months. LOL

I made this baby girl name frame for a co-workers daughter. Her baby shower was today. She had a good turn out and lots of girlie things came. When she opened mine I told her if Isabella turned out to be Isreal she was in trouble, then told her to get it to me and I would fix it. She seemed not only pleased with the gift but quite certain it would be just fine as it was.
I rolled the Wash Day Jumbo Wheel in Black on Water Color Paper then colored with Stampin Up markers. The letters spelling the name are Close To My Heart Rustic Alphabet stamped in the colors of the Designer paper, cut out and popped up on opposite color paper. I decided to place them at angles for a more relaxed look. Oddly enough the colors will go very well with her room. I got to see it today. Yeh. Dec 19th is the due date. All we need now is the baby.
So happy no one noticed that the clear bubble sticker in the heart reads "gril". I did not notice it either until Shannon pointed it out to me Sunday, after I had already given the gift. Talked w/ the mom and she laughed, she has it haning already and did not notice it but will take the sticker off if possible, if not she is OK with it as it is.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Wash Day Jumbo Wheel, CTMH Rustic Alphabet
Ink: Black, Pretty in Pink, Lavendar Lace, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, So Saffraon

Thursday's Ways To Use It Challenge

Thursday's WT challenge was Masquerade. We were to make a card using the masking technique which is really cool.
I made this for a card swap I am in at work. The theme was Halloween/Fall. I stamped the leaf in versa mark at random on the background green layer. Focal images were stamped in black stazon then colored w/Prisma's and blended w/gamsol.

1st Challenge Chasers Sketch Challenge

Yahoo, I did the 1st Challenge Chasers Sketch Challenge. I stamped some of all 3 sizes of bats from Fiskars acrylic Trick or Treat Stamp set on layer A, which is a light orange CS but shows up kind of yellow, in black and matted on black. Then on Layer B is stamped w/the spider and web also from the Fiskars acrylic set in the 4 corners in black and matted on black. Layer C is the Marvy Scallop Circles Mega & Giga. I stamped the image of the Cat peeking from behind the pumpkin image from Hambo stamps in Black and colored the pumpkin w/Prisma Color Pencils then blended w/gamsol. Then added green glitter glue to the cats eyes and gold the the pumpkins eyes and mouth. This is so adorable IRL. The sentiment is stamped in black on a Quickutz tag. Black ribbon tied to the end. I really love how this turned out!

RAK for Halloween from Shannon

I have the sweetest daughter. Look what I got in the mail Tuesday. It is a gorgeous Halloween Card made by her. See the details of this design on her Hoppy Creations Blog. She is such a talented stamper/scrapper.

Sketch and Color Challenge Combined

Well I needed some stampin therapy and today's Sketch Challenge combined w/ Tuesday's Color Challenge was just the prescription required to provide relief.
Layer 1 is Soft Sky, Layer 2 is Basic Grey-Stella Ruby DP matted on Purely Pomegrante, Layer 3 is Label Classics stamped in Purely Pomegrante. The open space between the frame is colored w/Warm grey 70% Prisma Pencil then blended w/gamsol. On the inside of the frame I stamped Many Thanks from All Year Cheer 1 in versa mark and applied some cranberry EP then heat set it . I applied stickles to the grey colored area and inside the roses on the DP because the one I am sending this too really LOVES glittery things.lol.

I'm now ready for a day at work, whey. Sorry no post for Tuesday but I answered the phone at 5:30 to hear "can you help us in ICU today?' and being the person that I am, wonderful, helpful, teamplayer, I said "Of course I can".

HAPPY 29th BIRTHDAY, SHANNON

Yep, my oldest is 29 today. She was born 6 days after my 21st bd but not because I did not try to have her on mine. lol. In fact I tried 3 times to have her and they sent me home telling me to come back when my contractions were 5 min apart. I was so upset the last time I told them I was not coming back until I was holding her in my arms. They could cut the cord.
My hubby's daughter, Amanda, is 23 today also so we are either taking her to lunch and Shannon to dinner or both to dinner. Another busy day but this is the last of the birthdays until the end of Nov when MIL celebrates.

Sunday, October 21, 2007

I had some more play time today and got some new stamps dirty. These are from Hambo Stamps. I do love their stamps. I had to wait for the sentiment but it was worth it. I think this little guy is so cute. I stamped both the image and the sentiment in Black on white and matted it on Black. I matted the black and white polka dots from Making Memories on black. I tied a paper knot from the polka dots paper stip and attached it to the focal image. I love how this turned out.

Halloween Costume 50th Birthday Celebration

Here is my Pirate Jessie hubby. He was so adorable walking around all night with one of his old AC root beer bottles like a drunken Jack Sparrow. I was an 1860's Lady in Morning

Here are Shannon's 3 super hero's of the night. Madison was SuperGirl, Brayden was Superman, and Alana was Wonderwoman. Are they not the cutest super heros ever?
This is the Erskine's household that went home and passed out from exhaustion. Shannon was a mix of Good and Evil. Danny is just full of the Devil so he did not have to change much, LOL.
The kids did not make it out of the driveway good before they were asleep.

Makayla was a precious little Pink Lady
(from Grease).
She had a good time except she did not like Brayden's mask and she definitely did NOT like Uncle Danny's devil mask.
Makayla is putting Michele's clown nose back on for her, or maybe taking it off. It went both ways last night. Aunt Shah helped mommy get ready with KK watching and she did not seem to be afraid of the clown.

FS37, WSC24, Ahoy Matey

Well this morning I woke and left DH in the bed sleeping. We had a very exhausing day and I needed some stampin' therapy anyway so off to SCS to check out the Featured Stamper for this week. I love Sunday's challenges bc I get to CASE (copy and share everyting) someone legally.
I did not get to do Beate's WSC last week so I needed to this week or I was going to bust! so I had to change the sketch layout of the card I was casing to match it.
Anyway I stamped the pirate in Black Stazon then colored with my Stampin' Up Markers (which I love). I stamped the X marks the spot stamp using Taken w/Teal on the Cool Carribean background. I think it turned out OK.

Handpainted Snowman Scrapbook Gift from Sheila

Here is one of the beautiful gifts I received Wednesday when I returned to work. I sorta skipped out on work Tuesday spending the day with my family. When I got back to work I had a couple of gifts from friends/co-workers. That is the only good thing about birthdays is being remembered by loved ones.

This is a photo albumn/scrapbook cover that was hand painted by Sheila from work. She is such a gifted painter. I wish I had 1/4 of her talent.

Triple Challenge Fab Flowers

I did a triple again today playing catch up. this is for Monday's Technque Challenge to make a treat slider (this one is a bag of mw popcorn), Tuesday's Color Challenge of Pink w/o making a card, and today's Sketch Challenge. Whey!
The paper is some I got a Michaels and have just been waiting to use. The flower is inspired by many here from SCS but mostly markies' mom (Faith). She is the reason I bought this set. The flower is stamped 3 times and cut at different levels popped up on diminsions and stickles applied for bling.

My daughter, Shannon, took me to Longhorns in Tifton for lunch then we shopped a little and went back to her house to play.

I made this kickstand card using the color challenge for Tuesday of anything pink in honor of October's Breast Cancer Awareness. I stamped the card base w/Baroque Motifs in Pixie Pink then the focal image in pixie pink on white. Sponged the edges with Pixie Pink then applied stickles.
My other daughter, Michele came to Shannon's after she got off work so I go to see both my kids and all of their kids. Lots of sugar for Nana, Yum Yum. No wonder my blood sugar was up this morning!
My brother and niece took me to Cracker Barrel for dinner and we sat and talked for hours. Catching up on what has been going on lately. Hubby and FIL went fishing and came home with a nice catch. It was a wonderful Birthday.
I will add the pics later today

Dirty Costume Bear

I made this for the SCS Dirty Dozen Autum Splendor Challenge. I combined 4 of the 5 together. Whew. The Central Theme is Autum/Fall. The Product & Material Focus is Cooper. The inspiration is a beautiful plate and I incorporated the colors from the plate. The focal image is colored w/SU markers with the help of e3stamper's demo, cut out and popped up for diminsion. I used some designer paper I got from Michaels and some scraps of other card stock. The vanilla trim in the center I got from the $1 store. It is really neat. Already has the adhesive on the back so you peel and stick. Cool Huh?
I got this beautiful stamp set that is retired from a co-worker who was doing some late spring cleaning. I love this set.

Well today is the big 50 day for me. Yep I am now 50 years old and when my mom turned 50 I was only I was only 23 and I thought she was really old, but I don't think that way now.LOL. My daughter is taking me to lunch, my brother is taking me to dinner and I am going to need to go on a diet tomorrow. But then again I always start my diet tomorrow. Tee Hee. I hope to have some pics from today to show so stay tunned.

FS Good Egg

I went fishing Saturday with my hubby and had a ball so no post for that day. I have not been able to go with him in the past year and we have both missed that. I caught 4 Redfish (which are really good fighters), 2 speckled trout that had to go back and 1 big black bass. He caught a red that had to go back and 2 really big trout. We had a birthday dinner for his dad to rush home for then fish to clean. Long and tiring day but fun.

Today is Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. Today's honor goes to StamperTammy. On FS day we go to their gallery and find inspiration. You are to change at least 2 things to create your idea. I chose THIS one from her gallery that she said looked really stupid but I thought it was really cute. I have a co-worker that is always willing to help with what ever I ask and I made this one with her in mind.

I used some card stock that I had bought at Michaels and the DP(designer paper) is from Paper Studio. Both are matted on black CS. The frying pan, and egg white & yoke are all cute using the Fiskars circle template. The handle was hand cut. I had to handwrite "You're a good egg!!" and then stamped "thank you very much" from All Year Cheer II (SU). Hope she likes it as much as I do.

Hugs & Kisses *Bling*

This is a combination of Todays' Limited Supply Challenge to make a card for someone who's life or a family/friend who was touched by the peril of cancer without designer paper, ribbon or embellishments other than faux. WOW how are we suppose to comply with those restrictions,TeeHee. I also added **bling** so it qualifies for Thursday's Ways To Use It Challenge to "Bling out the glam".This was my 2nd attempt to day at this card. 1st one disaster trying to use SU markers with WC paper (need more practice) so I went back to my reliable Prisma Pencils and Gamsol. Used a corner punch in opposite corners on different levels of matt. I have loved the Cafe stamp set from MFT especially the awning which I do not have YET! so I made a lamp shade with the word window punch and popped it up. Image is also popped up. Background is from Simply said with the solid daisy stamped off then onto the paper in Pixie Pink then the dotted outline stamped using Pink Passion. Center colored w/ Old olive Sentiment layers cut at opposite corners w/corner punch. Sentiment was stamped with Pixie pink then Old Olive. I cut a very thin stip of the pink paper and attached it under the sentiment for a faux ribbon and tied a paper knot to attach to the faux ribbon.

Well fishing was not in the cards today. The wind was though. We will try tomorrow. Day is not a total loss though. I think I talked my honey into a trip to Tallahassee.

*BLING* Roses of Sympathy

Well I needed a Sympathy Card and today's Ways To Use It Challenge to *Bling It Up* was just too temping to not do. So here is what I arrived at. There is a lot of glitter in the shaded spaces of these roses. I found this stamp at Michaels one day and bought it to satisfy my desire for Stipple Rose which had retired before I knew anything about stamping. The paper and card base are from Michael's. Trying to use them up. This is going to a really sweet lady I have meet on Splitcoast Stampers . I don't like to have to send these king of cards out but I hope it gives her some comfort to know that someone is thinking of her.

NEW BLOGGER

Well today I broke down and created a Blog. Need input on setting it up. It will be slow at first but I hope to have everything up and going soon.
