H & M Fall Blog Hop & Giveaway

H&M's 1st Blog Hop,

Yeepee, H & M is having their very 1st blog hop. How to play: visit EACH design team members blog listed below and follow thier directions. This is my very 1st time at participating in not only a blog hop but giving away blog candy so be kind. I am learning.
Anyhow, for a chance to win this fantastic clear acrylic stamp set from H&M Stamp Comany called "Old Fashioned Hay Ride" and a box full of goodies simply leave me a comment telling me what Fall reminds you of. One comment per person daily please. But to increase your chances of winning visit each member of the H&M Design Team and enter their giveaway contest. Be prepared though to see some spooktactular Fall ideas using these wonderful sets as well as some extra added goodies. Whatever you do just have a hoppin' good time. LOL. Drawings will be held October 7th.

Before you go hopping let me tell you what I have in the picture above. The tall project is an altered 2 yr calendar. I covered the outside with vanilla card stock, stamped the Scarecrow and sentiment then coloring the images. I stamped, colored and cut out the pumpkins. I stamped colored and cut out 4 of the scarecrow faces on vanilla cs then used my mirrow stamp to stamp the image omitting the face part so I could have the back side of the head 2 times. I attached some raffia to the bottom of the front & back images and glued them together with a toothpick in the center to stick in a cup cake or pecan tart teehee. I used one of the faces on the back of the calendar cover matted on a giga scallop circle. I stamped the HAND STAMPED image on the bottom just to make it personal. The other face is matted on scallop circle and glued to the top of a small altered pringles can that I will fill with halloween candy and then glue closed. These make such fun gifts. I stamped the line of pumpkins and colored them. matted them on a strip to fold over and make a napkin ring for Thanksgiving dinner. Thanksgiving and fall always make me think of Candied or Caramel Apples, Fairs, Turkey & Dressing and my Mama's famous Easy Pecan Pies. Yum Yum.

Here is my Mama's Recipe:
4 eggs slightly beaten
1/2 cup Light Karo Syrup
2 cups Sugar
2 cups Pecans
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 Tablespoons Melted margarine
2 unbaked pie shells (either shallow or deep will work)
Combine all ingredients adding Pecans last.
Divide into the 2 unbaked pie shells
Bake at 325 degrees for 30-45 min.
I can make these so I know anyone else can and man are they good.

My give away will include the altered calendar, 2 napkin rings, 2 scarecrow cupcake picks (sorry the pecan tarts are NOT included, dh ate them after the pic was taken), the altered pringles can filled with some yummy candy, some ribbon, and the stamp set "Old Fashioned Hay Ride". YEH!
Good luck and get to hopping.

Fall was never a big deal to me because I grew up in Central Texas and things didn't seem to change, except that school started! Now, after having finally experienced "Fall," I think of cool, crisp air, leaves turning colors and falling, and going to the pumpkin patch. Love this stamp set and love all of your fabulous creations! Thanks for the opportunity to win and having this fun blog hop!

Fall reminds me of my mother's spagetti sauce...YUM! She always made it at the end of the tomato season with the cheaper tomatoes. We would get off the school bus and smell those tomatoes simmering from the street! GOOD STUFF! More recently, fall reminds me of Chili!! My husband makes chili now that the weather is, well, chilly :-) I reminded him just yesterday that it's chili season again!

Hi Neva!

A flood of memories came back w/ this question! My best memories of Fall really center around Halloween. My older brothers would take me trick or treating. Sometimes we would trick or treat for UNICEF too. My dad worked at a pharmacy that hosted a big Halloween party in their parking lot. Lots of great candy, a not very scary Dracula, a cauldron of bubbling punch w/ dry ice...and best of all a real live *headless* horseman (who happened to be the store owner!)...makes me smile just thinking of how much fun it was, and that it is the reason why I love it so much even as an adult!

LOL....betcha didn't expect a book! ;) Thanks for the chance to win some *candy* of a different sort!
