Masked Frame In Bloom

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Masked Frame. I am not sure if I did it right Lynn but I sure do like how this turned out. Please forgive me if I did not do it right. I used Pretty in Pink, Pixie Pink, Bashful Blue and Gable Green for my colors. My image was stamped in black brilliance. My mask was the extra giga Scallop Circle from Maurvy punches. I sponged around the mask with Pretty in Pink and then drew around the mask with Pixie Pink. I stamped the images in gable green and bashful blue around the edge of the mask then colored with copics. My image was then colored with copics and I applied some stickles randomly. Hard to see in pic. I stamped the sentiment in pixie pink. I hope you like this 1/2 as much as I do.
I bought this set from CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS. Head on over there to see this and many other fabulous sets at affordable prices.

Dino-rific Gift Card Holder

This is for today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Creative Wall Coverings. I found my inspiration from this gorgeous T REX MURAL. From there I decided to make another gift card holder for Friday's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE where we were to make any type of gift card holder as long as we included choc chip or close to cocoa and a butterfly. Just as luck would have it today's OUR CREATIVE CORNER CHALLENGE - Sketch was just perfect for what I needed. I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Real Kraft Chocolate for my color combo. My images are from 2 different sets and both can be found at TREEHOUSE STAMPS. They are Dino-Rific and Prehistoric Pals. I love them both. I stamped the tree and grass in close to cocoa on the kraft front layer. The T-Rex was stamped on white with espresso ink then colored with copic markers and popped up on the white 2x2 square panel. I used some real red patter paper and the butterfly is punched in kraft, real red and close to cocoa. I stamped the 2 sentiments on the inside panel with real red and choc chip stamped off. The kraft panel at the bottom is for the gift card to fit it. I love how this turned out and hope you do too.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Dino-Rific, Prehistoric Pals - Treehouse Stamps
Paper: white, kraft, choc chip, close to cocoa, real red, real red PP
Ink: espresso, choc chip, real red
Accessories: copic markers, circle punches, MS Butterfly Punches, dimensionals

Faux Leather Birthday Gift Card Holder

This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE. We were to to create a birthday gift or money card, include a butterfly somewhere on the project and use choc chip or close to cocoa. Well Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Real Kraft Chocolates helped take care of that rule, teehee. I stamped the butterfly from Flight of the Butterfly in real red then the dotted outline in choc chip and covered the dots with stickles. OK someone please tell me how in the world to make a 6X9 sheet of cs run thru a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 Cuttlebug folder emboss the entire sheet??? gggrrr. I finally gave up and used a Fiskars folder and still am not happy with the results but I have been working on this for 3 hrs now and ready to leave it as it is.

The inside was lined with some real red pattern paper. The front was decorated with the butterfly and I finally used some monograph clear dollar stamps I picked up at Michaels in the dollar bin. Stamped in red on white then matted on kraft and then choc chip. The inside gift card holder is just a white piece of cs with the gift card attached. Happy Birthday sentiment stamped in real red
RECIPE:
Stamps: Birthday Greetings, Flight of the Butterfly
Paper: white, choc chip, kraft, close to cocoa, real red pattern paper
Ink: real red, versa mark
Accessories: fiskars embossing plate, clear embossing powder, stickles. brads, gift card
Techniques: faux leather, gift card holder, wallet

THT012 Halloween Surprise Pop Up

Today is Thursday and that means it is time for another TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE. This week Ashley is challenging us to make a Surprise Pop Up Card. These cards are not only adorable but very easy to make. For this card I used 2 Halloween sets from TREEHOUSE STAMPS - Creepy Crawly and Trick-Or-Treat. I also used the Spider Web Cuttlebug Embossing Folder inked on the positive side with black ink for the top side. I stamped the spider on white slider part and the front focal image. I colored the spider with C5 and C7 Copic markers. I applied some google eyes to the eyes on the front panel.
For the inside I punched a circle then sponged some summer sun and pumpkin pie for the moon and sponged a punched bat image. I stamped the sentiment and trees in black ink. I just love how this turned out and hope you do to. Check out the Treehouse Blog to see what the rest of the design team created and then come on and play along with us. Don't forget to include THT012 in your keywords when uploading to Splitcoast Stampers site.

Prayers for A Friend Needed

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Real Kraft Chocolate. I made this for a friend and co-worker who has had more than her fair share of hurdles and mountains to overcome recently and then yesturday her load was made even heavier. I know the teachings say HE will not put more on than you can bare but I just don't know that I could carry the load she has had to carry with so much sickness and death in her family. My heart is just so heavy for her and I knew I was either going to make her something for everyone at work to also write in for her. That and prayers is all I can do but I can do that much. I used Flight of the butterfly to stamp the solid butterfly in real red then stamped the dotted outline in versamark and heat embossed with brown ep and cut it out. Then I punched a choc chip butterfly with my brand new punch. WOW I love that one. I stamped 2 sentiments from Hard To Say set in real red on white then sponged with choc chip ink and matted on cc. I used some real red, kraft, and choc chip pattern paper and my base is kraft. Under the real red PP I attached some real red cs after removing the guide from my ticket corner punch and creating a reverse scallop edging. I was trying really hard to only use Stampin' Up supplies, that is harder than I thought it would be and realized that when I picked up some choc scented embossing powder so once again I am unable to put SUO in the keywords. I think I will give up on that goal. As much as I love SU they do not have everything and everything I have is not SU. For this one though, the only thing that really matters is that my friend finds some comfort from receiving it.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly, Hard To Say, Thoughts and Prayers
Paper: White, kraft, real red, choc chip, real red PP, Kraft PP, choc chip PP
Ink: real red, choc chip, versa mark
Accessories: choc scented ep, butterfly punch
Techniques: heat emboss, sponging

Madison's 7th Birthday

Well it is hard to believe but Madison is 7yrs old today. Seems like just yesturday she was learning to walk. She is our little drama queen and loves Hello Kitty, Pet Shop and My Little Pony. Well I was in Walmart Saturday and found this darling Hello Kitty BD cake. I had them put her name on it and boy was she surprised.
Then I gave her a Hello Kitty game for her gameboy and she really liked that. She had picked out this Pet Shoppe Game at Toy's R Us a while back and I think she had forgotten about it but her 8yr old sister had not. LOL. Her Aunt Chele gave her a Little Pony set of ponies and she really loved that. After dinner, cake and cake then we went swimming in the chilly water. All in all she said she had a GREAT birthday.

Viola CASE of Coffee

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER CHALLENGE - jojot. I have always loved and admired Joanne's gallery so it was a pleasure to CASE her HB'day Sue card. I changed the layout, colors, border punch, left off the cuttlebug and brads. I made this masculine for Friday's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Masculine and this time I did not add anything I was not suppose to so I don't have to worry about Judy calling the police. LOL. If you look close you will see his furry mustache and hair covered with brown fun flock for Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Warm & Fuzzy. My layout is Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE and for my color combo I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Cocoa Vanilla Teal. I stamped my chef image and coffee cup on vanilla cs with espresso ink then colored with copic markers. I trimmed my focal image using out of the box technique. The bottom panel was cut with my new Martha Stewart border punch I just bought at WM on a shopping trip with hubby. My focal image is popped up. I left the theme as birthday and these colors scream manly don't they?
RECIPE:
Stamps: Viola, Viola To Go
Paper: vanilla, close to cocoa, CTC pattern paper, taken with teal

If he ever knew it he did not let on. Thank God! Anyway for all of those male teachers who get left out just like in the medical field I decided they needed their day too. I also did Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Warm & Fuzzy. Check out my book worm, yuk I hate worms but he is just tooo cute with his brown fun flock on him. My layout is from Thursday's MY FAVORITE THINGS SKETCH CHALLENGE # 95 and my color combo is from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Cocoa Vanilla Teal. JESSIE is 50 YEARS OLD TODAY

I went easy on him this time. He seemed to need me to. Ruth a co-worker in ICU had a picture blown up and matted it on a poster board with Ain't He Nifty, Jessie's 50 in cut out letters on it. This had black balloons and HB balloon tied to it and was placed at the elevators on 1st floor so that everyone could admire his picture and be aware that today was HIS day. He received phone calls all day from co-workers and doctors laughing and congratulating him.
Here is a picture of Ruth getting her sign ready for all the staff to admire as they come to work. This is a shot of Jessie as he walked into work and saw the evidence of our scheme. And then Pizza Hut delivered lunch 10min after the ICU got 2 new patients. grrrrr, seems that is always the case when we try to have any sort of luncheon or even a meeting everything tries to go crazy. Here is a great shot of all the crew on his shift. in front is Lynn the monitor tech, behind from left to right is Ruth (the culprit), Jessie, Kim and Margie. They are such a great crew and so tight together. I think that is what keeps them all together having each other as support.

THT011 A CASE of Crystal's Wild Babies

This is for today's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE - CASE Crystal's gallery. Yep this week we get to browse through one of our fellow DT members and find inspiration then CASE (copy and share everything) her card. For my project I chose her darling Welcome Little Ones cards. You can read about her card HERE.

We just all seem to love this darling lion image and I wanted to make a boy and girl card so seemed perfect timing to me. Come on play along with our challenge this week and visit CRYSTAL'S GALLERY, pick your inspiration piece, CASE it and load it. Don't forget to include THT011 in your keywords when loading to SCS and place a link with Mr.Linky on the Treehouse Stamps Blog. ABC...123 Back To School with an A+ Sketch

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Cocoa Vanilla Teal what a kewl color combo from Holly who is hosting today. I love these colors. I also loved Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Leafing Pen Resist so much I had to do another. This time I used my silver leafing pen and a Fiskars template for school images and since Shannon is at Pre-K and we all know how kids love to put their hands all over any and everything the hand prints just called to me. LOL. So I decided to go with a school theme for today's TRY IT OUT TUESDAY CHALLENGE # 32 - Back To School especially since I wanted to use these 2 new school sets just released from CLEAR & SIMPLE STAMPS - A+ Darling and ABC...123. My layout is from Monday's 2 SKETCHES 4 YOU sketch challenge being hosted this week by Clear & Simple Stamps. I used the hand print stencil and silver leafing pen on watercolor paper. With a drop of close to cocoa and a drop of taken with teal ink in separate ink wells I brushed some close to cocoa ink with a drop of water bc I did not want the background real dark then I sponged some taken with teal ink over the watercolor paper then tied a strip of wide sheer brown ribbon after using my corner rounder punch to make the 3 edges scalloped. This is matted on close to cocoa. I stamped the images on some PaperTrey Ink Vanilla cs I picked up at CHA then colored the images with copic markers. I cut the pencil out and popped it up. The main image is popped up after being matted on taken w/teal.

CSS Best Friends Forever Sketch

I made this for today's 2sketches4you being hosted this week by Clear & Simple Stamp Company. What a fun layout this is. I used a darling set from CLEAR & SIMPLE STAMPS -BFF Darlings. These 3 gals look like they are ready to tackle anything together and man do I wish I had their bodies. LOL. My image was stamped on white with black brilliance then colored with copics and it is actually under the scallop panel that was cut with Nestabilities large square scallops and large classic ovals die cuts. I attached a thin stip of textured cs to the dp before cutting then attached the focal image under and attached it to the orange textured cs matt. This is popped up onto the rust colored cs. I punched Stampin' Up's layered small and lg oval punches for the BFF which is stamped in really rust.

Oval All Friends

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Leafing Pen Resist. What a fun and kewl technique this is. I used my Baroque Motif as a visual to free hand a flourish with my 1 and only Gold Leafing pen. I am NOT an artist by no means. LOL. I thought I was in trouble when I opened the pen and it was stiff as a board from a yr ago when I first used it but after shaking and pushing the tip down 100 times I finally started to see gold. Whoo Hoo "now we're cookin" I do not have any colored ink spray so I dropped some cool carribean and groovy guava ink drops in the ink well and used my aqua brush to paint on the ink. I love how this turned out. These are 2 of my all time favs from past in-colors. I stamped the oval sentiment with black brilliance then colored with copics and then stickles. Tied some guava ribbon around the focal image on cool carribean matt then groovy guava 4X4 card base. I attached 3 clear gems in the upper left corner. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Winding Down Beach Life

This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Winding Down Summer hosted this week by Jeanne S with a challenge to use a Summer theme. Well this is a set from Flourish Stamp Co that I bought bc I just HAD TO HAVE IT and today it finally got dirty. YEAH! I found some varigated ribbon for Julia's Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Varigated Colors and for my layout I used Roxy's Wednesday SKETCH CHALLENGE. My focal panel ended up a bit wider than I wanted so I trimmed around the right side and now it fits Anne's Wednesday DOUBLEDOG DARE CHALLENGE - Out Of The Box. Whoo Hoo. I stamped this darling image in black brilliance then colored with copics E31, E33, E35, G21, & G24. I sponged some bashful blue and appricot appeal using a scallop oval template then punched a circle and did some reverse masking to some some barely banana for a sun image. I covered the palm leaves with stickles and matted this on wild wasabi. I used some wild wasabi & close to cocoa pattern papers tied with my varigated ribbon. I heated the ends of the ribbon bc the sun was so hot it almosted melted that ribbon. Focal image is up on dimensionals. My card base is certainly celery. The sentiment was stamped in brilliant blue bc I love blue and it had to go somewhere. LOL. Hope you like it.

CSS ABC123 Sneak Peek

Well the kids are back in school by now and that means that my daughter is busy keeping Pre-K kids coralled up and all going in the same direction. It also means that a new release is about to explode in your direction from CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS. Here is a sneak peek of a set coming out for sale in just 2 more days called ABC123. It goes perfect with A+ Darling that was just released on Aug 1st or stands all alone by itself. I stamped 4 crayon images in black brilliance and colored them with copic markers, cut them out and arranged them red, yellow, blue and green (the primary colors that we learn 1st). These are attached around this darling 3x3 card by glue adhesive. In the center I stamped the sentiment after inking it up with Stampin Up Markers of Real Red, Summer Sun, Brilliant Blue and Garden Green and then huffing before stamping. I think I will give this to one of my grandchildren to give to a fav teacher of theirs. NOw let's see who gets it! LOL

This is for today's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE - Watercoloring. Every Thursday is a new challenge and fun exciting one's at that. Come on play along with the design team. This week we are challenging you to watercolor with crayons, markers, pencils, whatever. You do not have to use Treehouse Stamps but if you have them we would love to see you use them. So pick up those brushes, watercolor paper, and coloring tool and let's get to stampin'. For my card today I used Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE for my layout. I used some dp and a set released last year from TREEHOUSE STAMPS - Happy Fall Y'all. I love this bar, I stamped my image in versamark then heat embossed with black ep. I colored with SU markers ruby red, really rust and black. OK so when I first talked with Ashley Bowen from THS I told her she was not a northern accented person and needed to move down south with the rest of us. She laughed and then this set came out. Well only in the south do they say Y'all. LOL. Love how this turned out and I had forgotten how much fun watercoloring is. I attached 2 fall colored leaf brads in opposite corners. Hope you like it and don't forget about Ashley's copic coloring contest going on until the end of August. See details at Treehous Stamps store.

TTC08 Lacrosse & A+ Darling Sketch Challenge

These darling creations were made for today's TAKE THE CHALLENGE - CLEAR & SIMPLE'S BLOG . We do a new challenge every month. This month it is a sketch. See layout below.
1st UP...

The 1st one I would like to show you is made with a set called Lacrosse that will be released on the 15th. My card base is white layered with some dark blue cs. I ran some white cs through the cuttlebug tiny mosaic folder after inking the negative side with brilliant blue. I love how that looks. I used some SU ribbon around these 2 layers. The next 2 layers are Nestie long rectangles and long rectangle scallops. I stamped the image with black then colored in some with a copic marker. The ball in the center was a circle punch covered with glue then fun flock. The sentiment was stamped then punched with circle punch and layered with a circle punch.

Next up.....

For my bottom panel I used some light green cs to look like a painted wall and Black for the top because I wanted it to look like a chalk board. The middle section is some vanilla cs that I ran through the cuttlebug using the distress lines folder. I then sponged it to make it look aged. This is suppose to be the tray that holds the chalk and erasers. I stamped the teacher image in black on vanilla then on some DCWV dp paper and paper pieced the top. I colored the shirk with copic RV23, her hair with E37 & E57 and her skin with E50 & E51. The teacher was cut out and popped up in front of the chalk board. I stamped the image on the black dp with craft white then applied white embossing powder and heat embossed. I applied some crystal effects on her glasses but they are so small it may be hard to tell. The layered ovals are Fiskars punches stamped in espresso ink. The stamp set I used for this is called A+ Darling and was released August 1st by Clear & Simple Stamps. I made this to go along with the Apple Basket to give to my daughter for her 1st year as a para-pro teacher. So very proud of her and so hopin' she likes what I have made for her.

Come on and play along with the design team. We would love to see what you come up with using this sketch. Make sure to enter TTC08 in the keywords so we can find your gorgeous creations. You do not have to use Clear & Simple Stamps but if you have them we would certainly love to see how you use them.

Inspired Lacrosse Scorepad

This is for Saturday's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Bellacor Vases. I love blue so this BLUE VASE really caught my eye. I altered a mini composition notebook with some cs I am trying to use up. The set I used is one of many amazingly gorgeous sets being released on the 15th from CLEAR & SIMPLE STAMPS. It is called Lacrosse. What a cute set it is. I figured this might make a good score book for someone or a good place to jot down moves/effective techniques that might need to be remembered. The iamges were stamped with brilliant blue. The ball was stamped with versamart then heat embossed with white ep. I was still not too thrilled with the look so I applied some glue and whtie fun flock to make it feel more like a fuzzy ball. I also made a book mark and will show you that another day.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Lacrosse - CSS
Ink: brilliant blue, versamark
Accessories: white fun flock, white ep
Techniques: heat emboss

A CASE of Sympathy

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - sleepyinseattle. Yep this is just 1 challenge. I know, my thrown is in jeopardy but this image just blew me away. I must have been crazy with buyers disease when I bought it at CHA last weekend because I just can not image what made me think I could color that gorgeous image as it is on the block. I made my attempt and not sure I will do it again, probably just use it as silhouette image in the future but I gave it a shot anyway. I decided to give it a shot when I found Joanne's A TOUCH OF LIGHT card using a Thomas Kinkade image. I dusted off my prismacolor pencils and gamsol for this one. They needed some love shown to them. I changed the image, angle, colors and theme. I also framed mine to secure the vellum that is covering up my dissasterous attempt of coloring. This is what I envisioned at CHA as I was trying to decide yes or no to get this stamp. The praying hands are from a dollar store stamp and the sentiment is from SU Thoughts of You set.
RECIPE:
Stamps: TK, Thougths of You
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, White, Vellum
Ink: black Brilliance
Accessories: vellum, prismacolor pencils, blending medium, blending stumps
Techniques: Gamsol Magic

I made this post it note holder using a clear photo frame to go with some other things I have made with these darling Teacher sets being released from CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS on the 15th of this month. This one is called ABC123 and I stamped the sentiments in white craft ink then heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I stamped the crayon with black brilliance then colored with copic marker. I took a couple of different angles because the light kept reflecting on the frame.
I am giving this to Shannon to go on her desk at school along with the other stuff I made for her. Do you think she will like it? I hope so.

Pink Butterfly Blessings

This is for today's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE -PB&J. We were to make a pink card and use 1 button and one other embellishment as desired. I used ribbon. I secured my button with twine. Sorry I guess that makes 2 others huh? LOL. OH well. My color combo is Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Certainly Cocoa Blossoms and my layout is from Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE. I used Count Your Blessings and Butterfly Kisses to make this pink card. The 3 little butterflies used for a background stamp are inked in cameo coral, stamped off then stamped on blush blossom. The sentiment was inked with cameo coral then stamped and matted on cameo coral then popped up. The leaves from Count Your Blessings was inked with certainly celery then stamped over the sentiment. The cross was inked with blush blossom then rolled with cameo coral and stamped on white cut out. I tied a button with some twine and popped it up. Hope you like it.

Mona Lisa Moments

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Certainly Cocoa Blossoms. Not a lot of time this morning. I have to go to Shannons to keep her 3 kids while she goes to work, YEH! They are such fun. Anyway I used a new to me stamp set I picked up at CHA from Cornish Heritage Farms called Mona Lisa Moments. I also made my own background with an image that I forgot to look at the name of the set from. It is one of my SU sets I think, "Old Timers" kicking in again. I put some stickles in the centers. I punched then sponged some layered daisies then secured them with a brad and matted on top of a punched scalloped circle. Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Mona Lisa Moments
Paper: Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral, white, Close to Cocoa
Ink: cameo coral, certainly celery
Accessories: ribbon, daisy punchess, scalloped circle punch, brad, ribbon
Techniques: sponging
