Split Citrus Image

This is for today's Technique Lovers Challenge to do a non B&W SPLIT NEGATIVE. This was my very 1st attempt at this technique and I clearly need MORE practice. NOT at all happy with this attempt but it was fun to try. I cut 2 white sheets then stamped them both alike as much as possble in 2 different inks. I used Versa magic Key Lime and Mango Madness Dew Drops then heat embossed them with Clear Detail EP. Layed them on top of each and made my cut in the center. That was when I found out I did not get the full slice image centered, eeekkk. I stamped the cocconut drink from MFT in Close to Cocoa and colored it with SU Markers. I tied some ribbon on the side and gave up. Oh well there is always tomorrow... :(
RECIPE:
Stamps: Citrus & Such, So Many Sayings, My Favorite Things Hit The Beach,
Ink: Versa mark Dew Drops Key Lime & Mango Madness
Accessories: Clear Detail Emblossing Powder, Ribbon
Techniques: Split Negative

This is my 2nd attempt after being inspired by luvn2stamp's Sending You Love. My 1st attempt at today's technique to do SPLIT NEGATIVE W/a TWIST was such a disaster I decided to try again. Not much better so I still need MORE practice. DH is rolling his eyes at me.This was designed using Quickutz Revolutions Cookie Cutters lg Heart then I ran them through the cuttlebug using the Swirl folder and cut them in the middle. I distressed the top of the pink w/Regal Rose and the red w/White Craft ink. Attached a narrow pink ribbon in the center to cover where the 2 join. I popped the sides up and glued the bottom to make a Valentine Candy holder. There are 2 nuggets inside. The small heart is stamped in regal rose and cut out then popped up.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Sweet Talk
Paper: red, Doodlebug designer paper -Love letters
Ink: regal rose, white craft ink
Accessories: Cuttlebug Swirl, Quickutz, Revolution Cookie Cutters Heart

I love the colors you chose for the split negative - so cheery and fun! I really like what you did with the twist card too!
