OLD BIRD BIRTHDAY

Well I finally got to put rubber (or rather acrylic) to ink today. This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - Nikie. I chose her have a hoot on your birthday! to CASE. MIA again

Sorry for no post lately. I have had a really crazy schedule recently. The challenge had not been loaded Friday before I had to leave. DH and I went to the Gulf fishing ahead of Gustav storm. By the time we got all I wanted to do was jump in the pool then the shower, then the bed. LOL. I have to work today so I will have to play when I get home. Can't wait to get to my play room.
Have a great weekend.

Dad's Cabin

^
This is for today's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Pencils and I used a sketch and color challenge from a few weeks ago from H&M Stamp Co Heather Rolin's Blog. I made this and never had loaded it. Hope you like it. It is really hard to make a masculine card look nice without looking pretty. They don't seem to like it to look pretty. LOL.
I used a set from H&M called DAD'S CABIN (check it out this set is marked down for sale right now). I also used SU Flannel plaid background. Card base is Night of Navy with Soft Sky layered. Focal image is matted on green galore. I used ink pads and sponges to create the sky and grass then I drew grass sprigs with the GG marker. I made dots with basic gray marker around the GG circle because it was bare and I guess I was have some stamp retreat hang overs from all the dots we did that weekend. LOL. Dad's cabin is stamped in basic gray on GG, cut out and popped up. I used some navy hemp. Crystal Effects on the windows. I moved that layer to the top of this card to make it like a sign above the door. Don't forget to keep an eye out for the new releases from H&M begining September 1st, just 4 more days. Yepee.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Dad's Cabin - H&M Stamps, Flannel Plaid
Paper: Night of Navy, Soft Sky, Green Galore, White
Ink: Timber Brown Stazon, basic gray
Accessories: hemp, crystal effects, prismacolor pencils, gamsol blending medium, stumps

Miracle From Above Sneak Peak from H&M Stamps

OK Ladies start your drooling. Heather Rolin from H & M Stamp Company has some FANTASTIC sets being released in just 5 more days and this is only 1 of them and it is called Miracle From Above. It is the most precious New Baby set. I stamped the image in white craft ink then offset the next stamp of that image in rose red for the TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Faux Embossing for Monday's challenge. I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Kraft Black Roses, and of course this is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. I concealed my seam with ribbon that I thought was a close match to kraft. I also punched the large hole from my crop-a-dile with black cardstock and placed some diminsionals under them for faux brads (easier on postage). I made this for a co-worker. Hope she likes it and hopeyou like it too. I am just so excited to be asked to join this fabulous design team and to present my very 1st sneak peak for this company. Don't forget to be watching for sneak peaks from the DT and then the big release day over at H&M Stamp Company.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Miracle From Above - H&M Stamps
Paper: rose Red pattern print, Black, Kraft
Ink: White Craft Ink, Rose Red
Accessories: Crop-a-dile, ribbon, diminsional

PAW PRINT

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Faux Embossing combined with today's MO JO MONDAY - Sketch. I just got this set a couple of weeks ago from Close To My Heart and have been dying to get it dirty. This is several cat images. When I went to make this I realized there is no paw print so I had to use one that I had picked up a long time ago at Wal Mart. It is definitely bigger than I wanted but it was all I had. :( The cat image was stamped in vanilla then really rust. I doodled on the vanilla circle and used my white jel pen on the black circle scallop layer.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Paw Prints - CTMH
Paper: rust, black, orange, vanilla
Ink: really rust, vanilla craft ink
Accessories: white jel pen, Giga scallop circle, fiskars circles
Techniques: Faux Embossing

Espress Yourself

TGIF, this is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Oldies But Goodies and for my layout I choose this weeks SKETCH CHALLENGE. I bought this stamp set from a fellow stamper over 3 yrs ago and I think I have used it 1 time so that is why I picked it. I had all sorts of ideas when I bought it, good intentions wasted away. I also have neglected my water color crayons so I used them for coloring using this weeks COLOR CHALLENGE - Ruby Cocoa Blush. The ribbon was bought last year and the seal was still on it. This is sad isn't it? Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Esspress Yourself
Paper: Close to Cocoa, Watercolor paper, dp ?
Ink: Black stazon, close to cocoa, blush bossom, ruby red

Totally Torn Witchin'

This is for today's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - All Torn Up. I decided to use my new MFT set called Totally Witchin' for this one. I also experimented with one of my new Cuttlebug folders. I used the spider web to emboss on black then brushed the raised side with my versamark pad. Sprinked Diamond Dust EP and heat set it. Unfortunately the VM must have also got inbetween some of the raised lines bc I have glittery EP in places I did not want it. :( . Oh well I stamped the spider and cut it out. Whew that is not easy for an old lady like me with contacts in and glasses for magnifying but I got it done. The image was stamped in black stazon on white then colored with prismacolor pencils, blended w/gamsol and cut out around the frame. Matted on red cs stamped with a portion of one of the sentiments. The spider is popped up. Not exactlly to look I was going for but done nevertheless. Gotta go get dh's some supper ready. See ya in the challenges tomorrow.

Jessie's Birthday Bass

Well my dh was off on his Birthday and I had to work so knowing him I knew he would be hitting some body of water somewhere and sure enough he did. Called me about 10am with his big o'le BASS news. He caught this 9lb bass from a friends pond and yes he took pictures and set it free to be caught again. His day was made even if he still only has 364 more before the big 50. I have to tease him to toughen him up bc I have plans in the works for next year

BWC#19 Oliver

This is for today's Brain Wave Challenge presented by ASHLEY BOWEN. This image was recently released and can be purchased from TREEHOUSE STAMP COMPANY. I am so excited that Ashley has asked me and Shannon to extend our Guest Design reign for another month. I used some CS I have had for awhile. I used last weeks SKETCH CHALLENGE for my layout. Feel free to play along with this weeks BWC by using a brown, pink and vanilla color combo and uploading with BWC19 in the keywords. Ashley does love to see everyone's creations.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Danny, Jessie & Madison

August is another big birthday month for us so we try to do them all together if we can and tonight was the night. Brayden's bd was last month but his Aunt Amanda could not make that one so she gave him something tonight that he really loves, CARS.
Madison is such a drama queen and thinks she is a princess, but then so do we that her Aunt Chele just had to get her this shirt that reads "The World Revolves Around ME" LOL My SIL is rarely seen without a 2 liter Mountain Dew and I knew this was for him when I saw it.
My DH is turning 49 tomorrow and don't you think for 1 minute that I am not ready to give him a hard time next year. I can not wait. We had a fish fry and everone had a good time. My other daught Michele had to work so she was not able to be with us but Amanda and her daughter did get to come. I had a house full and it was fun but it was really nice when it was back to just the 2 of us and so quiet again. LOL.

HAPPY FALL TREAT BOX

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Ruby Cocoa Blush, and Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Acetate Treat Boxes. I felt as if I did such a pitiful job Monday that I needed to do another one just to prove to myself I could. I used a really cute set from TREEHOUSE STAMP COMPANY called Happy Fall Y'all. I just adore this scarecrow, he is just too cute. My box top and bottom are made with ruby red cs stamped with cocoa using the small leaf from this set. I also stamped the small leaf using cocoa and then more mustard on top of that but it is really hard to see with the candy inside. I stamped the scarecrow in black stazon then colored him with SU markers cut the image out and adhered it to the box. The ribbon was ran through the 2 pewter colored eyelet then the ruby bead, then the sentiment on the right side and tied in a knot at the top. The sentiment is in a sorta swirl so I cut the layers to fit around it. Hope you like this one better.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Happy Fall Y'all - Treehouse Stamp Co
Paper: Ruby Red
Ink: close to cocoa, creamy caramel, blush blossom,
Accessories: pewter eyelets, ribbon, ruby bead

Creepy Crawly Acetate Treat Box

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Acetate Treat Box. Thanks Lynn for this really Kewl Treat Box challenge. I decided to get a jump on my grandbabies treats with this one and used a really neat set recently released from TREEHOUSE STAMP COMPANY - Creepy Crawly. I inked up the spider from the witches hat with a black marker and drew the other side of his legs where needed. The EEEK is one of the sentiment stamps in the set. I used black eyelets on the top to run my ribbon through. This box is filled with halloween treat candy and will be loved by the grandchild that receives it I am sure. Thanks for looking and hope you like it.
The 2nd picture was done on Tuesday when I decided my treat box was too plain so I added a little something to it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Creepy Crawly - Treehouse stamps
Paper: Non Su
Ink: Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Eyelets

CASE of Fabulous Flowers

This is for today's FABULOUS FEATURED STAMPER - Knightrone. Jessie has an awesome gallery that I have been drooling over for quite some time. Many of My Favorites are created by her. Of my many picks I finally settled on CASEing her CASEING JENNIFER. I changed the layout to fit this weeks SKETCH CHALLENGE and used this weeks COLOR CHALLENGE - Elegant Teal Olives. I moved the ribbon placement and used some elegant eggplant grossgrain instead of sheer. I used my Martha Stewart Border punch in place of the scallops. I used my MS Circle cutter (not easy to figure out) to cut the larger circles then trimmed the largest one with scallop decor scissors (also not easy). This does not do justice to the beautiful creations of Jessie, so sorry Jessie.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Fabulous Flowers, So Many Sayings
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Taken w/Teal, White
Ink: Old Olive, Elegant Eggplan

Blogger Award

I am so touched to have been considered as the reciepent of this Award from Linsey - Outside the Lines. She is a wonderful cyber friend and a very talented crafter with a great big heart. Thank you so much Linsey. I am passing this award onto 5 bloggers who I receive my inspiration from and enjoy reading their blogs.

Thank you ladies one and all for your inspiring creativity.

GUESS WHOOO!

Me and some other really great stampin' ladies which also includes my daughter, Shannon, that's whoo!! HERE is the big announcment. I have been just about to burst for a couple of months now since I opened an E-mail I received from Heather Rolin at H&M Stamp Company asking me if I would consider joining her design team. After I revived myself and had my DH read this also to make sure I was reading it correctly I replied "YES". I am sure the scream could be heard thoughout the entire county at least. Now that September is rapidly approaching I am excited and terrified at the same time I am terrified of being a dissappointment. Keep me in your prayers and be on the look out for some really neat releases coming in just 16 days.

HMSC8, HMCC5 HooRah

This is for this weeks combined sketch and color challenge presented by Heather Rolin - H&M Stamp Company. Come and play along, upload at SCS using keywords HMSC8 & HMCC5. This weeks colors are Teal, Burnt Red, Olive Green, chocolate, vanilla. Sounds like a ice creamsicle, LOL. I used some Non SU cardstock and tried to find the closest thing I have to a burnt red. I have been itching to get this set dirty and today was the day. The image is stamped in choc chip then colored with Creamy Caramel a couple of times for a darker color. The face was colored with a copic marker. I bought this camoflage ribbon many moons ago and have only used it 2 times now. The dog tags were stamped in choc then cut out around the chain part to slide through the ribbon. This accessory replaced the buttons. The vanilla layer is stamped with all of the sentiments from HooRay Sentiment set - got the inspiration from one of Heather's creation. All images can be purchased at H & M Stamp Company. Purchase Hoo Rah and the sentiment together in an order and $5.00 will go to support our troops! This set was inspired by Tracy Dorton from H&M Stamps Design Team! If you wish you may also make donations in increments of $5 at the time of your order. Thank you for looking. Have a great weekend.

I also punched out 1 eggplant and 1 teal butterfly with my Martha Stewart punch glued in the center and folded the wings up. I applied stickles around the butterfly and on the butterflies on the image. The image was colored mostly with Prismacolor Pencils then blended w/gamsol. I did use the marker for the tiny circles in the lace. Hope ya like it.

^
Hello everyone, today is Saturday and I am headed to the beach for the weekend but not before I show you the sketch and color challenge from Heather Rolin's (from H&M Stamp Company) Blog. If you know me then you know I like to combine challenges and so that is what I have done here. The colors are Really Rust, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky, and Chocolate Chip. The main image is matted on really rust then popped up on dimensionals onto choc chip. The base is choc chip with Tempt Turquoise. The 4 tiny squares are really rust with soft sky pattern print matted on top. I applied clear dew drops and then tried to color them w/really rust. NOT happening. LOL. The brown double stitch ribbon is some I picked up at Michaels recently. This also fits today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Oprah's Table. Hope you play along with this fun combo. Don't forget to enter the key words. You can do just the color challenge or just the sketch or both together. Just have fun with it and let Heather know how you enjoyed it by uploading.

Creepy Crawly Sneaky Peaky

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Farewell InColors. I will continue to use them but do understand I will not be seeing theme as much in the galleries so I will miss them tremendously. I have chosen a set soon to be released from TREEHOUSE STAMPS to say a fond farewell to the incolors and hello to some new rubbah on it's way. This is just the cuties Halloween set. I did use the tiny spiders from SU Halloween backgrounds for the 2 corner images. I stamped the witch hat in blue bayou and colored with prismacolor pencils then blended with gamsol. I left the circles white and filled them in with Stickles Stardust. Stickles also on the spiders and stars for shine. The spider on the hat has google eyes. Couldn't wait to use this one. The background was made with the swirly stamp from the creepy crawly set. I used the out-of-the-box technique with the hat since my panel needed to be narrow and the hat is so big. This sketch is from the ANNI-VERVE-SARY Day 4 sketch challenge. Julee is doing an awesome job with these daily sketch challenges. This is my first Halloween card for the upcoming season. Hope you like it.
RECIPE:

Wild Clarabelle & Riley

Finally found time for Shannon to come over and play. We had a great time working on the OUR CREATIVE CORNER sketch challenge for this week. Come on and play along. Stamped in black brilliance and colored with prismacolor pencils then blended w/gamsol. The dp is Wanted from SU. Inspired Simply Celebrating The Day

Happy Saturday eveyone, this card was made for today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Pink Lemonade Purses, using THIS LEMONADE PURSE for inspiration. I included Friday's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Smiles, Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Scraps, and the color and sketch challenge presented by H&M Stamps Company owner HEATHER ROLIN'S BLOG every Saturday. I have really enjoyed following Heather's challenges each week. This one was no exception. I did change the shape from a circle to an oval so that my image would fit. My focal image was stamped with the multi dot image in the set after inking it up with markers, stamping off and huffing. Hope you like it.

Ethel's Smilin'

Hello Friday, Yeh. Well I did not get to stamp Thursday due to work so I set the clock a little early. I need my morning fix OK!LOL. This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY - Think happy thoughts. We were to make something that would make someone smile, My first thought was "ETHEL!" she always makes me smile. I just love these images because they remind me so much of so many of the patient's I have cared for. Because I did not get to do Thursday's challenge I had to add it to today's, ya know how I love to combine! so this is also for WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Scraps. I used scraps for almost everything on here. I used Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE as well. My colors I chose are from this weeks BRAINWAVE CHALLENGE - Colors of White, Pumpkin Pie, Apricott Appeal, and Soft Sky hosted every Wednesday by Ashley Bowen on her Blog. These were really fun to use on this card. Of course Ethel's hair had to be soft sky, ya know how them ladies love that blueish hair.teehee. I just luv'em though. Sorry about messing up the sentiment, I did it last and all the work I put in to paper piecing her dress and coloring and shading, pearls, crystal effects on her glasses I just left it after I bombed the sentiment. Maybe it will bring a smile to someone's face. It did mine!
