Honey of a Christmas

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 299 - Red Old Rocks with a dessert option of a Christmas Theme. Well Red & Olive scream for a Christmas theme so I challenged myself to use a non traditional image and this is what I came up with. I bought this image several months ago and had it colored up already just never could find the right challenge to enter it into until today. I have a co-worker whose dh is a firefighter and I told her I got this image just with her in mind. She has jet black hair. Don't you think this is just too cute. On the inside I have a computer generated sentiment saying "I got you're mistletoe right here hotty". LOL. I hope she likes it.
My layout is for Monday's LIZZIE ANNE DESIGNS SKETCH # 153. My mistletoe image is a sort of flower so this is also for Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 95 - Flower Accents and it is popped up on dimensionals for Saturday's JUST US GIRLS CHALLENGE # 61 - 3D. My image is a digital image from Sassy Studio Designs. I just love these sexy gals. Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Honey FD - SSD
Paper: river rock, old olive, real red, white
Ink: real red, black
Accessories: Fiskars oval template, stickles
Techniques: copic coloring, 3D

Snowglobe Faux Tile Filigree Background

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 301 - Faux Tile Background. I made another STITCHED RIBBON FLOWER following Beate's Tutorial for today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 95 - Flower Accents. My focal image was stamped in soft suede then stamped off before stamping on vanilla which is a close match for crumb cake (since my SU order has not arrived yet), colored, cut out and popped up on dimensionals for Saturday's JUST US GIRLS CHALLENGE # 61 - 3D. My layout is from Friday's CLEAN & SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 118 - Sketch and my color combo is last Tuesday's lucious COLOR CHALLENGE # 298 - Chocolate Cherry Crumb Cake.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Snow Globe, Filigree
Paper: vanilla, chocolate chip

Techniques: Faux Tile Background, Distress sponging, 3D

All Holidays Pocket Card

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER # 199 - Krischir. I chose to CASE her TICKET PLEASE POCKET CARD for more than 1 reason, I love the look of hers and I have not made a pocket card in some time. I needed to dust off that technique and go for it considering I woke up at 2am in a soaking wet sweat. GGGRR who said getting old was fun. LOL.
Oh well I have fallen in love with this sheet of dp from The Paper Studio and this is my last sheet of it (insert pout here) but it works for Saturday's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE # 260 - The Country Porch finding my inspiration from this VICTORIA HEART AUTUMN PLAID QUILTED TABLETOP and also Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 298 - Chocolate Cherry Crumb Cake. Love those colors together.
The things I changed are: I decided to use my border punch on the insert of this pocket card rather than the top flap, I changed the colors and the them, used only 2 brads and rather than a stamped image or sentiment on the front I made a lacey flower topped with a button threaded with ribbon from a tutorial I watched Friday from Beate. She is so talented. Here is a picture of it closed up. My insert was punched with 2 different Fiskars border punches then the sentiment stamped in cherry cobbler. Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: All Holidays
Paper: choc chip, crumb cake, vanilla, The Paper Studio dp
Ink: cherry cobler
Accessories: brads, ribbon, lace ribbon
Techniques: Pocket Card, Lacey Flower

Thanksgiving with the Family

OK so I spent most of the day Thursday while Jessie was at work (except for the 2hrs that I had to go in and work) in the kitchen for his family to come eat dinner with us when Jessie got home from work.
Then today I spent most of the day in the kitchen cooking for dinner to take to Michele's so my side of the family could get together for Thanksgiving. We had a blast and ate way to much again but I do love both of my families and spending time with them is precious. I miss those who are no longer with us but have to move on to enjoy those who are.
So anyway around 3pm I told Jessie "I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE NEAR THAT STOVE TOMORROW", he laughed and asked what he was going to eat? What evah you can find to warm up but I AM NOT COOKING!! LOL.

I hope everyone has safe travels back home if you are away for the holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today above all days please take time to think about all of the things you have to be thankful for.

While Jessie is at work today I will be cooking away, well that is after the parade. He will get home around 7pm and we will have our Thanksgiving dinner with his family. Living the life of a nurse means sometimes holiday celebrations have to occur when you can be there. I am sure all of our patients in the hospital wish they could be home with their families as well. God love all of the nurses who sacrifice so that patients have continued care even on holidays.

Santa Emma on a Bench

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 308. Yep, ladies that is right, only 1 challenge today. I think I hurt myself Monday and Tuesday from all of those TLC's, LOL and I needed a little TLC (tender lovin' care) for myself this morning. This sketch was challenge enough for me today. I decided to use this darling image that I colored up Sunday while Shannon was here for some therapy with her best stampin' friend (ME). LOL.
I used GIMP to place my Santa Emma image on the bench then printed and colored with copics. Today I cut her out since my "out of the box" attempt failed. She is popped up on some white cs. Her bangs are also popped up. I used some dp from last years Hobby Lobby Christmas dp stacks. I added some borders to the top and bottom of the red dp.
Now I am off to work for the last day this week. Happy Turkey Day to all tomorrow.
RECIPE:

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 298 - Chocolate Cherry Crumb Cake with a dessert option of "Glaze" yum yum sounds delicious right? LOL. Well I am all over this one. LOL. Calorie free dessert, yep!

The sponging is also for Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 94 - Sponging. I used Nesties 10 for the matt in crumb cake cs. My base is choc chip and the bottom dp is from The Paper Studio. The top part I made with CB Candy Cane Stipes then colored the raised portion with the 3 coordinating markers from SU. I used some brown 1/2 in ribbon to cover the seam and make a bow. KLM Daisy Border

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER # 198 - criminalgrace (Sarah). Her gallery is full of CAS beauties. I chose her THREE BEERS to CASE. I changed the colors, theme, and orientation of her original creation. I used some dp from DCWV Tango Expressions stack and printed a digital image just released this month from KLM DESIGNS called "DAISY BORDER" on white and on my dp. I cut the center flower out from the dp printing and popped it up over the baja breeze colored daisy underneath. The other 2 daisy were colored with copics to match perfect plum. My color choices are from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 297 - Perfect Breeze Pizzazz.

Viola Thank You

This is for today's FREE 4 ALL CHALLENGE # 39 - There's No Place Like Home, Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE # 297 - Basically Beautiful Browns, Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 307, and Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 299 - W.I.S.H. So I HATE to give up on a difficult technique but for sure I am giving up on this WISH technique. I had a hard enough time with ink, spray, and smash but this one is just tooo hard to get it the way I want. I smoothed soft suede, choc chip then early esspresso, sprayed, closed, opened and layed my vanilla cs down and inked from both sides of the bag and could not get a gradient of browns like I wanted. GGRRRRR I Quit.
My baby girl will be hosting her very 1st Thanksgiving dinner for us next Saturday. I will give this to her. She is so excited.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Viola
Paper: vanilla, chocolate chip, close to cocoa
Ink: Espresso, choc chip, close to cocoa, soft suede

THT076 - Glittery Christmas Tags

Well here it is Thursday again and that means it is time for another challenge. This weeks TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE # 076 - Glitter is such a fun challenge. I love to add glitter and what better thing to add glitter to than Christmas gift tags. This month Ashley has released over at TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE a set called CHRISTMAS TAGS. I printed these tags out, colored them with copics and added some glitter using my spica glitter pen. Here is a close up of these tags so hopefully you can see the glitter better. I will tie some ribon on these and use them later this month when I begin wrapping the mounds of gifts that are collecting in the spare room right now.

Christmas Favorite Candy Canes

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 307. My color combo is Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 297 - Perfect Breeze Pizzazz. My base is my 2nd and for sure final attempt at Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 299 - W.I.S.H.. I tried again after telling myself not to but now I have learned my lesson. At least most of it is covered up and I used my Copic Air Brush System to do the fill in this time. LOL.
My candy cane image is from a digital set just released from TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE called Christmas Favorites II. I used GIMP to flip the candy cane and cross them, printed 2 images then colored and cut the top layered cane out of the 2nd print and popped it up. I punched holes on both side to run my pear pizzazz ribbon through and tied it around them both. I cut and embossed my focal panel with Nesties Rectangle then used YG93 to trim around the inside edge and softened it with the colorless blender. After attaching all the layers I covered the colored sections of the images with purple and blue stickles.
I love Christmas candy canes, just not real fond of the peppermint ones.
Hope you like it, now off to work
RECIPE:
Stamps: Christmas Favorites II -THS Digital Line,
Paper: white, perfect plum, baja breeze
Accessories: copics, ribbon, hole puncher

Peaceful Noel WISH

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 297 - Perfect Breeze Pizzazz. My background attempt is my 1st and only one at Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 299 - W.I.S.H. as I think I like Faith's Ink,Spray, and Smash better. I just could NOT get a good solid background after my 3rd attempt so I filled in the white spaces with coordinating SU Markers and my color spritzer tool. Still not overzealous with the outcome but I have to get to work so it is what it is.
My layout is from Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 93 - Sketch by ltecher. I added my ribbon and bow all the way around.
My image is from a just released Christmas set called "Peaceful Noel" from TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE.
I colored with copics BG10, BG72, E31, E33 & E34 then traced around the horns and sentiment with my Black Spica Glitter pen and added some stickles to the snow banks. Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Peaceful Noel, THS Digital Line
Paper: white
Ink: baja breeze, perfect plum, pear pizzazz
Accessories: Fiskars circle template, stickles, spica glitter pen, digital image, copics, color spritzer tool

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER # 197 - jellybean74 - aka Angela Thomas. How have I missied such a lovely gallery. Thanks Kim for pointing us to her. I chose to CASE her TURKEY CROSSING card. I love the look on this little guys face. I changed the layout, colors and left off the ribbon and button.
My layout is from Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 306. My color combo was pulled from the dp I used from The Paper Studio set. My focal Turkey image and the sentiment are from a digital set called "GOBBLE TIL YA WOBBLE" and the sign is from a digital set called "PUMPKINS A PLENTY" both sets can be found at TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE. I printed 2 images and colored both then cut out the hat and arms as well as the sign to pop up on deminsionals. I cut and embossed with Nesties Circle Scallops die then sponged 1st with Antique Linen then Tea Dye on just the tips. I think I will give this to my SIL since the colors seem to lean toward masculine.

Paper: white, The Paper Studio
Ink: antique linen, tea dye
Accessories: Nesties Circle Scallops, deminsionals

It's Thursday and that means time for another TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE # 075. This week Ashley has created a sketch for us to follow and this is what I came up with.

I found this darling dp from My Minds Eye. I love it. I used GIMP to manipulate my images and sentiment that are from released 11/10 called PEACEFUL NOEL from TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE. I colored with copics then traced the sentiment and horns with my copic spica glitter red and clear glitter pens. I used some crystal gems for embellishments.

I colored the image with copics using Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 296 - Poppy Tempting White combo. My dp is from DCWV Tango Expressions. A Cheeky Christmas

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 296 - Poppy Tempting White. Oh I was sooo excited when I got home after a long day of work. I had happy mail. My order came in and this cute cheeky set was in it. Whoo Hoo. I could not wait to get her dirty. I inked the image with tuxedo black adirondack ink on my brand new X-Press IT White blending paper then colored with copics. I cut and embossed my main panel with Nesties circle scallops. This started out as a different sketch but ended up with the one from this weeks SUGAR CREEK HOLLOW. I added some glitter with my spica clear glitter pen to her eye shadow, muff, and the ball on the end of her hat for today's FLOURISHED TIMELESS TUESDAY CHALLENGE - Glitter. I used some textured tempting turquoise cs, and stamped the circle image in Champagne Versamark ink on the poppy red cs. I covered the seams with some red ribbon and matted everything on white. I also stamped on the inside still trying to keep my promise to myself. YEAH for me. I think I like this new paper for copic coloring. It does seem to blend better than GA Pacific.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Cheeky Christmas - TGF
Paper: whtie, X-Press It Blending Bright White, Tempting Turquoise Textured, Poppy Red
Ink: Adinrondack Tuxedo Black, VersaMark Champagne
Accessories: Nestie Scalloped Circles, ribbon, spica glitter pen, copics

Sympathetic Close as a Memory

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 296 - Stamping with Water.
My color combo is today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 92 - Color (Pink, Old Olive, Kraft, White with optional Marina Mist). I sponged pretty in pink, marina mist and old olive blending them then stamped the image with water. After it dryed I inked the image again with matching markers then huffed and stamped off to the side a bit. The sentiment was inked with soft suede stamped off then stamped under the image. It really is not as dark IRL as it appears in this pic. ggrrr. I distressed the edges with soft suede ink pad then pinked just the edges of '"Crosshatch" background in soft suede and stamped over the entire panel lightly after stamping off. I sprayed a thin mist of glitter spray over the image and let it dry. I made a sympathy note card to go with a flower arrangement for a grieving family. I will punch a hole and run some ribbon when I get the flowers. This sympathy card is also for last Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 91 - Sympathy. Seems like I am using these up as soon as I make them lately. I am really proud of myself as I have been trying really hard to complete my cards inside and out lately. I get so caught up with just trying to finish the outside and then when I need it I have a hard time finishing it on the inside.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Close As A Memory, Crosshatch - SU
Paper: white, kraft
Ink: pretty in pink, soft suede, marina mist, old olive
Accessories: glitter spray
Techniques: Stamping with water, stamping off, huffing

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER CHALLENGE # 197 - Jazzytobi. For this one I chose to CASE her FROG CARD. I used a brand new image from KLM DIGI STAMPS - Cheesy Mouse. I used a computer generated sentiment of my own below the image. I love that M&M's commercial where Santa and the M&M's meet and pass out saying "they really do exist". It really cracks me up. LOL. Well since mice have wagging tails this is also for Friday's FRIDAY'S FREE 4 ALL CHALLENGE - Tail Wagging Greetings. THT074 Christmas Favorites with Olives

This is for today's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE # 074 - Color Challenge (Olive, Ivory, Plus 1). My plus one is obviously RED, I mean how else can you make a Christmas card without olive and red together? LOL.
I had this fantastic sheet of Basic Gray - Jovial dp and was dying to use it.
I created my wreath using the hollies & berries image from a set due to be released this month called Christmas Favorties II from TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE. That really is vanilla cs it is just the lightest vanilla I have so in the pic it looks white. I guess I should have sponged some creamy caramel on it to tone it down. Oh well. I colored, cut out and popped up the bow. I used Mega Scallop circle Marvy punch for my focal panel. My sentiment was cut using "out of the box" technique then colored with my copic R27. I used YG93, YG97, R25, R27 for coloring.
Now it is your turn. Let's see what you come up with and for some inspiration visit the rest of our THS Design Team:

Happy Autumn Blessings

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 305, Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 295 - Peach Espresso Craze and Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 297 - Embedded Image.
I used 2 sets from TREEHOUSE STAMPS COMPANY called Autumn Blessings and Happy Fall Y'all. OK I am from the deep Southern part of Georgia so you know I just loved it when Ashley came out with a set and sentiment that had a "y'all" in it right? I meam how could I not love it. LOL.
I stamped the happy fall sentiment in peach parfait on panel 4 to cover the entire panel then heat embossed 3 times. I then stamped the leaf in versamark and heat emossed the Stampendous Pearluster Carnelianep powder. I found some kewl dp from DCWV for my base. My single sentiment is stamped in cajun craze on vanilla and the edges sponged. I made a tag with my Making Memories circle tag maker then covered the metal with my gold leafing pen.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Happy Fall Y'all, Autumn Blessings - Treehouse Stamps
Paper: vanilla, DCWV dp, cajun craze, peach parfait
Ink: cajun craze, peach parfait, versamark

Thoughts & Prayers

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Peach Espresso Craze given to use by Mary, yeah what kewl colors for this time of year.
I just had to do another one of Holly's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Embedded Image from Monday and combined it with Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 163 - Sympathy since they just all seemed to go together so great. For my layout I am using Monday's MOJO MONDAY SKETCH # 163.
I started with vanilla cs and stamped my Stampabilities Le Lendon Script in espresso ink then sponged some Antique Linen and distressed the edges with espresso. The I sponged my versamark pad, clear detail embossing powder and heat set it 3 times. I stamped the image in versamark and found some Stampendous Pearlsuter Carnelian embossing powder I had never used before. It looks really close to cajun craze IRL but my photo does not show it's true colors. grrr. Anyway I used some peach parfait cs trimmed with my Fiskars border punch on top of my TLC panel and stamped the sentiment in cajun craze. I also added a thin strip of cajun craze under the border punch so you could see the color through the holes. I used espresso cs trimmed with Nesties long rectangle scalloped die for my matt. My base of espresso cs is topped with vanilla that was also sponged with antique linen then distressed with espresso ink on the edges and some peach parfait ribbon for accent.

Shannon will be so proud of me I completed the inside as well. Whoo Hoo. I stamped the image in cajun after stamping off then the sentiment in espresso on vanilla. I have unfortunately depleted my stash of sympathy cards so I am restocking hoping I will not need them anytime soon.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers - SU, Le London Script - Stampabilities
Paper: vanilla, espresso, peach parfait
Ink: espresso, cajun craze, antique linen
Accessories: ribbon, Fiskars border punch,Nesties Long Scalloped Rectangles
Techniques: heat emboss, dry emboss, die cut, embedded image
