Wonderful Garden Silhouettes

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 187 and I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Groovy White Sands also. I used Fall Flowers dp for panels 3A,B,&C matted with groovy guava and these are then matted on sahara sand. My focal image is stamped 2 times. I do not have Sahara Sand ink pad Yet!, so I had to use River Rock. I inked the stamped then with a qtip removed the ink from the flower parts and used my cameo coral marker to ink the flowers, huffed and stamped. I applied stickles to the flower sections distressed the edges with groovy guava then matted on sahara sand then guava. This is popped up on dimensionals. The card base is white with sponge distressing using guava. Sentiment is from Wonderful Words and stamped in guava. On the inside I stamped the image in guava again after stamping off, then a sentiment from Life's Special Moments over the floral image. Really pretty on the inside too. Faith would be proud that I am actually using what I learned at the retreat. LOL

Embrace LIfe in my Thougths

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Groovy White Sands combined with Julee's MOJO MONDAY - Sketch. I have been blogging more lately and finding some really kewl challenges out there. Thank you ladies for the continued inspiration. This color combo was definitely a CHALLENGE to use. I began with a white card base sponge distressed with guava ink, Ginger Blossom designer paper, Sahara sand and groovy guava stamped with polka dot background stamp in their respective colors. The sahara layer was punched with Fiskars scallops with holes border punch. My focal image was stamped in black stazon then colored with prismacolor pencils, blended with gamsol stickles to the center, sponge distressed with guava, cut out with Fiskars circle template and matted on Guava punched with mega scallop circles. I used my white jel pen to put dots in the scallops. This is popped up. The very top is a ric rac ribbon clear acrylic stamp I had forgotten all about and never used. sad isn't it :( It is stamped on white with guava, cut out and adhered. The sentiment is also a clear acrylic stamp I got in the dollar bin at Michaels never used.

Oliver 's Simple Sketch 1st Sneak Peak

I am just so excited I can hardly hold it in. Last week Ashley from Treehouse Stamp Company contacted ME to ask if I would like to be a Guest Design Team Member. Well I thought really hard for at least 1 minute after I started back breathing before I hastily replied to her email. 'YEH!!! So here is my very 1st Sneak Peak of "Oliver the Owl" and "What a hoot sentiment" soon to be released by TREEHOUSE STAMPS. Hope you like it. Oliver was stamped in black stazon then watercolored using Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and a hint of brown. I sponge distressed the edge of the oval with soft sky then matted on soft sky. The ovals were cut with my Fiskars oval template. I matted apricot appeal pattern paper on apricot appeal cs. The card base is pumpkin pie stamped with Crosshatch using pumpkin pie. Hope you like it. I had a blast making it. Thanks so much to Ashley for this wonderful opportunity to expand my stamping abilities or at least learn something from them. LOL. I took the picture with my card upside down so the eyes looked like they were rolled upward but the picture just does not do Oliver justice as the color is not captured well. He is really cute IRL.

Happy 50th Birthday Fishes Ricky

Well since I live for challenges in the morning and the WTC was not loaded yet I went over to the Dirty Dare Challenges and played there. Also because I am the Queen of Challenge Combo's I grouped 4 of these together. I began with Jody's IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RIBBON presented on Monday. Next was Michelle's Masculinity and Julie"s Simple White Single Layer presented on Tuesday. Then I found Jenn's INSPIRATIONAL CAKE presented on Wednesday. Now before you start thinking "what kinda nut is this to come up with a Bass when looking at a beautiful cake?" I found my inspiration in that gorgeous green ribbon which also is Jody's challenge because the 1st thing I saw was the ribbon and I built from there. I went upstairs and found my ribbon then decided since my dh has a close cousin that we fish with when we can having his 50th BD surprise party Saturday(shhh it's a secret) and I needed a card anyway it just all sorta fell together. ((((clap))). Yeh!. I cut an oval from my Fiskars oval shapes and used my chaulks to color the inside of the oval and the Bass image. I omitted the "belated" from the sentiment to allow room to write 50th. Hope you like it and him too.

Both Way Bo Ho Blessings

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE combined with Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Rocking Vanilla Sky. I started digging through my stash of SU designer paper and ran across this sheet from Fall Flowers and everything else sorta fell in place. Love it when that happens. That sheet is matted on soft sky. The focal image is stamped with Both Way Blossoms using river rock then colored the flower w/copic marker adn stickles in the center. I stampaed the sentiment in soft sky which is so light it is difficult to see in the pic (close up on my blog) but it reads "Blessing brighten when we count them. Thank You for blessing my life in such a wonderful way!". This is matteed on river rock. River rock stamped with Bo Ho Backgrounds using River Rock ink and matted on vanilla card base. Soft Sky double stitched ribbon layered with river rock double stitch ribbon in the knot.

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Rockin' Vanilla Skies. My first thought was Wedding/Anniversary so I stayed with that. I wanted to use this weeks sketch that is on HEATHER ROLIN'S BLOGagain. I just love that layout. I used river rock cs with the birds and swirls cuttlebug folder after inking up the negative side with river rock for the base layer using a previous TECHNIQUE LOVERS - Cuttlebug the Negative Effect. Soft Sky pattern print for the next layer. River Rock with senitment stamped in Vanilla craft ink and embossed with Ranger enchanted gold EP then heat set for the thin layer. I tied some vanilla sheer ribbon with 2 gold wedding ring embellishments into a knot around the rr layer. The focal image is stamped with river rock on vanilla cs and cut out. I used 3 different prima flowers brushed with a copic marker matching soft sky and a daisy brad in the center. Stickles applied to the brad and randomly to the primas. Looking at it now I probably should have layer the RR pattern piece. What do you think?

Autumn Harvest of Challenges

This is for Sunday's FEATURED STAMPER - Susiestampalot and a big congrats to ya gurl. I chose her HAPPY FALL PUMPKINS card to CASE this time. I was inspired by the pumpkins and combined that inspiration to use Heather's HMSC4 and HMCC1 sketch and color challenge she is hosting from her blog. Join in on the fun. I live for challenges. When I first saw the colors I thougth "fall" but then strayed away from those thougths only to return to them this morning. The pumpkin is stamped in black stazon then colored with prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. I started with so saffron then added a hint of yo yo yellow touches of only orange. Punched out with circle punch and matted this on real red circle. I had this dp for a while now and thought it went along with the color scheme so I added it. I ran red cs through the cuttlebug distressed lines folder and matted on only orange. So saffron stamped with so saffron using the leaf stamp and sentiment in only orange. Hope you like it and play along. Heather would love that.

Quiet Moments

This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Folding, Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Spiices, Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE, Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Almost Wild Saffron, and Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Got Grid?.This was a fun project. I just could not think of anything Thursday to use from my spices as I do not have but a few. After I got to work I remembered I had an old bottle of dried chives and they could work for grass so this morning I pulled out my neglected beloved TREEHOUSE STAMPS - Quiet Moments. Image is stamped in stazon then colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended w/gamsol. I used my glue pen to dot areas around the bottom of the focal image and crushed the chives on top of it. I made just my focal image panel my special fold and the inside is stamped with just the dog on the left corner and the sentiment reading "Quiet moments allow the heart to dream". The base wasabi layer has the grid lines scored and I took a qtip inked with wasabi to lightly shade the raised lines. What'cha think?

Well this is not the norm for me but today 'I LOVE MY CARD! I just love how it turned out. The So Saffron base layer was created using Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Got Grid?. I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Almost Wild Saffron. And the layout is today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. Thanks ladies for these wonderful challenges that keep me thinking and creating. I used my Fiskars paper cutter to line up the score lines then my saffron marker to highlight the raised lines. Layer 2 is wild wasabi pattern paper and layer 3 is wild wasabi cs with amethyst ribbon layered. I attached a green brad on each end. My focal image is stamped with basic black on white and layered with amethyst. I colored the cake and balloon with markers then applied crystal effects to the balloon. I am still recovering from a weekend stamp retreat and playing catch up so this is for Sunday's FEATURED STAMPER - Stephanie combined with today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Almost Wild Saffron. Love these colors together and fantastic gallery to browse through and CASE. I chose her I WAS MISSING MY MOJO card to CASE. I changed the stamp set, colors, left off the paper piercing and replaced it with doodling, added ribbon to cover the seam, left off the brad and stamped my sentiment on my scalloped border layer. I used a sheet of saffron pattern prints for my background layered on amethyst base. My focal image is stamped in wasabi with Pretty Petals background stamp. I stamped the hummingbird once then colored it with markers and blender pens from the ink pad. I stamped the butterfly twice from pretty amazing in amethyst then colored with markers. Images are cut out and popped up on focal image layer except for one butterly is adhered to focal image then layered with the popped up butterfly. H & M Stamp Co Sketch Challenge

Good morning all, I am away at a Stamp Retreat and I am sure I am having a ball but I wanted to post this wonderful sketch challenge I found on Heather Rolin's Blog. She is the owner of H&M Stamp Company and she presents a new sketch every Saturday. Click on over there and check it out, then join in on the fun. This HMSC3 and I love it as much as the 1st two she has presented. I wanted to use Dad's Cabin set so I had to make it masculine. How do you make a masculine scallop card? LOL. Anway this is what I came up with. I stamped the mesh background on vanilla using wild wasabi and matted on choc chip. Then I attempted to punch the green cs using my new Fiskars scallop with holes border punch. This was not an easy task to work around those 2 corners but I do not have the nestabilities YET. Thank you Heather for the nudge to place my order. The vanilla panel on my focal images is sponged with wasabi. The images are stamped in wasabi, close to cocoa, and real red. the lure is coloring with real red prisma then blended w/gamsol then I used my white jel pen to color the bottom section. We have some red and white lures we often use like this. The rod and net handles colored with CTC pencil and the reel and rim of the net colored with a silver marker. All 3 images are popped up on dimensionals. The Choc chip strip across is layered with green ribbon and the circle image is Circle of Friendship in real red punched out and matted on red then green SU scallop punch, then popped up on dimensionals. I will give this to, you guessed it DH for his birthday in August. I think he will love it.

New Car Fever - Now I can FOCUS

Sorry it has taken me a couple of days to post this but better late than never huh? I have been busy packing for our weekend stamp retreat in Lake City, FL. I am so excited I am not sure how much sleep I am going to get.
Anyway, I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee I have had since I rolled off the lot in October 2003 with 63 miles on it. I LOVED my Jeep, but when gas got to $3.50 a gallon and a full tank ran $70 I started wondering what I was going to do. I had noticed me and dh had dropped down the number of beach trips from 5-6 a year to None so far this year. EEEKK. I decided something had to change. He has a full size Dodge Ram truck so that he can pull any 1 of the 3 boats we own. yeh I know but what can I say we love to fish. He surely could not trade for a smaller more economical truck or car to save on gas so I went to the Ford dealer Monday and signed away my life again. Don't laugh but I cried all the way to the car lot Tuesday when I was going to pick my Focus up and hand over my beloved Jeep. They promised me they would find a good home for it. 3 days later I can honestly say I LOVE MY FOCUS. It has Sirius, Synch, a 6 CD disk changer, and is just a smooth ride. I went to a nearby town last night and got 44 mpg where my Jeep would get 18-22mpg. So I decided to show you a pic of my new baby. And here she is, Vista Blue, they had to send to Atlanta to get one for me, but if you know me you know Blue is my color. They had a Silver one but I had to have blue and I got it. We both love it and both my girls are hoping I leave it to them when I am gone but until then I am hearing "when you gonna let me hold it?". teehee

Fine In Full Bloom

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE and I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Groovy Banana Chips. This card took longer than it should have so I did not EVEN attempt to add the TLC from Monday even though I wanted to. LOL. I stamped the images in choc chip on white and then colored them with markers. I used the stamp pad and blender pen for the guava color. All four squares are distressed and matted on choc chip. The Guava layer is stamped with Fine Lace in guava then matted on choc chip. I tied a couple of guava paper knots at glued them to opposite corners of the larger square. Glitter glue to the center of the flowers and then dabbed randomly around the bee and the flower images. I attaced tiny diamond accents to the center of 2 of the flower images. I will add a sentiment when I get ready to use this one.

Friends Are Like So Many Sayings

I am so excited I can hardly stand it. There are only 5 days left before we leave for my very 1st weekend Stamp Camp. I have gone to 1 Shoe Box Swap that lasted all day but never for an entire weekend. Faith (aka:Markies Mom on SCS) invited me and my DD Shannon (aka:e3stamper) many months ago and the anticipation is just overwhelming. I can hardly wait. I work in an office by myself and unless the phone rings or I have to go to one of the nursing areas or a meeting my contact with human life form is minimal to say the least so to spend an entire weekend with 20+ other stampers is just unimaginable. I will be MIA for Saturday & Sundays challenges but will play catch up when I return. I may try to see if I can combine the 2 challenges if possible. I will try but it may be hard for me! ;) OK onto today's project.
This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - {TENEALE} and I chose her LONG TIME FRIEND card to CASE. I changed the colors to use this weeks COLOR CHALLENGE - Purely Wild Celery. I kept the layout but switched it around just a bit. I love this pattern in the Wild Wasabi pallet of print pack and just did not want a small piece or to cover it up too much. I applied stickles to the inside section of the flowers in the print then matted it on purely pomegrante. I also changed the image using Friends are Like Flowers since I do not have the one she used. Image was stamped in black stazon and colored with prismacolor pencils then blended with gamsol. I applied stickles and tine diamond gems. I also used my new cool grey Copic marker to do some shading. This is matted on pomegrante then wild wasabi. The sentiment is stamped in pomegrante on the certainly celery card base.I tied pomegrante double stitch ribbon and certainly celery grosgrain together.

Birthday Cupcakes for Kim

Well I have just received inspiration from everywhere today so even though I had to work today, my day off :( I had to stamp. This is for today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE. I got mine for this from the colors. I have had this set for a few weeks now and have not yet inked it up. Well this weekend Kim from My Favorite Things turns 40, Yeh! ((hands clapping)) and to help her celebrate I dirtied up my new set so this is also for My Favorite Things Guest Design Challenge. I pierced around the focal image and used my choc chip marker for faux stitching so this is also for July Ambassador #2 Challenge - Paper Piercing. I used this weeks SKETCH CHALLENGE for a layout. I just love this one. The tray was stamped in choc chip. the cupcakes were stamped with cranberry Crisp then colored with cranberrry crisp pad using blender pen. The icing is very vanilla craft ink and white detail embossing powder bc the vanilla just did not show well enough. The spinkles on top are stamped with versa mark and embossed with copper EP bc I am out of brown. Boy did I need to know that last week while we were shopping at Michaels. LOL. I chose these colors because as my dd e3stamper pointed out on her blog MFT BIRTHDAY red velvet is my fav of all time so the sprinkles are supposed to be pecans on top of cream cheese icing. The sentiment is also embossed with copper EP. I had a hard time with taking a good picture that did not show the glare from the EP, all 6 cupcakes have the specs on them it is just not easy to see.
Stamps: Warmest Regards, What's Up Cupcake, MFT
Paper: White, Cranberry Crisp, Choc Chip, Everyday Tango (My Minds Eye)

Stamp Sets - here Shore Thing , Fancy Flexible Phrases, Cheesecloth Background used
Begin with dividing 8 1/2 x 11 CS sheet in half by making it 4 1/4 x 11.
Score at 3 , 5 1/2, and 8 then fold and press with bone folder as picutured.
On the inside fold mark at 3/8 and 3 7/8. Slide word window punch in half way and punch left side then right side. Should look like this after.

Slide the circle punch in about 1/4 way in the center of where the word window punches were used and punch.
This gives the gift card enough room to slide in and out of the slot. (you may also make a slide to attach the gift card to if you wish)
The idea for this design was a combined effort of myself and Shannon. I wanted something masculine bc guys get the short end sometimes when we think of creativity for them. I had made 2 or 3 of these that I felt like just needed a little kick and was asking for her creative mind to help. This is what we came up with. I stamped the front and back of the card with Cheesecloth background using cool carribean for a tone on tone look. (You may also wish to add stamped images on the inside panels) For my focal images the chair was stamped with cool carribean, the sand image was stamped around the chair and on the bottom with close to cocoa and the birds were stamped on the bottom with Close to Cocoa. The sentiment was stamped in the upper right corner with close to cocoa. This was matted on the kraft layer then matted on the card base. I tied the hemp around the entire card loosely to help keep it closed and to aid in sliding it off to get into the card. Now it is your turn. Please provide me with some feedback and let me see your wonderful creations.

Pastel Pounced Touch of Nature

Good Tuesday morning everyone. This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Purely Wild Celery. I combined it with Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Chaulk Pouncing and used H&M Stamp Company HMSC1 -SKETCH CHALLENGE for my layout. Heather is going to be having a new sketch every Saturday on her blog. I love new sketches so I had to try this one too. I sponged some Bravo burgandy(close to pomegrante as possible) and certainly celery chaulk on the white cs then stamped my butterfly image in versa mark. I then sponged deeper with the burgandy and celery chaulks. Matted this on pomegrante cs, applied stickles to the outer edges of the image. The sentiment was stamped in Wild Wasabi and then the mess came. I tried to use my Fastenator again and messed up the left side of my focal image. Well Kelly always said there are no mistakes in stampin' only opportunities for embellishments so I grabbed some pomegrante double stitch ribbon and my new Martha Stewart butterfly punch and went to work. The main image is popped up over the 2 squares of Wild Wasabi pattern paper and pomegrante embossed with cuttlebug birds and swirls squares which are then matted on certainly celery. Card base is 4 1/4 X 4 1/4.
