Thoughts & Prayers

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Krafty Saffron Nights. I included Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Faux Burnt Edges bc the colors just called for it to be done again, LOL. My layout is from MONDAY'S MOJO # 93. I just finally bought this set after everyone else is tired of using it and the challenges were calling to me to pick it up and get it dirty, so I did. My kraft layer was embossed with the negative side of the leafy branches folder inked with night of navy. Love how that turned out. I stamped the tree image in so saffron on white then sponged with so saffron, creamy caramel, choc chip and black. I stamped the phrase in night of navy on so saffron then sponged the edges with creamy caramel, choc chip and black. The sentiment was stamped in night of navy then sponged with the same colors as the tree panel which were both also trimmed with decorative scissors. The night of navy mat was cut with Nesties Deckled edges. I tried to color my ribbon with my copic so saffron match but I think it turned out a little brighter than I wanted. Oh Well. I was thinking I had lost my MOJO since I was not liking what I was making lately but I like this one. Do you?
RECIPE:
Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers
Paper: Night of Navy, Kraft, So Saffron, White
Ink: Night of Navy, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Black, So Saffron
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Leafy Brances, Brads, Ribbon, Nestabilities Deckled Edges, Decorative Scissors
Techniques: Faux Burnt Edges, Cuttlebug - The Negative Effect

Country Girl Carrie

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Faux Burnt Edges. I still had a strip of last Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Faux Denim and I used it because I wanted to do another card using Saturday's OUR CREATIVE CORNER CHALLENGE - Sketch. My color combo is from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Pacific Tango Summer that I was guest host for Emily while she spends some valuable time with hubby before he has to leave to serve his country.
I have had some stamped images of Carrie for awhile now (got them from Shannon) and needed to use them up so she will stamp me some more. LOL. Carrie was perfect for today's TLC and the color combo as well. I did the faux burnt edges on my main panel and the sentiment panel and popped the senitment up. I agree with Lynn in that the torn edge layer looks so much better. I am such a pack rat, while cleaning my stamp room this morning I found a stack of In-Color ribbon that I had forgotten I had so I had to use it today too. How did I do?
RECIPE:
Stamps: Country Girl, Carrie
Paper: vanilla, white, pacific point
Ink: pacific point, creamy caramel, close to cocoa, choc chip, black
Accessories: ribbon, dimensionals, Copics
Techniques: Faux denim, Faux burnt edges, copic coloring

CASE of Butterfly Kisses

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - DawnL. I chose her GARDEN BUTTERFLY card to CASE. I changed the layout to fit Saturday's OUR CREATIVE CORNER CHALLENGE - Sketch. Since I was this Tuesday's guest host for Emily and wanted to use these gorgeous colors again the colors were changed to fit Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Pacific Tango Summer. I missed Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Faux Denim so I had to include it. My big beautiful butterfly is from TREEHOUSE STAMPS - Butterfly Kisses. I stamped the image in summer sun then rolled the edges in tangerine tango. This was done on the Labels 2 panel then on a separate piece of white cs, cut out and popped up. I applied some diamond gems and covered some of them with some gold, yellow and blue glitter glue. Not easy to see on the pic. My main panel layer is from a stack I just got a Joanne's in Tallahassee Saturday. It is from DCWV's Citrus Mat Stack. Embossed and glittered dp that is just yummy. How do you like it? Congrats to ya Dawn. enjoy your day.
RECIPE:
Paper: white, DCWV Citrus Mat Pack
Stamps: Butterfly Kisses - Treehouse Stamps
Ink: Pacific Point, White Craft Ink, Summer Sun, Tangerine Tango

This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Chinese Take Out. We were to make a masculine card by picking 1 item from the 3 menus given. I picked Trains from Menu #1, Neutrals from Menu #2, and Embossing Folders from Menu #3 for this card. I used Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE for my layout. I just had to have this set and I think this is the very 1st time I put ink to it :( I love this train image. I used a sheet of glittered dp from a Glitter Matt Pack I picked up at Michaels a while back. My base is basic gray and I embossing going gray with the Cuttlebugs Swiss Dot folder to match the dots on the dp. I stamped the image in black on going gray then applied some stickles to the steam. Ms. Hoot Shines Today

This is for today's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE. Today's color combo was Banana, Kiwi and 1 neutral. You are also to use ribbon and at least 1 button. Gotcha covered Crystal. I used Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE for my layout. This darling owl set is called Ms.Hoot and was released at midnight from TREEHOUSE STAMPS along with 2 other fantastic sets called Dino-rific and Little Sunshine - please pop over and check them out. This set and the dino-rific dinosaur set were drawn by a 13 yr old boy and submitted in a recent illustrators contest held by Ashley. My image was stamped in esspresso ink then colored using copics. I trimmed it for an out of the box look then matted on dark brown. My panels 2a and 2b are barely banana cs. 1 is stamped in close to cocoa with pretty petals background stamp and the other with a sentiment in kiwi kiss. My panel 1 is old olive pattern paper that I wished SU would bring back. I loved those prints so much more than these they currently have. Little Sunshine Sketch

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. I used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Pacific Tango Summer. I stamped the clouds and cut them out the omitted the clouds to stamp the rainbow on the white card base and colored it. The sun was stamped colored, cut out and popped up. Little Sunshine Sneak Peek & Itty Bitty Sand Architech

I have 2 big reasons for sharing joy with all. 1st Shannon took and PASSED her Para-Pro test on Monday so it is full time teaching for her. WHOO HOO!!!! 2nd I recently answered a call from Emily who host the weekly color challenges on SCS to help her out this summer as she prepares for her dh to go away in service to our country. I was more than happy to send her a pm that I would be glad to help out. She selected me for this week and so this is for today's Splitcoast Stampers COLOR CHALLENGE - Pacific Tango Summer . So I am just too excited to bring this to you as a guest host for Emily.
This month we say goodbye to the Stampin' Up In Colors and so farewell to some of my favorite colors: Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango. I wanted to include both of these in my challenge as I just do not feel like I have shown them enough love. I included Summer sun . I used last weeks CLEAR AND SIMPLY CHALLENGE - Sketch for my layout. Last week the DT got their new images that will be released Thursday to play with from TREEHOUSE STAMPS. This one is called Little Sunshine and was just perfect for the color challenge I had in mind. I stamped my image in black then colored with copics. The clouds were then covered with stickles. The sentiment was then stamped with tangerine tango. I hope you play along this week and have fun with these gorgeous colors for 1 last week.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Little Sunshine
Ink: Black brilliance
Paper: White, Summer Sun, Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Stickles, copics..

.
I had to make another one when I got up this morning. I just about to stamp every morning. I do my best work then. I just love this image.
This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Pacific Tango Summer, Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE #20 - Paper Piecing where I pieced his swim truck from a piece of scrap for Sunday's HIGH HOPES #36 CHALLENGE - Scraps. My layout is from Monday's MOJO # 92 -Sketch. I must admit that last week when Shannon made a card using this image I gave her a hard time because she had a darling stamp that I did not have nor did I have any stamped images of it (insert green face) then she points out that it is my stamp that she got some images from (insert shame face here). Well I just had to use it today. I stamped my image is black then colored with copics and paper pieced the trunks. The kraft layer was punched with my new EK Success border punch and it is sad most of it is covered up where you can not see it. Then I stamped one of the itty bitty background images in brown for a sandy look. I really love how this turned out so much I am ready to go back to the beach with the grands.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Itty BItty Backgrounds - SU, Sand Architech - High Hopes
Paper: white, kraft, summer sun, tangerine tango, pacific point
Ink: black tangerine tango

New Family Member - Goldie

Meet the newest addition to our cat famiy - Goldie. She is almost exactly like Stripes except for color of fur. We got her Friday from a co-worker and all she did was stay in the pet taxi all day. Last night I put her on the couch with me and that was all it took, she has been playing ever since. Today she is so wired. I was typing on my blog and she jumped straight onto the keyboard and I had all sorts of lettering and symbols going across my screen. I have been clawed on the leg with her climbing up my gown, my feet have been attacked all morning. FUN! FUN! FUN! She is so adorable though.

Olivia's A Hoot

This is for today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Bugaloo. I found mine with these adorable OWEN Shoes. I used todays SKETCH SATURDAY #57 for my layout and Thursday's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY'S CHALLENGE #002 color combo of choc chip, pacific point, tangerine tango, real red. My pacific point is for Friday's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - International Flair since the lettering is simular to French Script and it is lettering so it is also for Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Texting. My darling owl image is from TREEHOUSE STAMPS - Olivia's Christmas Set. The sentiment is also from THS and is an individual stamp. I used my large Nestie Scalloped Rectangles to cut and emboss then trimmed the top and bottom and scored with my score pal. I sponged the edges with choc chip. My image was stamped with Esspresso Ink then colored with Copics E34, 43 & 47; R29, and YR07. I applied some stickles to the scarf and popped up the bow and the sentiment. I like this sooo much better than my flop from Friday. Hope you do to.

Merci Texted

This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - International Flair, for Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Texting, and Thursday's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY COLOR CHALLENGE to use Choc chip, real red, pacific point, tangerine tango and white/vanilla. My layout is from today's FRIDAY'S SKETCHERS. I am not sure I like this but I have to get to work so I am loading anyway. I feel like I am back in the woodstock days looking at that background and the tune of "Age of Aquarious" is in my head. LOL. Anyway I used a set that was the 1st thing that came to my mind as soon as I say the WTC yesturday. This is from Gina K and is called Text Messages. I am soooo like Julia, I do not get it. I would rather dial a number and talk with a person than to take the time to type it out and send it. I saw on the news where a 16 yr old won $20,000 in a texting contest and stated in an interview she typically text 400 messages daily. OK that got my daughters text priv removed from her phone. Anyway I stamped my image in sadle brown and the flowers and sentiment in choc chip. I used my Choc chip marker to hand write the Merci! as I did not have a stamp with any international language on it that I can find. Any suggestions on this would be helpful otherwise I may send it to Davy Jones' locker.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Gina K
Paper: White, real red, real red PP, pacific point, tangerine tango
Ink: Choc chip, sadle brown
Accessories: primas, daisy brad, copics.

Today is also a very special day for me as Clear & Simple is also releasing the names of their new DT Members. I was browsing one day in the DT Call list of splitcoast stampers and found a call for Clear & Simple. I had never heard of this stamp company until then so the 1st thing I did was go check out their store. I likes. Then I went back and read the application instructions where you had to use CSStamps. EEKKS! Not having any I quickly placed an order and as soon as they came I was all over this. My projects for this application can be found HERE! I had so much fun making these and can not wait to give me darling hubby his father's day card and can of cashews. He will love them I am sure of it. Last week I almost fainted when I opened an email from CSS DT CALL just knowing it was one of those "thank you for your interest, there were so many gorgeous and talented samples it was hard to make a decision, please try again" letters. Much to my surprise I was being invited to join the DT. YEH!! I did the happy dance, picked up the phone and called my supporting daughter to tell her. I hope to do this company honor with my projects that I create and inspire my followers to check this stamp company out. Since my term actually starts in July keep a look out for my projects.

Cuttlebug Wedding

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - One layer and White. Man talk about challenges. This certainly was one for me and if you notice it is a single challenge too. I was going to use Monday's cuttlebug challenge until I read it again to find out it was to make an anniversary card (insert pout here). Oh well. It is what it is today. I had a really hard time trying to emboss this image in the middle of this 4x5.5 card. I tried each side along with the embossing mat and my brayer, NOPE so I finally allowed for a slight fold hoping I could smooth the crease out. I used my new EK Success border punch. I also used my scor-pal to frame the embossed image. I stamped the design and sentiment in black, tied a ribbon and was done. Hope you like it.

CASE of Butterfly Kisses

Hi,
I thought I would share something I found when I 1st started stamping. Sorry I can not remember where I found it.

I love making 3D projects, especially butterflies. They are so pretty.
So here is the how:

Step #1
Begin with 3 punched or stamped and cut out butterflies. If you use a stamped and cut out image keep in mind the right and left wings MUST be exactly alike.

Step #2
attach the left wing of #1 and the right wing of #2 together.

Step #3
attached the right wing of #3 to the left wing of #2.

Step #4:
Now you are ready to fold the wings up and attached the left wing of #1 and the right wing of #3 onto your layer that will be placed on your project or directly on your project whichever applies. I hope this is helpful to you and you try these gorgeous adornments soon. Let me know when you do so I can ooooh and aaah at it.

Happy Sunday and the last day of my 1st week long vacation in over 5yrs. It has been a blast. The supervisor even called this morning to see if Jessie would like 1 more day of his vacation. Have I mentioned how I like it when he is working on the weekend? It gives ime to clean, rest, play without feeling guilty. LOL. Oh well I love spending time with him so I think we may try to go OOT for lunch. This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - Kisamari. I enjoyed browsing through her gallery and decided on CASEing her JUST BUGZ Card. I changed the bug to a Butterfly, the colors and the layout. I was able to see this weeks sketch from OUR CREATIVE CORNER before IE said it could not display the page :0 ??? Not sure what is going on there. I used my new glitter dp from DCWV Blossoms & Butterflies Stack and my new butterfly punch. I am not paper punch creative so this is all I could come up with for Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Creative Images. I punched 3 butterflies out then adhered the eges and attached to white cs. Folded the wings up and applied some stickles. I do love how these 3D butterflies look. The sentiment is from Butterfly Kisses stamp set from TREEHOUSE STAMPS and is stamped in pink passion.
RECIPE: Stamps: Butterfly Kisses - Treehouse Stamps
Paper: hot pink, DCWV Blossoms & Butterflies Glitter Stack
Ink: Pink Passion

Prehistoric Pals Forever

This is for today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Design Dazzle. I found my inspiration from their DINOSAUR BEDDING SET. My grandson was crazy about some dinosaurs for over a year and now I think he still likes them but as he gets older his LOVES changes. LOL. This was the very 1st set I ever bought from TREEHOUSE STAMPS and he was the reason I bought it. I made his next birthday card using this set and he LOVED it. I love this set and have used it often. This time I made a friendship card and I used only 1 layer for Friday's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Shed the Layers. I stamped the volcano then the dinosaur in black. They are colored with my long neglected Prismacolor pencils then blended with Gamsol. I then sponged some creamy caramel around the volcano and old olive around the rest of the bottom of my card. I stamped the grass image in old olive. I sponged some bashful blue using an oval scallop as my masking template and in the corner just a bit of baraley banana for some sunshine. The lava image was inked with real red and summer sun then stamped above the volcano. I applied some stickles to the lava. Hope you like it. I have a long life friend that I am giving this to and I really think she will like it.
RECIPE: Stamps: Prehistoric Pals - Treehouse Stamps
Paper: whtie
Ink: black, old olive, real red, summer sun, bashful blue, creamy caramel, barely banana

Ocean Friends Checking In

Well my FIL went through his surgery just fantastic Thursday. He will be coming home later this morning. He was sitting up eating about 2 hrs after he got back to his room. Jessie stayed with him and they walked the hall last night and he had a pain free walk. He fell a few months ago getting out of bed and weeks later still in pain gave up and went to the doc. Xrays showed not only does he have curvature of the spine which I already knew but he had a fractured a vertabrea and compressed some disc in his back. Ouch!! He was offered pain meds and see if it gets better verses surgery and opted to go with meds. 2 weeks after his visit he was calling the doc back begging for surgery but his 3 wk appointment was the earliest he could be seen. It will be so good to see him able to work and walk without hurting. He is 76yrs old and still works at his furniture covering business in his back yard shop. That business was started by his father and has been going on for many, many yrs. I am afraid it will end with him unless his daughter decides to become interested in it and take it over. Jessie's brother surely has no interest in the family business and Jessie's career is in nursing for 31yrs. When he retires he says he is going to be a fishing charter Captain.
Oh well on to today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Shed the Layers. I was able to play with a set that my sweet daughter (e3stamper) left with me while she and her family are gone to PC for the weekend where her FIL lives. It is a darling ocean set of all sorts of sea life. I sponged the bottom with creamy caramel and above that with cool carribean. The images were stamped with black and I masked the angel fish and seahorse images to stamp the seaweeds. I applied a google eye to the fish and seahorse All images were colored with copics. I applied some stickles to the bubbles, star fish and the coral.
RECIPE: Stamps: Ocean Friends - Cornish Heritage Farms Kim Hughes Collection
Paper: white
Ink: black, cool carribean, creamy caramel
Accessories: google eyes, stickles.

Tags for You

Well we went fishing Tuesday and man was it hot. I did not think I could get more sunburned than I got at the beach this past weekend but I did and in places I would never have thought off too. LOL. The tops of my feet look like lobsters bc I took off my shoes and forgot I did not put sun screen on there. ooopps I told Jessie one time "OK turn the boat around I think I am done on this side and need to be flipped around". I missed out on the Color challenge bc we have to be on the way at 6am when we go fishing since the Gulf is 2hrs away and the best time to fish is 1st thing in the morning so why were just leaving the water at 5pm, bc my darling husband HATES TO QUIT!!!! LOL. So
this is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Kiss adn Ride Tango. Man did I blow off some dust to use my tags and tag punches. When these sets came out with the punhces I had a fit to get them. Should I admit how often I have used them.... Nah it's too embarresing. Anyhooo I decided to use them today and that is what counts right? LOL. I stamped the white layer with Filigree background in tangerine tango ink then trimmed my 3 strips and matted on TT. My base is riding hood red. I stamped the tag image in kiwi kiss, punched with the small tag punch then a matt of kiwi kiss with the large tag punch. I used some kiwi kiss ribbon that Shannon shared with me around my 3 layers and through the split ring. I found an eyelet that was close to kiwi. The tag is popped up on dimensionals.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Too Terrific Tags, Filigree
Paper: White, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Ribbon, dimensionals, slip ring, eyelet

I made this late last night and just did not want to load it on SCS so late so I decided to put it here instead. This is for Sunday's FEATURED STAMPER - Roxy. She is so talented. I chose her LADYBUGS card to CASE and changed the layout by using BEATE'S WEEKEND SKETCH CHALLENGE and I also changed the colors. I used a different flower. Mine is a quickutz ribbon threaded daisy. My image is from TREEHOUSE STAMP COMPANY and is currently on sale.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Ladybug - THS
Ink: Black
Paper: white, black red, yellow
Accessories: copics, ribbon, QK flower, Cuttlebug, Small dots folder.

Butterfly Kisses Butterfly Box

This is for 1st attempt at today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Butterfly Box. This is a very simple template to follow but I do not have the Stampin' Up coordinating dies so I had a difficult time deciding how to decorate the box. I decided to use the smaller template using some dp from My Minds Eye. Then I glued some gold trim around the edges, and adhered some layered butterflies punched with Martha Stewart punches. I applied some pink pearl drops in the center of the butterflies. The sentiment is from a gorgeous stamp set from TREEHOUSE STAMP COMPANY and is currently on sale right now so got get you one. This set is so versatile it can be used for some many occassions. I used some cameo coral ink for my sentiment and the 3 small butterflies were stamped off then over the sentiment. I think I lost my MOJO last week, just can not seem to get it back.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Butterfly Kisses - Treehouse Stamps
Paper: Cool Carribean, white, MME dp
Accessories: Gold Trim, MS butterfly Punches, Large Oval Punch - SU
Ink: Cameo Coral

This is my 2nd attempt at this TLC. I like it much better. I discovered that in my pack of goodies I got from Ann for participating in her Get Creative with Ann Challenge I had received 3 of these butterfly die cuts. eeekkkk so I had to make another one of these.
