Arte Y Pico Award

Oh My how lucky I am to have received this award from my thoughtful and talented daughter Shannon (aka E3stamper on SplitCoast Stampers). Her Hoppy Creations Blog is not only cute but hopping with creativity and inspiration.

Now, the rules of the award are:

2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone.
3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her/him the award itself.
4. The Award winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte Y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5. To show these rules.

Now for my picks:
FAITH - Stampin w/Markie's Mom
SHELLY - Stamp with Shelly
JOAN & AMY - AJC Creations
CHAT - Me, My Stamps, and I

I have so many I would love to give this too who are very inspiring but most have already received this award so please do not feel slighted in the least.

Happy Mother's Day Sketch

This is for today's (not fun for me) SKETCH CHALLENGE. I had a very difficult time not just with the sketch but what to use, how to fill the space, colors would not match, ruff day start but all will be better. I will do this until I love it. LOL. I am not one who likes the long cards so I was not crazy about the sketch. I guess I need to do them more often so I am comfortable with them. While tearing my play room upside down I ran across these flowers, then I spotted my Fiskars oval template. I knew the oval shape had to be large even if it was layered down for what even was going on top. I decided that since my MIL does not really care what my cards I make her look like as long as I made it that I would go for it. I used AYC II Mother's Day stamp in Versamark and heat embossed with Jewel Gold EP. The paper is some I discovered Tuesday while looking for some 2 sided in my paper stash. I attached a yellow brad on each end to hold the fold down. The flowers are held together with a large red brad. Boy I hope she likes this one because I am sure not loving it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: All Year Cheer II
Paper: 2 sided Non SU
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Jewel Gold Embossing Powder, Brads, Prima Flowers
Techniques: Heat Emboss

Bareback Two Way Open Card

I wanted to use today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Basic Pomegrante Skyand I also had a brainstorm while at work today of making this a buckle closure using a western design so this is what I came up with. I used Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Two Way Open Card. Please forgive me for doing this but rather than overloading the gallery with all 3 pics I have placed them on my blog. The buckle was made with Silver CS and Large Ribbon Slots. The black belt is CS with wholes from the Crop-a-dile for eyes. The horse is the 1st image and the the inside is the senitment stamped in pomegrante on vanilla with the 3 running horses masked after stamping off 2 times. Hope you like it.
RECIPE;
Stamps: Bareback
Paper: Black, Purely Pomegrante, Sky Blue & Sky Blue Pallet of Prints
Ink: Black
Accessories: Circle punch, large ribbon punch
Techniques: buckle card, Two way open card

TIME WELL SPENT WITH FRIENDS

These are for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Two Way Open Card which I wanted to combine with todays color challenge. Got up so ready to stamp and the internet was down. gggrrrrr. So I went to play with just 1 challenge. I will return tomorrow to defend my crown. I used some 2 sided paper I have had for a while and made 2 of these. E3stamper had let me borrow this set and I needed to use it. The outside says "time spent with", the next layer "Friends", and the inside "is time well spent". I colored the flowers, stamped the hearts on white and then on the yellow 1/2 corner and the butterflies on the inside white layer then on a white piece of scrap, colored with water color pencils then cut out the 2 hearts & 2 butterflies on the white scraps, applied yellow stickles to the flowers and spots on the butterflies. The butterflies are attached at just the center body and the wings folded up for a dimensional effect. The cut out hearts are popped up onthe front. Not some of my best work but gotta get to work.
RECIPE:
Stamps:
Time Well Spent
Paper: 2 sided Yellow/Brown, Yellow/Pink
Ink: Yo Yo Yellow, Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose
Accessories: Ribbon dimensional
Techniques: Two Way Open Card

Thinking of Father CASE

I had some stampin' therapy Sunday as e3stamper came over to play with me so I made this Father's Day card CASEing the great sf9erfan who is this weeks FEATURED STAMPER. I chose her MASCULINE TRUCK BIRTHDAY CARD and changed the colors to fit last weeks COLOR CHALLENGE, had to change the layout so I used SKETCH CHALLENGE from weeks ago. I used my scissors to cut the top of the layered circle and to make the tag for WAYS TO USE IT - Snip Snip and followed the list for the weeks LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE. I had some scraps I needed to use up in choc chip, the tag was a piece of white scrap that I trimmed to fit and the dp is from Michaels. The ribbon is a piece of scrap I got from Shannon awhile back. I stamped the image on white using Timber Brown Stazon then colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with Gamsol. I covered the headlights, windshield, and half way up the door window with glossy glaze 3 times then cracked and sponged. It was hard to get a good pic of that but it is there and looks kewl IRL.
RECIPE:
Stamps:
Thjnking of Father
Paper: Choc Chip, Michaels dp
Ink: Timber Brown Stazon
Accessories: Hodge Podge Pewter hardware, Gamsol blender, Prismacolor Pencils, Ribbon
Techniques: Gamsol Magic, Cracked Glass

Together Forever CASE

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - sf9erfan (aka Michelle). She has a wonderful gallery, go check it out. I chose her SC161 To Have and To Hold to CASE. I changed the sketch and used WEEKEND SKETCH CHALLENGE because Michelle's card was for a SC (It helps to read everything, I did not know I needed to change a layout if I was CASEing a SC card until dd told me last week :0, thanks Shannon), I also changed the colors to fit this weeks COLOR CHALLENGE. I bought this wedding cake a couple of years ago at the Dollar Store, sometimes they have some really kewl stamps. The image was stamped in Timber Brown stazon then the flowers were colored using my SU markers. Image was matted on Choc Chip. I applied stickles to the loopy part of the cake layers. The sentiment was stamped in Choc Chip on Certainly Celery and ribbon tied on the end. The Pretty in Pink layer is SU pallet of Prints sheet matted on choc chip card base.
RECIPE;
Stamps:
Together Forever, Dollar Store Wedding Cake

Friendly Safari Cub

Well Friday was an early rise to catch a boat captained by Jessie who was also caravanning with his Dad and his Cousin. As we hit the road at 5:30 we saw at least 10 more boats heading to the beg bend coast area. Thank goodness they were not all going to the same river enterance that we were! Had a good day on the water but we were give out so no stamping Friday. Onto to today's project.
This is for 4 challenges from this week as I needed to play catch up after not being home to do Thursday and Friday's challenges so here it is.1. Today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Safari Adventure Party.2. Friday's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLNEGE - Follow The List.3. Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLNEGE - Snip Snip.4. Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Certainly Pretty Choc.I have always been one to appreciate the more natural looking images but am shifting my thinking now as I wish I had some of the more whimsical wild animal images to do this challenge with so I used what I had. I have not inked this gorgeous cut in awhile so he needed to get dirty. I stamped it in Timber Brown Stazon on vanilla paper and then cut it out. Colored with SU Chaulks using this weeks colors, hard to see but the inside of the ears, nose, and mouth are pink. For my scraps the vanilla and the mulberry were used. I had to dye the white mulberry so now my fingers are green. eeekk. I also snipped between the grass line and paw on the far right so I could bring the mulberry paper between them. I wanted the cut to look as if he were mashing the grass down to peek out.
RECIPE:
Stamps:
Nice & Easy Notes, Rubbernecker Safari Cub
Paper: Choc Chip, Vanilla, Mulberry
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, choc chip, Timber Brown Stazon
Accessories: Mulberry paper
Techniques: chaulking, huffing

Tart & Tangy Trifold Pocket Card

I made this after reading the kewl tutorial for the TRIFFOLD POCKET CARD. After cutting a template I went to work. I always try out something new on copy paper before I cut my CS, saves a lot of CS that way. I cut the top with scissors so it qualifies for today's WAYS TO USE IT - Snip Snip. I inked the cherry stamp with SU markers Real Red & Glorious Green then stamped randomly on white CS. Doodled around the edges and cut some scallops using the slit punch. I cut out the Quickutz cherries and popped 2 up on the outisde then glued 2 on the insert. I am giving this to the Professional Administrator (FKA-Secretary) at work who handles payroll and many other things for 2 areas at the hospital. She has her hands full and then some. She will not be back to work until Monday so I will give it to her then. Think she'll like it?
RECIPE:
Stamps
: Tart & Tangy, Full of Life
Paper: white, red, green
Ink: real red, glorious green
Accessories: quickutz cherry
Techniques: Trifold Pocket Card

BLOOMING BEAUTIFUL - NOT

My mother always told me "haste makes waste" and she was sooo right. I was trying to hurry up to get loaded and to work and made a complete mess of this but here it is anyway. This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Certainly Pretty Choc. My main image was stamped twice in timber Brown Stazon then colored w/SU markers. The flowers in the pot were cut out and popped up. I applied stickles for some glitter. The panel under that, Certainly Celery pattern paper was SUPPOSED to be the other side. Didn't realize I messed that up until I was loaded. Panel 3 is Pretty in Pink pattern paper with brown ribbon hiding the seam that I had to make because I cut it too short. Card base is Certainly Celery. The pot, OMGosh, was colored originally with creamy caramel and after the 2nd coat I liked it so I stopped but when I put it all together then the pot looked too light. So I was going to add some color bc I can not leave well enough alone like Mama also always said. Hence the pot became one solid choc chip color. YUK!!.
RECIPE:
Stamps:
Blooming Beautiful
Paper: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Choc Chip, White,
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, choc chip, Timber Brown Stazon
Accessories: ribbon, diminsionals

This is for today's wonderful COLOR CHALLENGE - Certainly Pretty Choc and Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Gift Card Holder which are so easy and fun to make. The flower is stamped using Timber Brown Stazon then colored and blended w/gamsol. The green gem in the center is popped up so that the flower is poofy. I just curled the petals under rather than attaching them. The swirsl are stamped in Choc chip on Certainly Celery CS. The Sentiments are from So Many Saying.
RECIPE:
Stamps:
Doodle This, So Many Sayings
Paper: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Choc Chip, White

I stamped the Matey Wheel using Close to Cocoa on vanilla CS on the front and back. Then colored the "X" in red. The image is stamped in Timber Brown Stazon then colored w/water color pencils. Always On My Mind

Here is another CASE from Silke who is the FEATURED STAMPER - Sparklegirl this week. I changed the colors to use the COLOR CHALLENGE from last week. I went to e3stamper's last night to visit with my babies and she graciously let me borrow the set Always so I can decide buy/not buy.LOL. Isnt' that just like a SU demo! Having that set I was ready this morning to stamp but today's challenge was not up yet. Pooh. So what else to do but CASE another card from the Silke. I chose her ALWAYS this time and changed the colors and layout just a bit. I also do not have the rhinstones from SU YET!! so I used my silver HH and put a pink gem in the center. I connected the dots with my cameo coral marker to make faux stitching. The heart is stamped in CC on Blush Blossom CS. I also do not yet have the nestabilities, guess I need them because decorative scissors work really well on a singe border but create problems when doing a square or rectangle.
RECIPE:

Inspiring Cow Parade

This is for today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Cow Parade and Friday's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE -DIY DP. Todays' Inspiration was to come from some really cute Cow Parade Collextibles. I was inspired by the COW-MOO-FLAGE. Clarabelle from High Hopes was not in favor of wearing Mr.Roosters head for an ornament today so I hand drew cow spots on Mr.Rooster instead. He is stamped 3 times, colored using Prismacolor Pencils then blended w/gamsol, cut out the head and lower wing then popped them up at different heights. I put stickles around the edge of the head and feathers. The cow spot background was made by High Hopes Cow Spots stamped in black. It is so cute I hated to cover it up with this large image. The sentiment for the rooster was hand written and the HB sentiment is from CTMH Happy Birthday, I wrote the 2 and the Moo is from High Hopes.

I am playing catch up today since I did not get to do the challenge yesturday and also defending my title as Queen of Combos!LOL. This is for 4 challenges this week. 1.Today's LIMITED SUPPLY - DIY-DP.2. Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT - Eyelets.3. Tuesday's COLORS - Real Glorious Navy.4. Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS - Stacked Ribbon.I do frequently use my background stamps and my small background stamps for backgrounds so I wanted to challenge myself. I have never used the markers as Holly did so I gave it my best shot. Learned a lot to NOT do next time but it was fun. Thanks Jen for this challenge. My image is stamped in black stazon then colored w/prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol then the edges distressed w/night of navy using sponging. I used an eyelet and it is difficult to see in the pic but I punched out some clear transparency and attached it to the eyelet so it would look like a peep hole. I layered this on squares each 1/4 inch up in size then stacked them off rather than centered. Stacked red on blue ribbon on the left side and heat embossed the senitment on the right. I think this turned out OK but will do things a little different next time. I have just been dying to ink up this rocket ship and today seemed like the day.

Sweet Jaylen

Well I am just so thankful today is Sunday because this has been a week. My baby is 24 yrs old today, eeekkk. That makes me feel so old. Anyway we got home from supper last night to a frantic phone call from dh's dad. All by dh could hear was his dad saying "I need you down her now, I can not wake up your Mom." He hung the phone up and here we go. Left cold & frozen foods in the floor. After about 30min and the EMT's loading her on the stretcher to go to the hospital we came home and put up the cold stuff and headed to the ER. She has had seizures pretty much all of her life but has not had a great deal of trouble in many years. They found her blood level for her medication very low. We drove them home at 2:30am and it was around 3:30am before I could go to sleep. I have 2 smart clocks, meaning that they automatically adjust to the fall and spring time changes. Well apparently they are programmed by the OLD schedule because I woke up at 8:30 and began getting meat ready to go on the smoker for dd's birthday supper. After I had awakened dh I looked at the other clocks and it was only 7:30am ooops. I knew that was going to happen just did not know when. The weekend that time did actually change I had to manual reset the time. Now I have to find out when the time would have changed in the fall or we will be 1 hr late for work. gggrrrr. Onto the the card for today.

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER this week featuring Kristie (aka:mommylvs2stamp). I enjoyed browsing through her gallery and decided on CASEing her SWEET BABY card. I changed the colors and the placement of my ribbon, used a circle behind my focal image, applied stickles, and doodled in the center of the scallop border. I also used this weeks TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Paper Tole by cutting out and popping up the moon and largest star on the focal image after stamping in ballet blue. The stars in the center of the stamped stars stamped in ballet blue are from a paper punch. The focal image is stamped in bashful blue then matted on a deeper blue cs cicle from a paper punch. Stickles applied to the stars around the scallop image, the popped up stars and moon. I used my white souffle pen to do the scallop border. The card base is embossed w/swiss dots from Cuttlebug. I will be giving this to my baby daughter who is 24 yrs old today, YEH! She is scheduled for a repeat C-Section May 12th and it is a boy. Jaylen is the name she is planning on. Now if she changes her mind, the letters are from quicktutz Daisy Alphabet and I will have to take them off and replace them with something else :0 RECIPE:
Stamps: So Many Scallops, Classic Backgrounds

Dollar Bin Baby Card

Well my youngest grandchild, Makayla 2yrs old, is having tubes put in her ears today for chronic ear infections. Both my girls had this done but as Nana now it is scary so I needed a quickie today but wanted to do the sketch challenge so here it is.
This is for today's SKETCH and Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS - Paper Tole CHALLENGES. I found this cute stamp in the $1 bin at Michaels one day. It is stamped in Black stazon 3 times, colored w/barely banana and lavendar lace markers 3 times. the basket is cut out whole then just the top portion and all popped up with diminsionals. The wheels are eyelets. The yellow CS layer is embossed w/Cuttlebug Swiss Dots. Lavendar dotted ribbon tied around panel 2. There seem to more and more new families who want to wait until baby arrives to find out boy/girl so I will hang on to this for one of those needed cards. Hope you like it.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Baby Michaels $1 bin
Paper: Non SU Yellow, Lavendar, Polkadot
Ink: Lavendar Lace, Barely Banana

My Lttle Cowboy

This is for today's COLOR - Creamy Mossy Appricots combined with Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS - Paper Tole and I did Beate's Weekend Sketch # 41 for a layout. I went to post the link to this card on her blog and bummer she has already picked for this week. I thought she did that on Wednesdays. This was 8am that I was going to post the link. Anyway the main image was stamped and colored multiple times. The little boy and dog are cut out and popped up. I used my SU Markers to color. I distrssed the edges with creamy caramel using a sponge then matted on Cr.Caramel cs. The Coral layer was embossed with the Cuttlebug Paisley folder. The sentiment is stamped in Cream Caramel. I just received this Treehouse Stamp set in the mail Monday and could not wait to get it dirty. I would not have needed to buy from this company had it not been for Kristen's DREAMIN' COWBOY. It is all her fault I told dh and I am sticking to it.lol.

Paper: Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral, Creamy Caramel, Vanilla
