Makayla & Trinity's 2nd Birthday Party

I thought I would share some pics from the birthday party here last night. The top far left is Makayla (aka: KK) and Trinity, then KK & Mom with the prayer bear she got from her Nana & Papa (that would be us), Trinity with her Mom and a snap of some of her gifts yet unwrapped. The clothes went flying out of the bag and if there was no toy the bag went on the floor and another one grabbed. The bottom pic is KK sitting on her very own Disney Princess Couch. Her favorite cousin Brayden has one of these with spiderman on it and she loves it when she goes to her Aunt Shah's house. They always have to drag it our to lay on. She loves all of the kids but for some weird reason she really loves Brayden and he loves her back. It started out as a stressful event but ended really well. Next year the birthday celebrations will be courtsey of their parents and Nana and Papa will be the guest. TeeHee.

FABULOUS LEMON TREE

This is for today's INSPIRATION, Friday's LIMITED SUPPLY ,and Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGES. It is so funny how so many people can look at 1 picture and see so many different things. The first thing I saw was the tree on the plaque could not believe how much it resembled the Fab Flower. The next thing I saw was the basket of lemons and instantly thougth "lemon tree". So here it is. I inked the flower w/green galore then used garden green marker along the edges, huffed and stamped, then inked it up again with just garder green. Cut out the center section of the garden green and popped it up on the other flower. I had some wood grain dp so I inked up a weather background stamp with close to cocoa and stamped the dp, made it look like an aged tree trunk, trimmed the bottom with some decorative scissors called grass. I sponged the bottom and egdes of layer 2 with green galore then stamped the fern tip from watercolor minis in green galore and garden green randomly to look like grass sprigs then matted this on green cs and popped up the flower to make it look like a tree. Card base is white with lemons randomly stamped using yo yo yellow. Layer 4 is the solid lemon again stamped in yyy with Lemonade 5c handwritten with the garden green marker. Hope you like it.

Baby Nursery Open Window

I am not happy at all with this but here it is anyway. This is for today's WAYS TO USE IT and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGES. I got some new rubbah from Rubbernecker that I have been itching to use. This one is Nursery and I thought it was adorable until I started coloring it. Maybe these colors were the wrong route to take. Oh well. After I colored w/Prismacolor Pencils and blended w/gamsol I trimmed the outside frame and the inside section because I was going for trying to get the Celery paper to look like wall paper in the room. Do you know how hard it is to trim foam paper thin and make it stand up like you want? HARD!! Take my word for it. And when I did get it to stick and stand up the frame was so flimsy it stuck everywhere except where I needed it. uurrrggggg. Tomorrow will be better (I have to keep telling myself). Any suggestions or criticism will be greatly appreciated to keep me from putting this in File #13.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Nursery & Baby Kiss
Paper: Certainly Celery Print, Orchid Opulence, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Black Stazon

Wings of Grace

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. That's right, only 1 challenge on this one. I wanted it to be special because a wonderful cyber friend through this site sent me this beautiful Old World Map stamp from Rubbernecker as a gift along with many other surprises in a Happy Mail package I received last night. Stampcrazzy aka Kelly won a $100 by placing an order with Rubbernecker and was so sweet to share with me since I was her inspiration for the purchase. Thanks again Kelly. I had to get it dirty ASAP and today's sketch was perfect but I could not incorporate pumpkin pie anywhere so I elected to go with other colors. The OWM image is stamped in brilliant blue, distressed w/close to cocoa then crumpled, straightened and attached to a matt of blue cs. Image also stamped in bb and distressed edges, matted on blue cs and popped up. I used burgandy ribbon with hemp for layer 3. Layer 1 was stamped w/close to cocoa using cheesecloth and matted on burgandy cs. Hope you like it and hope Kelly really likes it. Thanks again Kelly.
RECIPE:

WOW I got home today and had some happy mail from Kelly (aka stampcrazzy). Enclosed was a beautiful Happy Thank You card, "Ethel party your panties off", "Ralph & Ethel crackin me up", "Kitty in the washin' machine", 2 rolls of ribbon, 2 packs of primas, a pack of ribbon charms and "old world map background stamp". WOW am I lucky or what. Kelly had pm'd me a couple of months ago about a card using Rubbernecker stamps that I had uploaded and inspired her to investigate this wonderful stamp company. She placed an order and won a $100 shopping spree for the month of January. Man I ordered in Novemenber and I did not win anything :( Anyway she asked me to send her my choice of anyting in the catelog as a thank you to me. I felt honored that she was willing to share with me and reluctantly made the Old World Map Background as my choice to use with Set Sail and some other nautical ships and sets I have. I was not expecting all of the other goodies so this was a real treat to me. Thank you so much Kelly.

Big Flower WC Mini Gift Pouch

If you have not yet tried one of these pouches you do not know what you are missing. They are fun and really easy to make. This was created for today's COLOR CHALLENGE, Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - ENVELOPE POUCH, and Sunday's FEATURED STAMPER. This time I chose Betty's FOR YOU card to CASE. I just love flowers and was inspired by this one. I changed the set to Water Color Minis but used the same type of flower, and changed the colors to match todays CC. The solid flower was stamped off then on the whtie layer for a softer tone and then stamped with the top layer. The butterflies were stamped w/orchid then pumpkin pie and vise versa, applied stickles then cut out and popped up. I also took the opportunity to add a bookmark by using a giant gem clip. The Big Flower set is perfect for this. I stamped the One of a Kind 3 in 1 stamp in orchid opulence and used the SU designer punch to punch it out, The daisy was attached to the inside of the big flower then a brad placed in the center. The other side is exactly the same. I just happen to know a Mom who reads a lot and will be giving this for Mother's Day in a few months.

Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Orchid Opulence, Certainly Celery, White
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Orchid Opulence, Certainly Celery

HAPPY VALENTINE DAY

No challenge card from me today. Busy day, started out by trying to finish up some Valentines gifts and wrapping. Turns out dh's card is at my office and what does he do 1st thing, wakes up before I leave and puts a beautiful card out for me and a movie. The same movie I have to give him tonight at supper. LOL. My oldest grandchild is 7 today, so we had to call her before she headed off to school and sing like we do every year for all of them on their special day. Had brownies baking in over for a co-worker and needed to be at work by 8am. I was 8:45 before I left my house. Yeekkk. Run Sally Run. We are having dinner tonight for Alana's birthday celebration and I will be giving her a ticket to My Little Poney show for Sunday in Tallahassee as part of her B-day gift.
Hope everyone feels all the love possible on this special day of love.

True Friend Inspiration

This is for today's INSPIRATION -BEDDING and SKETCH CHALLENGES. I had a really hard time with this one. I usually always go with my 1st impressions and the 1st thing I thought of was True Friend in Vanilla on rust and Handsome Hunter background. Well the trouble I had was getting the vanilla on rust to work. I used my vanilla craft ink and embossed w/clear EP which turned dark on the cs. Not what I was after, so I turned the CS over and tried again using white which did not do much better so I reheated and applied white ep again which sorta speckled. I used my handsome hunter to color the inside of the flowers as best as I could. The top panel is vanilla CS with the single flower inked using markers and huffing. I stamped the lines from So Many Sayings in Mellow moss. This is matted on handsome hunter then mellow moss and popped up. All edges were distressed. I used twill ribbon and tied a mellow moss paper knot.Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: True Friend, So Many Saying
Paper: Handsome Hunter, Really Rust, mellow Moss
Ink: Vanilla Craft, Really Rust, Handsome Hunter, Mellow Moss

TLC Childhood Game turned Sweet Centerpiece

WOW did this bring back some girlie childhood memories not just of my girls but also from me. I used to play this game for hours on end. This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE and last weeks COLOR CHALLENGE. Well I have some 2 sided cs that matches YoYo Yellow and Going Gray so I used it and made one for each . The decorations are from SU 5 flower punch, Co-ordinating punches from Looks Like Spring and One of A Kind. I stamped 2 flowers from One of A Kind, cut them out and glued together then punched out a flower in basic gray for the center. I rolled a small strip of basic gray for that flower stem (which was not easy) so I made 2 small strips and attached them together for the 5 flower center. I loved the way the smaller 5 flower punch matched in the larger one. Hum must remember that for future purposes. lol. I placed yougurt covered raisens in one and mixed nuts in the other. Thses were really fun to make.

Stamps: One of A Kind
Paper: 2 sided Yo Yo Yellow/Going Gray
Ink: Going Gray
Accessories: 2 way glue pen, 5 flower punch, Co-ordinating punches from Looks Like Spring and One of A Kind

The birds from Shore Thing and the sea shells are stamped in Close To Cocoa. The sand stamp is stamped in Creamy Caramel. The crab is stamped in Real Red, colored with prismacolor pencil then blended w/gamsol then google eyes applied with 2 way glue pen. I used a 1 1/4 inch circle punch to cut it out then sponged with cool carribean and creamy caramel. This was layered on red cs punched w/ mega scallop punch. I used a 1 inch circle punch to punch out the window and stamped the sentiment on the white layer then sponged the edge with real red and popped it up on a 1 1/4 inch circle red cs layer which is attached on the inside of the card. I took my scissors and distressed the inside edges of the circle so the sentiment layer would allow easy opening of the card. Next time I think I will cut the card base circle 1 1/4 also.
