Fruit Stand Chaulk Pouncing

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Chaulk Pouncing. I began with an idea, just did not execute it very well. This technique seems very simular to POPPIN' PASTELS. You can find the tutorial for this technqiue HERE. Cut a large oval from paper using my Fiskars oval template. Used the inside of the oval for reverse masking to sponge the tempting turquoise color. I stamped the peach image in versamark then with a Qtip I applied glorious green, so saffron and cameo coral chaulks. Matted this on temp turquoise and attached layered photo corners, doodled on the so saffron corner and applied faux turquoise brads. Popped this up on So saffron distressed lines cuttlebug layer and matted on cameo coral base. I will add the sentiment later. Gotta get to work for now. Thanks for guest hosting and posting early so I could play before work. Really gets a boost on my day.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Fruit Stand
Paper: Temp Turquoiis, So Saffron, Cameo Coral, White
Ink: Versa Mark
Accessories: SU Pastels, Crop a dile
Techniques: Chaulk Pouncing, Reverse Masking

Seaside Sketches

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - Chelemom. In browsing through Michele's gallery I found her CRAFTY SECRETS CHALLENGE card to CASE. I changed the colors, dp from slanted to vertical, and I moved her brad from the tag to the main image itself. This seashell brad is one I found at Michaels Friday on a shopping sprey and felt like it fit today's card which is using Thursday's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Brads because we were to use brads to place focus on our main image. I loved the layout and theme so I kept those but used a different image. I loved the beddng used in Saturday's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE. The blues were gorgeous in that quilt.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Seaside Sketches
Paper: My Minds Eye -Everyday Tango DP, white
Ink: black stazon
Accessories: prismacolor pencils, blending stumps, gamsol, tag punch, horizontal slot punch
Techniques: Gamsol Blending

ORANGE BIRTHDAY

Thanks Wendy for guest hosting today. This is what I came up with for your LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Brads. My focused brad is in the center of the orange. The orange is stamped in only orange craft ink then embossed with orange koolaid scented EP using the SCRATCH AND SNIFF TECHNIQUE TUTORIAL which was in Wednesday's Weekly Inkling. I have made these type of images before but it has been awhile so it kinda gave me the nudge to do another one. While surfing the blogs yesturday I ran across HEATHER ROLINS CREATIONS and found this wonderful sketch that I just had to try. My dd will be so proud of me I finally made a cut into my Summer picnic DP for the background. The only orange scallop layer has white dots using the white jel pen, the SU scallop circle is dotted with Only orange marker. I had to hand write the 1st part of the sentiment and stamped the bottom part in only orange from So Many Saying.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Tart & Tangy, So Many Sayings
Paper: Only Orange, Summer Picnic, white
Ink: Only Orange, Only Orange Craft
Accessories: Orange Daisy Brad, Orange Koolaid powder, Clear Detail EP

Natural Beauty Bird

This is for the challenges this week so far:Today's WAYS TO USE IT - Birds.Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE. Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE.Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Hittin' the bottle.I embossed a 3x3 sheet of white cs using the Birds & Swirls folder from cuttlebug then punched out the 9 squares using a 1 inch punch and matted those on taken with teal 1 1/4 inch squares. I layered those onto wild wasabi 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 cs. I stamped the word block with wasabi then punched from the back side to take the bird through it (I saw this in my very 1st SU catty and fell in love it). The bird is stamped in black and watercolored with re-inkers taken w/teal and wild wasabi, cut out and inserted throught the torn paper and stickles applied. This is matted on teal then wasabi and poppped up. Teal sheer ribbon on the right. I will add a charm and sentiment later, gotta get to work. I did not plan to be able to stamp today as the WTC is not usually up until 10am my time but could not resisit due to the fact that I LOVE BIRD IMAGES.

Matey's Treasure Map

I have seen some really kewl creations from this sketch and just got inspired to come home and hit the craft desk again until I liked this sketch. Well I think I did. At least I like this one better than my 1st attempt anyway. This is the Mateys' Map Jumbo wheel rolled in Close to Cocoa on vanilla CS. The sentiment is from Close to My Heart's Treasures of the Heart set which I purchased especially for this sentiment to go with Ahoy Matey set. Not being a great fan of square cards and seeing many examples of others who extended the squared image to fit the regular 4 1/4 X 5 3/4 card I made a 2nd attempt at today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. After rolling the wheel I trimmed the image to 1 1/4 squares and placed them on the light brown cs left end. The sentiment is popped up on dimensionals and matted on light brown cs which is then matted on vanilla CS 5 3/4 X 4 1/4. I layered some vanilla ribbon and tied a knot in the center. I will give this to one of my close friends who is always there in time of need.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Matey's Map Jumbo Wheel, CTMH Treasures of the Heart
Paper: Vanilla, Light Brown

PREHISTORIC PALS - Tribute to DH

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE, Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Taken with White Wasabi, and Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Hittin' the Bottle. Today's sketch was a difficult one for me, guess that is why it is called a challenge huh?. Anyway as I was thinking of what to do my dh came to mind. He is always driving me crazy in the pool. He has to get on his tube float and swim around coming up behind and around me grinning with just saying "Hi There". He is like a kid sometimes. Anyway I was trying to create these images in that manner as if peeking around at you. Failed at that but here it is anyhoo. Images are stamed in taken with Teal and matted on TWT. main image is stamped in black then watercolored with close to cocoa, ruby red, summer sun reinkers. The bubbles are stamped using a kalidascope pad-calypso. I applied stickles to the top of the volcano and some of the bubbles. Main image is popped up. I am giving this to dh just because he makes me laugh and we are always teasing each other about being ancient.
RECIPE:
Stamps: SU Prehistoric Pals, Treehouse Stamps Prehistoric Pals,
Paper: taken with teal, wild wasabi, white, watercolor
Ink: taken with teal, wild wasabi, only orange, ruby red, summer sun, black

NATURAL BEAUTY - HOPE

Happy Sunday all. Hope it is a good one for you. We finally got a little rain last night but I sure could have done without the light show that went with it. DH is off today so I will have limited time at the helm as he feels neglected when he takes a day off and I don't spend all of it with him. :( This is my normal day that my oldest dd would come over for some stampin' therapy. We have missed out on quite a few sessions lately with the new baby of my youngest and just normal interruptions. May 2 weeks from now we will be able to. Onto todays challenge. This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - Lost in the 60's aka Denise. I enjoyed browsing Diane's gallery and finally decided on CASEing her NATURAL BEAUTY - JOY. I changed the colors to match this weeks COLOR CHALLENGE - krafty skies, I changed the layout to match this weeks SKETCH CHALLENGE. I also used a different corner punch and only punched the top corners. The bird and butterfly were stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black then colored with prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol then cut out. The butterfly center is glued and both wings have dimensionals under them to make them pop. The bird is busting out of the sentiment block and the punched through paper is popping him up. Stickles applied to the bird and butterfly. I also used a different ribbon and ran it across the 2 top panels to cover the overlap. I really do not like to leave joining lines open, I like to cover them up.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Natural Beauty, Wonderful Words
Paper: soft sky, kraft, black, white
Ink: black, Brilliance Graphite Black
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, blending stumps

Summer Bikini Card Front & Back

This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - Not hip to be square. I saw these cards in a previous VSN and just had to try one. I used the BIKINI TEMPLATE from a previous VSN hosted by Stampowl. Thank you so much Frances for the template. I used some colorful floral design paper for the bikini parts and vanilla cs for the body portion. ribbon for the straps. I accented the top with a flower and button and gave her some butterfly tattoos on the back side which is the bottom part of the bikini. I really think this turned out quite nice and it was very easy to make.
RECIPE:
Stamps: All Wrapped Up
Paper: vanilla, designer paper
Ink: black
Accessories: flower, ribbon, button, bikini template

Summertime Fashion

This is for today's WAYS TO USE IT - Ric Rac. I used Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE for my layout. I have had this trimmed ric rac CS for years just never found use for it until today. I just got these Quickutz and had to use them. Love the bikini but this body will never been seen in one, you can bet on that. The onsie is more my style and more favorable to the eyes of the on lookers but even that is hard to take for some, LOL. I did a NY resolution to use up the CS I had accumulated whenever I could and to use my Quickutz that I have purchased and neglected so this killed 4 birds with 1 card. I will have to find me a sentiment to go on the lower section of my front panel. I wanted Happy Summertime or something like that but wouldn't ya know it, aint got one:( No stampin' on here today. The bikini is polka dotted so I matted the burnt orange layer with the wholes popped out on top of the light orange layer so it could be seen through the wholes. I then trimmed around the outter part of the pieces. Punched a small whole in the center of the top and added a daisy brad. I love my QK I just don't use them enough.
RECIPE:
Stamps: None
Paper: Non SU
Ink: None
Accessories: Quickutz Swim suit, Bikini, Daisy Brad

Sympathy From The Garden

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE -Kraft Skies. What I ended up with is not exactly what I had in mind and I am not sure I am happy with it but gotta go to work. That is the biggest flower and sometime difficult to work with. Image was stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black, dryed with heat gun, colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. I made my straight across markings and cut around the image for an "out of the box" image. This was matted on soft sky then kraft then black. So Sorry from Fancy Flexible Phrases stamped on kraft in soft sky (can hardly see in pic but IRL it is darker. Applied Glitter glue in the flower center. I think I may run some twil ribbon on the bottom of my kraft layer then stamp the sentiment again in soft sky. What do you think? Will that make it better?
RECIPE:
Stamps: From The Garden, Fancy Flexible Phrases
Paper: black, kraft, soft sky, white
Ink: soft sky, Brilliance Black
Accessories: glitter glue

Dirty Fashionable Embrace Life CASE

This is for Sunday's FEATURED STAMPER - dinidill and this months Dirty Dozen challenges of THEME, PRODUCT FOCUS, SKETCH & INSPIRATION. If you are not a Fan Club member I strongly encourage you to join. There are so many talented crafters in the Dirty Dozen present and past. They provide so much knowledge and inspiration it is amazing. I chose to CASE Denise's NOT SO PERFECT PETALS. I changed the colors, image, dp and used my Cuttlebug Script folder rather than a background stamped image. For the DD theme of fashion I connected my paper piercings for faux stitching and replaced the brads with clear rhinestones. I was so inspired by the flowers and leaves on the inspiration piece and knew exactly what dp I needed to use. I kept the sketch in Denise's card bc that is my all time "little black dress" sketch when nothing else comes to me. I loved the torn paper look so I kept it. My image is stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black then colored with markers. Crystal Effects applied to the flower.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Embrace Life
Paper: River Rock, Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, Ginger Blossom DP
Ink: Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Brilliance Graphite Black
Accessories: Paper Piercer Tool, Cuttlebug & Script Folder, Clear Rhinestones, Crystal Effects

No No No, no more baby news for this family for awhile I hope. Just a cute name for today's project using the stamp sets. This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - denidill (aka Denise). The ratttle and bottle from A New Little Someone were stamped in Brilliance Black, colored w/markers and cut out. The rattle is popped up. The sentiment also from A New Little Someone is stamped in real red on so saffron. The front panel is regal rose stamped with Aida Cloth using Regal rose. The main image is from Baby Firsts and is stamped in Brilliance Black on white and colored w/markers. I punched the image out with a deckle square punch then my Giga Square scallop punch was used to punch real red to layer the main image on. The tab punch was used to punch regal rose cs for a pull tab.

Well the Stampin' Gods were not with me today, I am not happy with this one but I have to go to work. I will blame this on e3stamper (aka Shannon). Hope she does better than I did at meeting this challenge. This is a cute sketch I just did not do it justice. Sorry Rox.This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. Happy 55th Anniversary Mom & Pop

Yeh I found time to stamp this morning, This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE. I had just enough time to combine these 2 but not enough for Mondays TLC - will have to try that one this weekend.Anyway tomorrow is Anniversary # 55 for the in-laws and I needed a card. I lovingly tease them constantly about how much I hoped they enjoyed their 50th celebration. Guess who did most all of the prep work? I promised them if I survived it would happen again on their 75th because it would take me that long to work up the nerve to try again. LOL. So for this card I inked the negative side of Birds & Swirls CB folder with Soft Sky and ran vanilla cs through the cuttlebug. I matted this on soft sky then blue bayou. Blue bayou strips to accent the red lacey ribbon attached. The sentiment is one I found at the dollar store a few yrs back. I just loved the font of this one. It is stamped in versamark then heat embossed using red tinsel EP on vanilla cs. I cut that layer out using the giga scallop circle then mega scallop circle in red. Paper pierced the scallop centers of the red layer and popped the sentiment up on dimensionals. Hope they like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps:
Dollar Store Happy Anniversary
Paper: vanilla, red, blue bayou, soft sky
Ink: versa mark
Accessories: ribbon, red tinsel embossing powder, heat gun
Techniques: heat emboss

I stamped the strawberry once using SU Markers Real Red, Garden Green and choc chip and huffing. Then in choc chip craft ink followed by clear detail EP and heat set. I cut just the choc portion on the bottom out and attached it in place.

M.I.A.

Not really, just busy, busy, busy. Sorry for no recent posting. Everything has been in a whirlwing around here lately and I just keep waiting to wake up with a house sitting ontop of me since I am the wicked witch of the East. LOL I got maybe 4hrs sleep Thursday then had grands Friday evening. The new baby thinks if his eyes are open he shcould have a bottle in his mouth which tends to be every 2 hrs. Hope he gets out of that soon. I am usually always up by 5:30am every day work or not but Saturday it was after 9 and we were getting up to go out of town. Wanted an early start. That didn't happen. I guess I was making up for lost time between the sheets. We finally got out of here around noon and was on the water at3pm. We went to Keaton Beach and launched the boat, got to fish until 6, then went to find a room with a pool. Man was the water rough and even with the wind it was hot. Sunday morning we got up at 5am and headed back on the water. Not as much wind which made the heat even worse. Off the water by 2pm and on the road home. Shannon's kids had VBS last week so their program was at 6:30. We just did make it home, cleaned the boat, unloaded the truck, got a shower and off again. Somehow when I go out of town something always has to go wrong back at home and this was no exception. Michele's car left her on the side of the road, so I had to leave her with my truck last night until her's is fixed.
I am going through stamping withdrawals. Thursday morning no challenge ready before work, Friday the challenge was to make 3, yes 3 cards, well it takes me over 1 hr to make 1 card so that was not happening before work, Saturday, see above, remember the 9am oversleeping. Yep, no stamping that morning. Today's challenge is not up yet either but I am headed upstairs to play anyway.
