THT031 Wild Baby Bird, Button, and Bling

Well today is Thursday and that means it is time for another Treehouse Thursday Challenge. This week Ashley has challenged us to a recipe of a Bird, Button, and Bling. I used my Martha Stewart Dove punch, a button to help hold the easel card open and dotted the "i" with a crystal gem. Something new on Treehouse Blog site is that each week one of the design team members will be featured. This week it is none other than ME in the spotlight. I don't know why I am the DT Coordinator. I make a great follower just not that great at leading but I have been given the job and like any other job will do my best. For my spotlight I decided to make an easel card bc I love them and they are excellent for button use. I had made one in September that I liked so I CASED it and did some tweeking. My tuturial is on Stamp-a-ma-jigs. I had been stamping for about a year before I gave in and got one. I love it. I can use it on images, wording, anything. It is excellent for placement issues. I wanted to use a sentiment from Wild Baby stamp set sold at TREEHOUSE STAMPS but I was working with a 1.25 inch square and the sentiment would not fit. Perfect time to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig. So here is my description of when and how to use it.

Have you ever found youself with a sentiment that just did not fit where you wanted to put it or the wording was just too long and you could make it fit a different way. Well that is where a stamp-a-ma-jig comes in handy. If you don't have one you want to get one. You can get one from Stampin' Up or your local craft store.

Begin with placing the T shaped part on the corner of the clear plastic insert. Then stamp your sentiment in a dark ink on the clear plastic insert with your block snug in the corner of the T.
Next ink up each word one at a time with a water base marker , align your image stamped on the clear plastic insert as to where you want the word to be placed , slide the T piece flush up against the plastic, remove the plastic then stamp with the block flush up against the T in the same position used to stamp the 1st time. Continue this process until all wording is placed where you want it to be, cleaning your stamp after each impression is made.

I love the colors you chose for your "B" card today, Neva!! The button holding the easel card is just right, and so is the little gem. I have to say that those birds are one of my favorite punches! Your tutorial on the stamp-a-majig is wonderful......very clear. This is such a fabulous tool. I use mine all the time!
