Now about my projects in the picture above. I cut a piece of WalMart Winter Textured CS to wrap around a Mandarine Orange scented candle. I stamped "PERCY BUILDS FROSTY" in black on white CS then colored the buttons, nose, gloves, Frosty's head and paper pieced the scarf on Percy. The sentiment is from "ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS" stamped in bashful blue and matted on blue textured CS from the same stack. On top of the candle is a piece of WM Festive Holiday CS Sour Cream Container filled with Hersheys Kisses. I stamped the sentiment from "ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS" stamped in real red. Standing up next is a small note book with pen recovered with green CS and trimmed with red CS using the Fiskars Snowflake border/emboss punch. The Candy Cane is from "CHRISTMAS IS THE TIME FOR COOKIES" and was stamped in real red on white. Then colored with real red marker and covered the red with versa mark. I applied some candy cane EP and heat embossed it. The last item is from a previous Techinque Lovers Challenge SWEET CENTERPIECES. I made my folds then on the 4 corners I stamped the snowflake from "CREATE A BULB" in versamark then applied white embossing powder and heat set it. I rolled a thin strip of CS for the center and punched 2 large snowflakes, glued together with the stick in the center. Hope you enjoy hopping around with us.

Our only family tradition is to get together and eat. We love to get together and eat. I have been amazed by both of my girls and how they have grown up as young women. My oldest (Shannon) is a fanatic about trying new recipes. She came up with one several yrs ago and now every year that is the tradition dish expected by me for her to bring to the meal. Butternut Squash Casserole. Yum YUM!!! My mouth is watering just thinking that we are only a few wks away from getting to eat some. LOL. As a child I have such fun memories of the holidays. My Aunt Neva (yep I am named after her) made the absolute best chicken and dressing and I am thankful every time I make that she passed that down to me teaching me how to make it. Here is her recipe:
Aunt Neva's Yummy Chicken & Dressing
Boil Chicken and remove from bone set aside saving the stock
Corn Bread:
1 1/2 cups self rising flour
2 tbs grease
1 medium size onion chopped fine
3 eggs slightly whipped
1/2 cup self rising flour
enough buttermilk to mix soft then add some stock to make soggy
Bake at 500 degrees until brown allow to cool then crumble in large bowl
Dressing:
Mix crumbled corn bread with a fist full of crumbled saltine crackers
4 eggs slightly beaten
butter 1/4 cup softened
salt and pepper
deboned and shredded chicken
add enough stock to dressing to make soupy - should be able to pour easily
Pour in shallow greased baking pan/dish
Bake at 500 degrees until brown on top.

Images and sentiments in above projects can be purchased at H & M Stamp Company.

What cute projects! Since we moved to this house we have whoever can make it come every Christmas. My mom and one brother come up from Florida for the holidays so they can all get a chance to see her during her stay here.

I love to decorate for Christmas! When it becomes November I am always itching to get out my Christmas decorations and start putting them up. I know I have to wait until after Thanksgiving, but it's so hard to do!

I don't have any H&M stamps, but I will play along this weekend and post--since Heather and this DT is so darn amazing and you can win something even if you don't have any of Heathers stamps YET! :) I hope to get some very soon! hugs and tfs! Hope you had a fun Halloween!

I love the sour cream container! What a cute way to package treats! My favorite holiday memory was getting to open one present on Christmas Eve. It was fun to get one present early and be able to play with it before the holiday craziness began.

These are adorable, Neva! You always amaze me with the great ideas you consistently come up with!

I had to laugh when I thought of Christmas memories, because my family had one of those silver foil trees, and I just loved to put together the color wheel that rotated to make the foil reflect the various shades. I always woke my parents up at o'dark thirty because Santa had come! I paid for that as a parent myself! Matthew did the same! ;)
