Ethel & Handbag

I have been waithing for the right moment to get this new stamp from Rubbernecker dirty and today's color challenge seemed to be that moment. This is for today's REAL SOFT BAYOUColor Challenge and last weeks SKETCH CHALLENGE. The image is stamped in black Stazon then colored w/Prismacolor Pencils and blended w/gamsol.
When I saw the color challenge for today I knew exactly which stamp I wanted to use. I know you have seen those cute little old ladies that get their hair colored and it turns out blue? that over paint their lips with bright red lipstic and wear flashy colors that sometimes do not match well? I had an aunt that used to keep blue hair and I remember that from my childhood thinking how pretty it was. I have always loved blue, as a 50 yr old now I can say "WHAT WAS I THINKING!". I do still get a kick out of seeing them even though not too many blue haired ladies anymore, I still see the bright lipstick and mix matching. I added crystal effects to her glasses. I had one aunt that could slice pound cake thin enough you could see through it. She was not waisting anything. I think I inherited that trait. LOL. I ran the strip of real red left over from my mat cut through my paper crimper and used it as faux ribbon then tied a knot in rr and blue bayou stips. Hope you like it. I had fun making it even if it is 2am and I am suffering from insomnia.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Ethel & Handbag, Strange & Wonderful
Paper: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky Pattern Paper, real red
Ink: blue bayou, black stazon
Accessories: paper crimper, crystal effects
Techniques: Gamsol Magic

Where is the world do you find all these cute stamps? Did you take on an extra job to pay for them or do you have Jesse working extra shifts??? :)

The cutest ! I remember ,at age 8, a very elderly lady who had pink hair one day with her little poodle dyed pink to match...( maybe that is why i so love pink ) I was so impressed by that cool lady that I watched other ladies and eventually saw a lady with blue hair in church !
Thanks for taking me down memory lane !
