Cowyboy Kenny Thanks You

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE. I stamped the fence onto vanilla CS using Timber brown Stazon then colored the post. The wagon wheel is stamped with stazon, colored, cut out (even in between the spokes) and the left edge is popped up on 2 diminsional with the right edge glued to the CS for more of a tilted diminsional look. Cowboy Kenny was stamped 3 times then colored and the hat, bridel, and mane are all popped up as well as the image itself. This card will be hand delivered as I do not think it will lay flat enough to run through a metered machine. lol. All images were stamped w/Timber Brown Stazon then colored w/Prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. The sentiment is from a set I bought at Scrapbook markets Trash & Treasure sale many yrs ago and has a label on it "Wild West". It is red rubber on cling. If you know the name of it and from what company please let me know. There are many images in this set and they are all gorgeous. I will be giving this to my dd who was such a wonderful help with her sister's baby shower Sunday. I think she will get a kick out of it.

9th ANNIVERSARY

Well today is our 9th Anniversary. Yeh! I am still so happy. I was divorced for 11 1/2 yrs before I met my darling husband of today and it was well worth the wait. I told someone today that compared to my 1st marriage even with the minor faults this one is a walk in the park on a spring day. I still can not believe he wanted to marry me. Anyway I have a day full of meetings at work with one after another so no stampin' for me today especially since the WT Challenge was not up at 4:30am when I was. I will play catch up tomorrow because dh is taking me out to eat after work. I will also take a pic and upload my Anniversary card I got this morning. It is just tooo cute and you have to see it. Have a wonderful day.
UPDATE: I just received a dozen of the prettiest red rose buds in the most gorgeous arrangement I believe I have ever seen from dh. Isn't he the greatest? YES HE IS!! Pics to come as soon as I get home.

It's Bar-B-Que Time

OK I am so ready for these 40 mph winds to die down so dh can fire up the grill. I love grilled meat & vegs so when I saw today's SKETCH CHALLENGE I guess my brain kicked into grill mode because this is the first set I thought of and because I could not take time to think of how to combine the TLC and there was NO way to use this weeks colors this is 1 challenge card but please do not remove my crown. I will be back tomorrow with a double or triple hopefully, lol. Anyway this is paper studio red gingham dp matted on black. The red layer of cs is some I got from Micheals and I also stamped and cut the grill part out and glued it to the white layer with the grill stamped on it. the burgers and dogs are stamped in black stazon and colored with water color pencils as they have been feeling rejected since I bought my prismacolor pencils so I thought I would use them today. Crystal Effects applied to the dogs, cheese and lettuce on the burgers for shine. The apron, mitt & sentiment are stamped in rose red with the mitt cut out at glued to the sentiment layer which is popped up. The bottom of the red layer was trimmed with lace border punch bc you know us ladies have to have our lacey table cloths. How did I do considering I almost passed out when I saw the SC for today? Wild Rose Wedding Card

This is for today's COLOR - Krafty Orchid Shadows, Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS - CB The Negative Effect, and a previous week SKETCH CHALLENGES. Since I started stamping I have longed for the day that I make one of those cards that makes someone go " oooo". Well maybe today, or maybe not we will see, anyway I am so happy with how this turned out. I stamped fine lace using sage shadow on Kraft layer and matted on orchid. I ran the sage shadow layer through the cuttlebug after inking the neg side w/sage shadow using the script folder. The focal image was stamped with a script background I picked up at Michaels a few yrs back in sage shadow then the stem and leafs. I stamped off 1 time on the solid stamp leaf. The Rose buds were stamped in orchid with the solid stamp stamped off 1 time. I cut 1 of the rose & stem out and popped it up. Ranger Star dust Stickles applied randomly to the buds and leafs. This was then matted on orchid then sage after clipping the alternate corners with a corner punch on all 3 layers and popped up. I do not have any orchid ribbon yet but will be ordering some this week so I had to use what I had as close to it as I could find. The hodge podge hardware is compliments of e3stamper my dd who loves to buy and share with me. The sentiment is from Fancy Flexible Phrases and stamped in orchid. Please feel free to let me know if you held your breath when you saw this. It would do an old woman's heart good. OH MY I just realized you can barely make out the s in Mrs. but it is there.

Touch of Spring

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS - Cuttlebug:Negative Effect, Sunday's FEATURED STAMPER-Betcha Becky, Tuesday's COLOR -Basic Pomegrante, and BEATE'S WEEKEND SKETCH CHALLENGES all rolled up into this one card. I wanted to do Beate's Sketch and I also wanted to CASE another of Becky's cards and chose her CASED ALWAYS. I changed the sketch and colors and used the cb instead of PP. The birds & swirls folder was inked with purely pomegrante on the negative side of the folder then I placed my paper in, closed the folder and ran it through the CB machine and the results are the middle panel (which I discovered as I was putting this together that I should have placed horizontally rather than vertically, ooppps. So I had to flip the sketch a bit, Beate' wont mind I hope. I stamped the fern in versa mark on Basic Gray. I used a ribbon slider I received in some happy mail recently, yeh I am using new stuff. I colored the bird using my stamp pads and blender pen because on the other side of that cs I colored the hummingbird from another set using Prismacolor pencil and it turned out more of a purplish color-didn't like it so I turned it over and tried again. The sentiment was stamped in black and yes the t is on the tree branch. Oh and I got downstairs took the pic and realized as I was loading on SCS that I left off the Black Matt on the gray layer. Oh Well. Tomorrow is another day. Gotta head to work. Have a great day and stamp one for me.

Inspirational Treat Yourself

Well this certainly did NOT turn out irl as IMM (in my mind) :( I hate it when it does that! I have marvelous visions downstair while I soaked up the INSPIRATION - Candy Toss CHALLENGE. But something happened from downstairs to upstairs in my playroom. Anway here are the deets: I stamped the candy machine in black stazon and colored real red marker and a silver marker. Then stamped the globe part and cut the center out to reverse mask and stamped the candy pieces. I used the BB colors and should have chosen a different green. I stamped some candy and cut out to pop up. This was matted on red cs. The sentiment was inked w/markers, huffed, and stamped. The lollipops are a far cry from my visions but I put them on anyway. I used the small slices from Citrus & Such in dew drop versamagic mando & key lime and su Yo Yo Yellow Craft Ink then embossed w/clear glitter ep and matted this on orange cs. I will be giving this to one of my grandbabies on their BD. They don't care if it is not pretty they just like getting them.

MFT Ride'em Cowgirl

There was no stamping for me Thursday so I had some catching up to do plus I had some new stamps. YEH!!
This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY - No Tools, Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT-PP, Wednesday's SKETCH and a past Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS - ALL MIXED UP CHALLENGES. I just received my new MFT stamp set and needed to get it dirty so I stamped the image in Timber Brown Stazon on vanilla and then on the stripped PP. Cut out the skirt and pieced it on the vanilla. I braided 3 shades of hemp and glued this in circle where the rope image is on the stamp. I colored the boots and ground with watercolor pencils and stamped HOWDY in Timber Brown Stazon on the right upper corner of panel 2-b. The only tools used here were a paper cutter for the base & matts and blender pen for the wc pencils.

I've Been Tagged

OMGosh, this is my very 1st time of ever being tagged so I hope I follow the rules and do it correctly. I was tagged by Karen who has an awesome gallery on SCS. Thanks Karen. Onto the deets:
Facts About Me:
#1. I hate bridges-My 1st trip with my hubby was to St.George Island from Moultrie, GA. I handle the 1st bridge fair and kept my secret bc it was a short one. The 2nd one still OK with and no breach of secret yet but when we started over to the island on that seemingly 10mile long bridge he kept looking over at me after asking me a question and I did not answer and I was red faced, almost blue. I hold my breath just in case some idiot on the other side hits us and knocks us over the side making us fall in the water. Silly I know but a phobia of mine nevertheless. He thought I was upset with him when I started crying.
#2. I was born in Indiana and my mom brought me, brother and herself back to GA to live when I was 3yrs old where I have lived since. Tifton GA for 35 yrs and Moultrie for the past 9 yrs since I got married to the most perfect match for me.
#3. I was named after my mom's sister who sort of took over as a mother figure when their mom died. Her name was Geneva. She was more like a mom to me than an Aunt enough so that my 2 girls called her Granny and her husband Papa. She died 2 weeks before my 1st grandchild was born in 2001 and I still miss her terribly.
#4. I have ugly feet and usually do not wear sandles that reveal my first 4 toes all the same length and almost no little toe so please do not look at my feet when you meet me. I usually describe my feet as I do myself - short, fat & ugly.LOL.
#5. I always wanted to be either a teacher or a nurse. I had been out of high school 16 yrs before I got enough never to go back and graduated in 1997 from ABAC college, took my nursing exam and have been a licensed RN since. I love nursing.
#6. I had always thought how cool it would have been to have lived back in Scarlet, Ashley & Rent Butler's day of Gone With The Wind one of fav movies and I married a wonderful man in 1999 who is a Civil War Re-Enactor so guess what? I get to see a small fraction of what it would have been like. 9 layers of clothing is not the fun part. Camping in a tent with no heat or fans is not always fun but I do enjoy being in camp and watching the battles. I am continuously learning new history around those guys too.
#7. I am addicted to stamping. My gallery probably reflects that. I must stamp daily or I get the shakes. LOL. I was introducted to stamping by some co-workers. I had a SU class one day and invited my 2 girls and my oldest one was hooked too. She is now a SU Demo. I love SU stamps.

OK enough about me, now I want to know more about you so I am tagging you Shannon, Lauren, Linsey, Faith, Amanda, Kelly, & Shelly who are so kind and faithful to comment in my SCS gallery and my blog.

The rules to go by:
• Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
• Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog, we all want to know them.
• Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
• Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Hope to read your replies soon. Have a great day. Gotta go to work and the challenge is not up yet. EEEKKK

To Have And To Hold

OK here is the news of the day, week, or month whichever: My DH will NEVER be able to repay the debt he is accumulating. Last week I volunteered to go into ICU and work in his place so he and a co-worker could leave work and go fishing. See trout season opened 3/1/08 from being closed the entire month of Feb every year and he goes stir crazy after 3/1 until he gets to wet a hook. lol so for the sake of his mental wellbeing I was a good wife. When I volunteered I thought I would just be there if they needed me, turns out I was working with a fairly new employee and was sorta overseeing her and only 1 other experienced nurse working ooops. Well of course the phone rang and a new patient coming. The rest of the shift was AWEFUL. While I was finishing up my card Tuesday the phone rang and I was relieved when I heard his voice knowing it was not the hospital calling to see if I could work. Well guess what, they put him up to calling for them! eeekk. So I went again, and I worked ICU again. Thank GOD it was a much better day. I vowed not to answer the phone this morning if it rang :) OK on to today's challenge:
This is for today's SKETCH and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGES. These colors are so elegant I had to make a Wedding Card with them. I used the new Cuttlebug Birds & Swirls embossed folder on the basic gray layer then applied stickles randomly then matted on black. The white layer was stamped with Gina K's Circle Stamp using versamark then heat embossed with Stampedous Marcasite EP cut out and matted on black Mega Scallop punch. The image is stamped in black stazon then colored w/blender pen from the ink pads. I applied Crystal Effects to the flowers and Ranger Stardust stickles to teh viel and gown. This really sparkles IRL. Hope you can see the shine and hope whoever gets this really likes it.

Ink: black stazon, versa mark, purely pomegrante, black

CASEing Summer By The Sea

This blunder is for today's attempt at the FEATURED STAMPER, combined with Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE and Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS - Vellum DeBossing. I chose Paris' Credit to Lacyquilter to CASE. Did not do it justice. The hat is what I used as vellum debossing. I wanted to do something with all of that white area so I used my color spritzer tool again and botched it up again. I just can not seem to get the color to come out evenly and would be greatful for any tips on this. I am one of those stampers who just can not seem to leave a mess alone, I have to keep messing it up. But time is running out to get ready for church so I am loading it anyway. Sorry Paris' I will try another one later. I changed the colors and the sketch and replaced the primas for daisy brads.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Summer By The Sea, Wonderful Words

This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE which fit what I needed for today anyway. It is storming here and not sure if we will loose power or not so I needed to make a quickie. I also needed a gift card for a bridal shower tomorrow for my niece so I made a 3x3 simple card. Stamped the bride & groom image in black on white and used a scrap from her WEDDING CARD I made recently for the lower part of the gown by paper piecing. Flowers are colored w/SU Rose Red Marker and the grooms tux & their hair is colored w/prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. I applied Ranger Star Dust Stickles to the flowers, veil top portion of her gown and the raised portion of the lower vanilla CB layer. The sentiment is stamped in black. Pretty Amazing Happy Returns

This is for today's SKETCH and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGES. This actually turned out better than I thought it was going to even with all of the trouble I had with it. {HERE are the low down dirty details. : I stamped my flower in versamark and did poppin' pastel technique bc I have not used that one in awhile. I used the chaulk in the set that said it was ROSE RED which was the alternate for Pomegrante. Well it looks more like real red once I placed it against the paper. The bird I stamped in versa mark and embosed in a pomegrante EP then filed in the open area using teh versamark pen which I have always had trouble with. Used the saffron, rose red & green chaulks. YUK this looks aweful. So I ended up just coloring the bird and stamping the flower with ink.} The flower is stamped in purely pomegrante and the center was wiped and then inked with so saffron (messy). Stickles applied in the center. The humingbird was colored w/prismacolor pencils then blended w/gamsol and stickles applied. The flower & bird are popped up on the corner of wild wasabi pattern prints and the focal image stem stamped in so saffron then sentiment stamped over that in pomegrante & wasabi. Stickles applied to the stem and the flowers stamped on layer 1 in pomegrante. Pomegrante faux ribbon knots in the corners of layer 2. Hope you like it. I think I will give this to a co-worker who is overworked and stressed out. She truely is amazing at juggling all of us and her 2 immediate bosses too, very demanding of her attention.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Pretty Amazing, Many Happy Returns
Paper: Pomegrante & Wasabi Pattern Paper, So Saffron, Wasabi
Ink: Wasabi, Pomegrante, Saffron, Black Stazon

This is for today's COLOR - Wild Pomagrantes, Monday's TECHNQIUE LOVERS - Vellum DeBossing, and last Wednesday's SKETCH. I love today's color combo and will be using it more often. The rasberries and butterfly are stamped in black stazon on vellum and then debossed with stylus. I colored with So Saffron Marker & ink pads w/blender pen for pomagrante & wasabi. Brads in all 4 corners and some yummy pomagrante double stitched ribbon my dd e3stamper shared with me recently. This time it turned out much better than Monday. I applied Ranger Star Dust Stickles to both images. The pomegrante layer was embossed with the cuttlebug and birds & swirls folder which I just simply LOVE. Hope you like it. I think this will be my MIL Mother's Day card.

Natural Beauty 5 in 1 Challenges

I did not get to stamp Sunday :(. Went with DH to a battle as a belle so no time. Making up for that I did a 1st 5in1 challenges today. Yep that's right!1. Today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS -VELLUM.2. Sunday's FEATURED STAMPER CASEing her WILD ABOUT STAMPING card.3.Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT - NOTES.4. Tuesday's COLOR-Black Rock Elegance.5. Last Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS - All Mixed Up.I will teach him to keep me from my play room. teehee.I was totally inspired by Mary's gallery and had a really hard time choosing because if I CASED any one of them I would want to make exact copies. I went with this card wishing I had some of that yummy paper and used last weeks challenges to make the changes. I changed the colors, theme and left of the small image to the upper right. The flower is done in Vellum using the debossing technique. Hard to see in pic but visable IRL. Probably should have matted it on RR cs instead of white.

Paper: VEllum. Black, Whtie, River Rock, Paper Studio Music Sheet, Impressions Black w/With Dots
