Winter Wonderland

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 349 - Telescoping Image. I am not sure if I did this correct or not but here it is. Looking back I should have removed the nestie before stamping. This is also for today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 142 - Colors Ivory/Choc/Red.
I have had this dp for eon's and finally used some of it today. Someone tell me why we do that. Buy something we just have to have and then hoard it.
Oh well, off to work. Brrrrr.

Then Saturday found most of us meeting again at the Elk Lodge for a night of fun, food and fancy footsteps out on the dance floor:

During the night we had awards given away and of all things I won the "ROCKING CHAIR AWARD" for having the most grandchildre (7) which was a box of Wonka "runts" candy and a bottle of Bayer "Back and Body",  How is that for prestige? LOL

Ginger Cookie Candy Bar Door Hanger

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 345 - Blushing Rose Limeade.
I backed up and tried Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 347 - Candy Bar Door Hanger and am so glad I did, so NOT as difficult as I imaged.
I used lucky lemonade cs as my base and topped it with some BoBunny dp. I made my hole with my brand new Nestie "Holiday Tags". Whoo Hoo, love some new stuff.

I used a just released acrylic set from MARKS FINEST PAPERS called "GINGER COOKIES". Love that set. I stamped the small image randomly using regal rose ink on both the cs and dp. I used the inside portion of the Holiday Tag to make a tag and stamped the "TO: and FROM:" also in regal rose.

Tied some blushing bride ribbon on the tag and top of the door hanger and filled it with my kind of candy bar - chocolate filled with nuts. Now I wonder who's door I could hang this on? NOPE the real question is will it keep til 12/24? Probably NOT!! LOL
Have a fabulous Tuesday everyone.

This is for today's FREE 4 ALL CHALLENGE # 86 - Cards With Character. Well the character that this was made for is certainly a card. My FIL is such a dear and even though he is a diabetic and watches what he eats he still loves his sweets so I always make him something with Splendar instead of sugar in it. This will be his Christmas card this year. I hope he likes it.

My dp is from years ago and I do not even know how many years or where it came from. I used some ribbon and "V"'d the end for panel 3. I stamped this darling image which is from a just released acrylic set called 'GINGER COOKIES" from MARKS FINEST PAPERS in esspresso ink then colored with copics cut it out and popped it up.

Oh how I love this fabulous set.  I stamped the image in momento tuxedo black using masking for the smaller moose image .  I added some color with copics then added some puffy snow using liquid applique and heating it from the backside
So for this I took some liberties with the snowman image and used the treat cups I have had for over a year and finally put to use.  On the left the view with the treat cup empty and on the right filled with tiny marshmellows. I glued a marshmellow above the left tree branch on the card front.

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 354, Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 344 - Tempting Eggplant Pie and Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 346 - Stack Up The Backgrounds. I stamped my "Crackled" background image from Rubber Stampeded after stamping off using elegant eggplant ink then stamped a sentiment from a just released acrylic stamp set from MARKS FINEST PAPERS called "Christmas in the Country" in tempting turquoise and pumpkin pie inks randomly. My focal image is a cute penguin from "Snowball" stamp set also just released from MARKS FINEST PAPERS. I cut, embossed my focal panel with Nesties Label 4 then popped it up after coloring with copics. Now off to work on "Hump Day".

MFP Oct Blog Hop Day 1 - Holly Greetings

Hello! Welcome to the October 2011 MFP New Releases Blog Hop!

This month's new releases are: Holly Greetings, Christmas in the Country, Snowball?, Country Thanksgiving, Cardinals in Winter, and Ginger Cookies. For your convenience, all these sets are available TODAY at Mark's Finest Papers.

So, do you want to WIN today's Featured Stamp Set: Holly Greetings? (If you don't want to wait to win, you can always purchase the sets right away! We'll substitute a set from NEXT month's release if today's winner has already purchased this set!)

For your chance to win: Comment on the following Design Team members' blogs TODAY before midnight EDT. There will be ONE random winner chosen from the comments on today's Blog Hop blogs. That winner will win Holly Greetings. We will announce the winner's name on tomorrow's MFP blog post.

So here is what I came up with using this fun set:
I stamped the holly and berry image in all 4 corners, colored with copics then tied some gold and red cording around the main panel and matted on green cs base.  The focal panel is one of the sentiments stamped in garden green cut and embossed using Nesties Label 1 then sponged on the inside of the nestie with real red.

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 344 - Tempting Eggplant Pie.
This is also for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 346 - Stack Up The Backgrounds. I stamped the background image from "BRICK WALL" acrylic stamp set after stamping off once then stamped the sentiment from "HOLLY CHRISTMAS" in elegant eggplant randomly followed by some tempting turquoise sponging around the edges.
My layout is from Monday's SKETCH AND STASH CHALLENGE # 72.
Now I have to admit I usually avoid detailed images such as this one as I have a hard time figuring out what is what but I did enjoy coloring this one even if I did it wrong. My image and sentiments are from a brand new set called "HOLLY CHRISTMAS" from MARKS FINEST PAPERS. After coloring I cut and embossed the focal panel using Nestie Label 9.
Hope you like it.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Holly Christmas, Brick Wall - MFP
Paper: white, elegant eggplant
Ink: momento tuxedo black, elegant eggplant, tempting turquoise
Accessories: ribobn, Nestie Label 9, dimensionals, sponges, stickles
Techniques: sponge distressing, 3D, layered background

What a Monday!!

OK so let me tell you how my day started:  Can you tell already?  I went to see Jessie when I got to work to give him something and on the way out of the ICU he said "why are you bleeding?"  I looked down at the left corner of my less than 2 month old white vest which was now begining to turn RED!!!!
A red sharpe that is used when I put PICC lines in was leaking in my pocket since the top had come off.  This had to have just happened.
I quickly went to my office and started with hair spray, soap and friction rub which only allowed for more bleeding on my vest and I actually rubbed a blister then busted it on my finger.  GGGRRRRRR!!!!

You know what happens to sharpe' ink when you try to get it out?  It bleeds everywhere.  I have a small spot on my white work shirt as well.

I have them both currently soaking in OXY CLEAN and am praying that they do not come out PINK!!

A Cup of Christmas Cheer

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 346 - Stack Up On Backgrounds. I used Fine Lace stamped in garden green and a poinsetta image stamped in real red.
This is also for today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 139 - Breakfast Photo Inspiration.
Sunday was caotic so I am finally getting around to the FEATURED STAMPER CHALLENGE # 244 - outtoimpress where I found inspiration in her CHRISTMAS TEA. I changed the layout, left off the brads and my sentiment is on my focal panel. I also used a different image but kept the theme.
I also missed last Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE # 343 - Pass Me A Hot Beverage so I added it to the rest just because I love to PILE'EM ON. LOL.
My images are digital images that I found and had never used before. I used GIMP to add the Christmas Bell image on the front of the cup then printed and colored with copics, cut embossed and sponged using Nestie label 14.
Happy Columbus day and Happy Monday everyone. It is raining again today here "YEAH" praise the Lord, we sure need it, Jessie took a tick off the back of one of our 13lb catfish swimming around in what little bit of water there is left in our pond.

Stamps: Fine Lace - SU, Poinsetta - Stampabilities, digi cup & Christmas image
Paper: white
Ink: real red, garden green
