Paper Pierced Angel Hugging Heart

This is for today's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Time. I was in a hurry when I made this card and it took me 10 min from start to finish. That is a record for me. I used a simple layout and copics to color. I hope Julia does not have the challenge police arrest me this week. That would be a terrible way to start the new year. This is also for today's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE - Paper Piercing. This week Ashley has challenged us to pierce somewhere on our projects. I did mine in the lower right and left corners of my main panel. I got this image from Ashley in my Christmas package and could not wait to ink it up. Thanks Ashley. I stamped this darling angel from Whiff Of Joy in graphite black then colored with copics. I used my spica glitter pen to trace around the flourishes and added some stickles to the wings for Wednesday's CRAFT CREATIONS CHALLENGE - Make The New Year Glitter. I applied some glue and then some cotton around the angel bc she is in the clouds waiting to bring that sweet someone something sweet. aaahhh to be a dreamer. My sketch was designed by my very own cyber friend and CHA companion Lori and it is Saturday's PAPER CRAFT PLANET SKETCH December 26, 2009. Lori and I share a love for the simple layouts so I absolutely love this one. My dp is from Basic Grey -Indian Summer. Image, paper and DP used for this creation can be found at TREEHOUSE STAMPS. Hope you like it. Now come on play along with us this week by poking some holes. Make sure to include THT030 in your uploads so we can see what you made.

Christmas 2009

When I made this card I posted on SCS that I could not wait to see my hubby's reaction when he opened it and so I was lucky enough to snap a shot at the perfect time. He absolutely cackled. We are both cat lovers and I was hoping it would tickle his funny bone.
My sweet FIL took this pic of the clan with the exception of James who had to work Thursday :( . Have you ever tried to hurd 7 grandchildren into one area for a picture. LOL. We had a blast the whole day together. I am so filled with Nana sugar, enough to last me at least a whole week. My babies sure are growing. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas. Stay safe and remember Jesus is the reason for the season.

THT029 Faux Silk Cool Wishes

This is for today's Treehouse Thursday Challenge to do Faux Silk. I have never tried this technique before until now. I think I like it. I stamped the snowflakes from Cool Wishes in cool carribean and taken with teal then did some dots with my SU marker. My focal panel is a sentiment from Christmas Greetings then doodled around the edges. Both stamp sets can be found at TREEHOUSE STAMPS and they are all on sale. Ashley has marked most everything down 25-75% off so take some of that Christmas money you got for gifts and go shopping. Teehee.
I am not sure why my white panels look off white but they do. Hope you can join us for today's fun technique. Just include THT029 in your keyword so we can see what you made. This is absolutely my LAST Christmas card this year. I am going to try to do at least 1 a month next year so I don't have so many to do during the season.

Cool Wishes Snowflake Button

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Crushed Red Sand. My desert is a button I made from my Fiskars Snowflake Punch using a technique from the past TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - 5 Layered Button which I absolutely love making. After the crstal effects dried I tied some red ribbon, gold and silver cording through the button holes into a bow. My sketch is from Monday's THE PINK ELEPHANT CHALLENTE # 46 - SKETCH. I stamped the image in black brilliance on white cs then on a post it note so I could use it as a mask. Then with my air brush system and copic marker I sprayed some crushed curry color around the image. I did not have a match for sahara sand so I broke out my spritzer tool which I fight with every time I use it. That is why I broke down and bought an air compressor to air brush with. Anyway my penguin is at the beach and the sand is around his feet and the the sun is getting ready to set but it is still cool so he needed his scarf anyway. My sentiment is stamped in real red ink. I punched the sahara sand layer with my Fiskars snowflake border punch after stamping it with the snowflake in this darling stamp set that I got from TREEHOUSE STAMPS called COOL WISHES. How did I do?
RECIPE:
Stamps: Cool Wishes - THS
Paper: white, sahara sand, real red, crushed curry
Ink: black brilliance, sahara sand, real red

Well you guessed it my color combo is from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Saffron Moss Melons. I used 2 stamp sets Winter and Cup of Cocoa both from CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS. Believe In Word Holiday Sleigh

This is for today's TAKE THE TUESDAY CHALLENGE provided by CLEAR AND SIMPLE each month. This month we are challenged to create something for holiday decor. Well that was easy for me since I just loved this sleigh template so much and Shannon did too so I made her one. I think I like hers better than the 1st one. Hmm may have to swap it out huh? LOL. This one was made with a sheet of red metallic for the sleigh portion and the gold metallic for the frame. I used large brad to attach the frame to the sleigh. This template found on the CLEAR AND SIMPLE BLOG site is one of the easiest and most fun ones I have done. This sleigh was trimmed in gold cording, filled with red confetti and peppermints. The focal image is a decorated black ink pen. I punched 2 Marvy extra giga scallop circles in green and 2 giga scallop circles in white. I stamped the image 4 times in graphite black then colored with copics. and cut out the 2 birds and popped them up on dimensionals.
Here is another angle of this desktop treat holder.

And here is a close up of this darling cardinal image. I just think it is awesome. I think I will put this on my desk for decoration since they will not let us plug in trees (insert pout). This darling image is from a set called BELIEVE IN WORDS IV and will be available on December 10th from CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS.
I made this in my all time favorite Christmas color combo (red , green and gold) so it is also for this weeks challenge from THE PINK ELEPHANT. Hope you like it. Come on play along with this months Take the Tuesday Challenge and visit the other Clear and Simple Design Team members for more eye candy.

Farm Fever

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER CHALLENGE - MitchyGlitchyGoomy. I decided to CASE Michelle's YOU CURED!! card, I bought this retired set from Ashley Bowen when she was doing some spring cleaning last year making room for Grant. I love this set and my dh is why I had to have it. I was browsing the galleries one day and he saw a card using this stamp and just got so tickled. I kept the paper piecing for the pillow, left off the scallop frame and primas. Used the same style and theme of image, left off the pearl accents and used ribbon instead. Did the border punch but a different one. My image was stamped 3 times and then colored with copics. I cut the head & feet out to pop up. I cut the pillow out to paper piece. I did not do Michelle's card justice and decided I should NOT stamp when I am not well, but oh well it is what it is. I guess I made myself a get well card huh? LOL
RECIPE:
Stamps: Farm Fever
Paper: white, close to cocoa, berry bliss
Ink: graphite black
Accessories: copics, ribbon, MS heart lace border punch
Techniques: paper piecing, 3D

Western Sky Metal Pendant

I have not felt like stamping much this week. Sorry for no post. My head still feels like it is dissattached from my shoulders. I hate medication that makes me feel funny. This is for today's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE - Charm Lady Boutique. Oh My there were soo many lovely pendants it was impossible to choose just 1 for inspiration. I was initial inspired by all of the light aqua colors and then I decided it must be time to try Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Metal Washer Pendants. I am soo impatient on waiting 24hrs for something to dry. gggrrr. I smudged a bit, how you can not see where. I used my heat gun very high above the pendant to speed up the process. Treaded some hemp with beads and this necklace matches a blouse I picked up for one of my girls. I hope she likes it. I will be making more of these.

Lovely All Year Cheer

Well I got a call last night and said Yes to working ICU today. What WAS I thinking? 12hrs in ICU on a rainy day when I have bronchitis and would rather be on the couch since 2hrs sleep is all I got. Have you ever coughed so much that you could hardly breath? NOT fun. Also not fun is trying to bring up your toenails through your tummy. No sleep so I decided to check out the challenges. This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Very Black Suede with some dessert of Frosted lace stickles. I stamped the group of trees on my focal panel in soft suede then the single tree on my side panels. All panels are matted on 1/16in matt of soft suede. 1in square punch of black cs cut in half and suede lg brad attached to the center. Sentiment is from All Year Cheer 1 stamped in soft suede. This reminds me of snow that is starting to melt. Winter is not here and I am already wishing spring was on it's way. I hate cold weather and our high tomorrow is suppose to be 47. bbbrrrrr.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, All Year Cheer I - SU
Paper: vanilla, soft suede, black
Ink: soft suede
Accessories: brads, square punch, Ranger frosted lace stickles

Want to have some more fun. Here is a free Bonue Template of a darling sleigh designed by Sue as well. Try it, you'll like it!

Here is my attmpt at this hot cocoa mug template created by Sue, you have to try this one out.
I love this fantastic stamp set. I filled my cup with a treat bag of cocoa, marshmallows and a Hersheys choc bar tied with some satin brown ribbon. I used the December Stamp of the Month Cup template created by Sue for this project. I created my cup base & handle from the medium brown cs, trimmed the top and bottom with a gold leafing pen bc that's how most of my decorative cups look. I used a strip of vanilla for the middle of the cup and randomly stamped the short sentiments and double marshmallow image in choc chip ink. The focal sentiment and framed image were stamped in close to cocoa on vanilla, matted on a darker brown both trimmed using the Nestability Labels 3. I made a coordinating 3x3 gift card using vanilla and medium brown cs. My focal image was stamped in espresso ink then colored with copics. I filled in the marshmallows with a white jel pen to make then stand out.

Here are some more views:
This is everything outside of the cup.The gift cardFront view of the empty cup.Back view of the cup

We hope you are inspired by all of our creations. Please hop over to the Clear and Simple Stamps Blog and the other Design Team Members for more eye candy using this stamp set and cup template.

Cup of Cocoa Sneak Peek

This is for today's CARD POSITIONING SYSTEM's Sketch for this week. What a fun layout to work with. I used a set that will be released Dec 1st from CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS called Cup of Cocoa. Flight of the Bee CASEing

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - Mrs.Boz. I decided on her BE YOURSELF CARD. I loved the colors and sentiment on this darling card. I changed the theme, layout, and used honeycomb embossed plate. I just had to pull out my Flight of the Bees from CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS. This was one of my 1st purchases from them and I love it. I stamped the bee on white then colored with copics. I punched them with 1in circle punch then black matt with 1 1/4 in circle punch. I punched a hole in the top to thread the hemp and tie around the ribbon. My layout is from Saturday's OUR CREATIVE CORNER CHALLENGE - Sketch. I found some cs that was close to honey colored and trimmed it with my Martha Stewart drippy goo bc honey is drippy right? LOL. I added some stickles to the bee wings and the dripping portion of the trim. Sentiment was stamped with graphite black.

Cup of Cocoa Snowman Soup Treat Box Sneak Peek

OH I just love this time of year and sending Snowman Soup is right up there on the top of my To Do List. LOL. I made this treat box out of a piece of Winter Textured DP from Wal Mart years ago. It measures out finished 5H,4L,1W and is filled with Hot Cocoa Mix, Marshmallows (they are there just hard to see) and a candy cane. I punched out the Nesties Oval Scallop in the center of the front side of the treat box then used that section to matt the sentiment on that is stamped in bashful blue and pacific point for the matching greeting card using a white card base and the dark blue textured cs from the stack. I used a set that will be released Dec 1st at midnight from CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS. Hold onto your hat's because Sue has created another awesome template to coordinate with this darling stamp set. Oh I hope you like this sneak peek. Keep watching for more sneak peeks and eye candy from the CSS Design Team Members. Here is a snap shot of everything separated.and this is a close up of the card.

Sneak Peek Cup of Cocoa in a Winter Sleigh

Well Sue Berker over at Clear and Simple Stamps has done it again with a fantastic and fun template this month as a bonus. With the holiday season getting to a great start this Winter Sleigh template is a perfect addition to the seasonal decor around the home or office. Fill it full of goodies and watch everyone around flock to your desk

I used some red glitter dp for the sleigh body and some metallic dp for the gold frame. For the inside I used my gold leafing pen. I used 4 lg gold brads to attached the frame to the sleigh. A gold wired ribbon bow adorns the outside, red confetti paper on the inside topped with red and gree peppermints. I punched 2 Nestie labels 4 in Glorious Green cs then stamped the frame image from Cup of Cocoa set that will be released on Dec 1st in real red and the sentiment is from a set released the 15th of this month called Cookie Bake. Both sets are from Clear and Simple Stamps. I cut out the frames and attached it to the Nesties on both sides so that they look the same from front and back then adhered them to the jumbo paper clip and slid the clip to the side of the sleigh. This template can be found on the Clear and Simple Stamps Blog for you to print out and make one for yourself. I love how this turned out and hope you do too.

Winter Snowmen Fun

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. Rox has given us a "funky" sketch this week to play with. OK don't faint, yes this is just 1 challenge. I had this vision in my head as soon as I saw the SC and did not want to stray from it. I am absolutely luvin' how this turned out. I stamped the snowflakes in versamark on both pieces of cs and embossed the white with Cuttlebugs Snowflake folder then highlighted with some stickles. Ya know I gotta have some stickles. LOL. My cute snowmen were stamped in graphite black then colored with copics, cut out and popped up on the same colors of CS punched with 1 3/8 circle punches and then SU scallop circle punch. The sketch made me think of snowmen playing on a hill of snow so that is what I went with and I hope you like it too. I tore some cotton balls and spread them out to be placed under the card for this picture which makes it look like this card is also standing on snow. Cute Huh? I am so gifted, NOT!!
RECIPE:
Stamps: Winter
Paper: white, red & green
Ink: graphite black
Accessories: copics, circle punch, scallop circle punch, Cuttlebug, Snowflake EF
