Welcome Aboard

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 331. Oh Holly I am not sure if I did this right or not but here it is anyway.
I am also playing catch up from Sunday's FEATURED STAMPER CHALLENGE # 229 - sevencats where I found inspiration to CASE her ALL ABOARD. I changed the layout, theme, and the colors. I loved the way Claudine stamped the railroad track on the twill.
I stamped my focal image twice on vanilla using Adirondeck Espresso ink then colored them both alike. On one I punched out 4 one inch squares to simulate window frames then dry embossed with Tim Holtz Woodgrain Folder. I adhered some acetate and them popped that up on top of the other colored image matted on really rust. Sentiment is stamped in espresso ink as well. This is the best I could come up with as I have been between the bed and recliner all weekend with a high fever. Now it is time to muster up some energy to go to work.
RECIPE:
Stamps: All Aboard - MFP
Paper: vanilla, really rust
Ink: espresso
Accessories: twill, acetate, copics, Tim Holtz Woodgrain EF

So in an attempt to redeem myself I have made another TRUE Color Challenge and Sketch Challenge following.
This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 337 and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 327 - Vanilla Chocolate Olives. I thought doing a SC last night I could just get up this morning and go to work but NO not me. My brain cells must have gotten fried in Boston, or when I fell in Boston bc I picked up the wrong dp Tuesday for the CC and again last night then this morning realized I did not truely follow the sketch. GGGRRRR so in an attempt to redeem myself here you go.
I stamped this fabulous relaxing beach scene in adirondack espress ink then colored with copics trimmed, matted and popped it up on dimensionals. My choc chip base is embossed with Shell Collage embossing folder from cuttlebug that I had to have and never have used. I flipped the sketch and my focal image is so large that is hard to see the shell. I used some OLD OLIVE Pattern paper for panel 2 and for paper piecing the beach umbrella.
Now I can go to work with my head held hi. LOL. Sorry Vicki & Korin. Anybody got an extra "get out of jail free" card just in case I need it?
RECIPE:
Stamps: Ocean Paradise - SNS
Paper: vanilla, choc chip, old olive
Ink: Adirondeck Espresso, choc chip
Accessories: stickles, Cuttlebug, Shell Collage, dimensionals
Techniques: paper piecing, 3D, copic coloring

Sand, Surf, Relax

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 327 - Vanilla Chocolate Olives.
My layout is from Monday's MOJO MONDAY # 195.
My stamp set is from MARKS FINEST PAPERS called "Sand, Surf, Relax" which is what I long to do. I would love to be in that boat drifting down a creek with no-one around, no phones, just me and nature spending some time together.
OK enough of fantasy land, now back to reality, I stamped my image in momento rich cocoa on vanilla cs then matted on certainly celery and choc chip. I trimmed all layers on opposite corners with my corner punch. My middle panel is certainly celery pattern paper with choc chip border using Fiskars border punch. My sentiment was stamped in choc chip. The 3 faux brads were made with choc chip cs and my crop-a-dile popped up and covered with glaze.
Now off to the real world of "WORK".
RECIPE:
Stamps: Sand,Surf,Relax - MFP
Paper: vanilla, choc chip, certainly celery, certainly celery pattern paper
Ink: momento rich cocoa, choc chip
Accessories: Fiskars border punch, corner punch, crop-a-dile, dimensionals

Butterflied Patchwork

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 329 - Patchwork. I found a sheet of dp with butterflies all over in lined up in squares and so I went for it. I have never tried to quilt as it appears tooo complicated for me and when I think of patchwork I think of quilts. I lined each one of the butterflies back up in the same order as they appeared on the full sheet of dp then adhered them to some choc chip cs.
This section ended up much bigger than I expected. LOL.
This was then matted onto a 5 1/2 x x=11 piece of vanilla cs for a base.
I had recently received a stack of these die cut butterflies from the one and only "YLM" who gifted them to me after I admired her's. Was that so sweet of her or what? YEAH! Thank you again Cindy. I love this site, so full of inspiration and some of the friendliest stampers in the world.
My layout is from today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 123 - Sketch Inspired by mocjen.
Now off to work and back to the normal routine until the next time I have to go to Boston.
RECIPE:
Paper: vanilla, chocolate chip, ? dp
Accessories: butterfly die

Madison's Baptism

There is nothing more pleasing than when one of God's chosen comes forward and accepts the gift of eternal life provided by His son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins.  This is a picture of Shannon's middle child, Madison, who was baptized today.  I saw tears of joy from her mom and dad and smiles of pride from everyone else.

Here she has received a gift which is a King James Version of the Holy Bible with a White and Purple cover. WOW Purple is her most favorite color.

Her dad stepped behind her mom just as I was taking a picture.
Way to go Madison.  We are so proud of you.

A CASE of Wrapped Up with Sympathy

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER # 227 - StamperCamper. I chose to CASE Mary's ON THE GROW changing the colors, ribbon type and placing mine on the right of my image, and layer placement.
I used a completely neglected set I just had to have called "ALL WRAPPED UP" from Stampin' Up for Friday's FREE 4 ALL CHALLENGE # 68 - Your Tired, Poor, Neglected Stamps.
My color combo is from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 326 - Regal Pink Mambo's.
I decorated an envelope to coordinate with my card for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE #328 - Decorate the Envie.
I stamped the jar and flowers in black then the stems in certaily celery and added a bit of shading with old olive marker. I stamped 2 other flowers also in black. I colored with copics and cut the 2 flowers out. They are popped up on 2 different levels of dimensionals.
Sadly enough I am in need of this sympathy card as a fellow co-worker who is about 1/2 into her 1st pregnancy just found out her baby has died. So sad for her and the family.
RECIPE:
Stamps: All Wrapped Up, Warmest Regards - Stampin' Up
Paper: white, pink pirourette, regal rose, melon mambo, kraft pattern paper
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, melon mambo
Accessories: ribbon, dimensionals, crystal effects, stickles, dimensionals

The stamp set I used is not wanted I had in mind to use today but it has NEVER seen ink and I just had to have it from Close To My Heart years ago. Sadly enough it has been in the draw I store them in since I brought it home.

I inked the image again and stamped it directly onto the white cs.  I used copics to color and added some stickles along the shore line.  I wanted this to appear as 2 swans swimming along thinking of one another. I stamped the sea shells and sentiment around randomly then colored with copics.  I also stamped the 2 larger sea shells on vanilla cs then colored and cut out to paste in the corners.   I used some pink cs behind and will place one of my favorite beach pictures in this and put it back in the photo frame to hang on the wall.

Mark’s Finest Papers

I made this Matchbook Post-It Note Holder for a friend at work who so graciously thought of me one day while I was working and she was loafing around in a craft store.  I followed the tutorial HERE from Splitcoast Stampers Resource page but did have to do some tweaking since my note pad was a bit smaller than their measurements called for.
I used this brand new darling acrylic set from Marks Finest Papers for my focal image by stamping 1 on a post-it note, cutting it out and using it as a mask then stamped away to make it look like a garden full of poppies.  I used copics for coloring and flicked some of the darker green for blades of grass.
i gave this to my friend and she really liked it. Hope you do too.

Floating Along Sneak Peek

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER # 226 - Stagccva AKA Taylor Usry. I chose to CASE her PEACH BE WITH YOU. I changed the colors just a bit, the layout, left off some layers, and left off the tag.
I was NOT going to make anything today until I peeked at today's FS. I have to head to the airport that is 1hr from home with a 11:50 departure time for Boston. I will be away from my stamps until Friday morning. So why not squeeze one more in right? LOL.
I used a stamp set from MARKS FINEST PAPER called "FLOATING ALONG" which will be available Tuesday. I stamped the water lily 3 times, colored, cut it out in stages and popped it up. I used copics for coloring: G20, G21, R20, R81, R83, Y11 & Y13. Some wired pink ribbon, stickles, and I was done.

Cocoa's Banana Split Post-It Note Holder

This is for today's FREE 4 ALL CHALLENGE # 67 - Not Cards Today, and today's salute for QUEEN FOR THE DAY # 63 - jandjccc. I chose to CASE Mary's yummy TRIPLE SCOOP ICE CREAM CONE.
This is also for Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE # 325 - Dying for Die Cuts where I used Nesties Label 17 for my post it note holder base and a smaller die in the set for the focal panel as well.
I used a digital image called "COCOA"s SUNDAE" from SWEET N SASSY STAMPS for today's SWEET N SASSY DIGITAL CHALLENGE # 5 - Anything But A Card. I traced the overlay of the note pad after thinning the number of sheets in it so I could trim it to fit the nestie shape.
I colored my focal image with copics:
E31, 34, 37, 39
R21, 24
Y00, Y11
I am going to get back in the habit of listing my copics, I promise. After coloring I applied some glaze to the cherry and white liquid applique to the whipped cream then heated it from behind to make it puff up.
I hope you like this matchbook post it note. I will give this to a co-worker bc if I put it on my desk I will gain 10 lbs a day. LOL. Now off to a 1/2 day of working then home for a swim with Shannon and the grands. Whoo Hoo pool here I come.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Cocoa's Sundae - SNS Digital Line
Paper: Barely banana, white
Accessories: copics, double sided tape, Nesties Label 17, crystal effects, liquid applique
Techniques: copic coloring, post it note holder

Cocoa & Cookie's Sand Castle

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 335. OK so I saw today's sketch and after I got off the floor and stopped crying I decided to give it a try anyway. I DO NOT do well with angles, multi layers, or mixed dp's. Just can not get it. I can combine 16 challenges into 1 creation but just have a hard time with angles, adding a lot of layers, and mixing dps, go figure. Also after skipping out of last weeks challenge bc of all the layers I did not want to miss another SC.
So here it is for what is worth. Rather than having 3 different dps I chose to take one dp and make the angles and layer it from there. I used some Echo Park - Splash dp and marina mist cs for the matts. I stamped the sentiment all the way around using pacific point. I wanted a graduation of blue hues. I colored this darling image using copics and matted on marina mist then popped it up.
My color combo of BLUE, GREEN, & TAN is from Taylors challenge last night over at the SWEET N SASSY JUNE RELEASE BEACH PARTY and also from Shelby's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE using that darling Hawaiian Shirt. WhooHoo wish I could go to that island today and just get some R&R.
I love how this turned out and hope you do too.
